ltspaul and goldk, Did you have new goals/challenges for April? I'd like to continue staying within our calories ( I always need to focus there) I'm going to try to up my protein. I keep hearing how that will increase weight loss. Thought it might be worth a try...

I got some rest. Sounds weird, but I have been in overdrive lately and really needed the rest.

I would not have ate a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch cereal as a midnight snack.

Monday weigh-in 139. (Down 2.4 lbs.from my post-Jamaica weight.) The scale actually said 140.5 but I gave myself .5 lbs of credit for the 24 oz. of water i drank before weighing. :noway: Oops, I forgot to drink less before weighing Hopefully my conservative estimate gives me a good result next Monday!

I'll try to stay on the goal of staying under on calories, and also upping my non-dairy protein. I've been trying to do that for the last few months but have slipped back into eating a lot of cheese for my proteins. The nutrition plan that I'm trying has me eating 3 meals and 3 snacks a day with 4 oz. of protein with every meal and 2 oz. with at least 2 of the snacks. I think it is helping.0 -

hoosiermama: I have a lot of trouble with protein, that has been the hardest adjustement for me with my nutrition plan. I love cheese for protein but eat too much of it. I usually have a protein shake for either breakfast or one snack (1/2 cup yogurt, 1 scoop whey protein powder, fruit(s) of choice (usually banana and strawberries, sometimes frozen cherries), 2 T coconut milk). I have eggs often, and try to hide my protein in things like stew. So I'm still working on the protein choices.
Today my protein's so far have been eggs for breakfast, cheese for my snack, stew for lunch, protein shake for afternoon snack - haven't planned supper yet.0 -

I know - those protein powders aren't cheap - but they do last awhile. I've given up on trying to be economical at the grocery store, because so many of the organic or healthier foods are more expensive, but I am probably saving money by not eating out as much - and hopefully in the long run by being healthier!
My nutrition class talks about having to 'heal your metabolism' by cutting out artificial sweeteners, tranfats, high fructose corn syrup, supplementing with probiotics - and then upping protein and lowering carbs ... and it seems to be working for me so far. I don't have nearly the cravings I used to have for 'bad' foods, and I'm not hungry and still losing a bit each week. Not losing super fast - but at least steady. I hope it can continue! I start my nutrition class again next week - they offered a super discounted rate to do it again, and even though it will be boring because it will be repeating everything from the last class - I'm hoping it will keep me accountable and keep me going. If you have any interest in the details of the plan let me know and I will email them - I typed them up for a couple of other people so I have them already in my sent box.0 -

Goldk: Sorry about your neck! ouch! My daughter is back from Germany, she had a good time although we haven't gotten very much info out of her about her trip. She did a 'speed narrative' through her pictures (most of which were all of the same thing, and then days without any pictures). Now we are stressing about colleges - she took her ACT last weekend and she needs to narrow her list down to 4 to send her results to.0 -

ltspaul - One more for us to go to college. He is still a junior. Thankful for another year to go. I'm actually still enjoying him! The Freshman in College? Everyday is a new adventure with her!! I try to keep a sense of humor!

See you lose 25 lbs and you start acting crazy... LOL... My boyfriend wishes he had a camera with him. I won't buy him one because I give him too much to work with. Last summer I slid down a mountain (not too far) :laugh: :laugh: That was not caught on camera either. Nice scrape all the way up my leg. Yeah... I have fun :drinker: I told him that a wanted to do a zipline next. :laugh:
