    I made these last night- they are awesome! I did make a few substitutions though- I could not find brown rice syrup anywhere so I used dark corn syrup, and for the nut butter, I used Great Value Natural Chunky Peanut Butter (reduced the cost a bit)- they turned out great!
    It made 12 bars and got this for the calculations: Calories: 153, Carbs: 19; Fat: 7; Protein: 4.

    Next time I want to add some vanilla whey in place of the vanilla extract as one of the PP's suggested...any idea how much whey I should add? I have never used it before! Thanks!

    bump !! My husband loves the clif bars. I didn't care for the ones he was eating but with this recipe, I can make them affordable to try again with different ingredients. Thanks for posting this !! I'm definitely going to save this recipe and try it.

    Yum - those look great! Thanks for sharing. They look a lot like the fruit & nut bars they have at Canyon Ranch in Tucson, if you've ever been there. Delish!
