Positively_me: Wow, that sounds hectic, and stressful. My observation is that physical stress can make weight loss harder -- good luck for your goals, and I hope you find time to take care of yourself!
Dharti: Awesome -- and inspiring. I'm also someone who looks doubtful at the idea that I might be able to run for half an hour. I'll go back to working on it!0 -
Good morning girls! I will have to go back and catch up on the posts. I have been sick with a sinus infection (yes, sick again!). I haven't had a chance to workout any this week. I have a quick question. Does anyone know if you can gain some serious weight from a steroid shot? When I went to the doctor 2 days ago, she gave me a steroid shot and some other shot. When I weighed this morning, I am up 5 lbs!! :noway: What the heck???0

From what I heard you can gain serious weight from any steroid. I would probably do some research on it online to see, or call your doctor to see the side effects.0 -
So sorry I have not been on here responding to everyone's posts as much as I usually do. I made a list of things I am trying to do this week and going through it each day. I figure while I am off from working I might as well get some things done that I usually don't have time for (naps included lol) So today I have been cleaning the house all day and looking to get my workout in in a little while so I am not doing it at 10pm.
So far, no call backs on jobs yet, which is ok for right now. The right thing will come up at the right time. I am trying to focusing on prospecting people who are interested in BeachBody programs ans products, so I can provide coaching to them and also make a little extra income. So if you guys know of anyone, please feel free to send them my way
I have done really good at not looking at the scale this week. After I saw that I was up some pounds from Friday (TOM around the corner and Water Retention) I decided to not worry about it, and just work hard this week. I am absolutely loving TurboFire right now! I haven't done Zumba in a few weeks, because I have been playing catch up with TurboFire doing 2 classes in one day. But I will be all caught up by the end of this week, so I will be using my TurboFire "rest day" as Zumba time.
I hope everyone is having a great week this week! It is hump day, so let's finish the week strong!0 -
Before vacation I was able to run 10 min and walk intervals. After coming from vacation, couple of weeks has been hectic. I was sad that I havent made much progress. But yesterday for the first time I ran 30 minute straight. This is a huge accomplishment for me, since I always thought I couldnt ever run that far and my body wasnt meant to be. I am so excited and thrilled about this success. Today I was able to run straight 2.5 miles. I am going to sign up for C25K on April 16th.
That is freaking awesome! I give so much credit to anyone that can jog/run! I hate it lol Girl you might as well run a 5k now! Awesome and glad you had a good vacation!0 -
morning/afternoon ladies!
I am so super busy this week and I am so far behind on posts..too much going on in my life.
My brother is getting married in October. my mother and brother are leaving to go overseas with her family (soon to be wife)... My sisters' and I have to shop for 3 dresses: offical engagement party, henna party (3 days before the wedding), and the wedding... This means that We have to loook for 3 over-the-top dresses. We are planning on making the dresses for the wedding and the other 2 are store bought, but they have to be mother approved. My mother said the navy blue dress ( profile picture) I bought for his first engagement announcment was not fancy enough...
ON top of that, before my brother announce his engagement dh and I were planning on moving from a townhouse to a single house. we found the house and place the bid...first bid was not accepted so we placed another bid...not accepted. Hopefully, this bid will be accpeted, because this house is not worth 400,000 especially if we need to do some fixing.
for our townhouse, My husband is not sure if we should rent it out or just sell it...too much thing to worry about and that is what in my daily life.
My weight, I have been around 205 (last friday and this morning) ..I need to kick it up. My goal before my birthday and brother's wedding is 160ish..I hope I can make that goal a reality..
so here is somewhat a rundown of what I am going through ( excluding childrens' schooling/graduation..and me finishing my degree). I will try to keep in touch with everyone but it is so hard to get on..but I will pop in from time-to-time.
love ya all,
Laila
WOW! You have a lot going on right now! But I am sure you are excited about your brother's wedding. I LOVE watching traditional weddings that have the henna parties, and the groom coming in on elephants, and those goregeous dresses! Very fun! Well you are one great woman balancing this all. Just make sure to take time for yourself every now and then....and good luck with house hunting!0 -
Ok so I thought of another exercise for us to do....I want everyone to post what they are most proud of thus far on this journey. It does not have to be pounds related...but what are you proud of that you may not have been able to do before that you can now?
Sorry ladies I have been MIA on the board this week. I started yesterday Ripped in 30 Jillian Michaels new DVD LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I will be doing that 4 to 5 times a week with 20 to 30 minutes of additional cardio (i.e. zumba, treadmil intervals, or my leslie sansone dvds). I am hoping that I can get as close as I can to the ONEderlands by June 1. I think this should get me pretty close.
I would say what I am most proud of is that I am actually doing this! I am making a better choice for my life/health. I am also always amazed at myself after I finish a workout dvd. 35lbs ago I could barely breathe walking up and down the stairs now I run up them. It's crazy.
It is crazy! But I know that you are so proud of yourself...and you absolutely should be! Great job girl! Good luck with Ripped in 30!0 -

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been MIA. I've been sick since Sunday, getting progressively worse each day. :frown:
But I wanted to share some good news:
1. I met my mini goal and broke out of the 190s today! 189 baby!! It feels GREAT!
2. My friend John noticed that I had lost weight and even told me that I was "looking skinny!". Let's just say, apart from my husband who is obviously biased, no one has EVER called me skinny!!
So here's to hoping that I'll feel better ASAP because I have my 10K in about 60 hours. :drinker: And you better believe I'm still running it! I have worked too hard to not do it!!0 -

I would like to share this quote from Ripped in 30 ....
Transformation is not a future event. It is a present activity!- Jillian Michaels
So true ladies, transformation will happen over time but in order to get there we need to work for it as hard as we can today.
Have a great day ladies :flowerforyou:0 -

Sorry I don't have any fresh ideas for you but my focus is getting back on track in April! NO EXCUSES. I have lost time to make up for if I want to get even close to 40 pounds down my June 1st.0
