Good morning friends! Starting this weeks thread. Eating some pineapple. Haven't weighed in yet..I'll do it in a little bit. Was a little mad that I had decided to only take one laxative last night instead of two like I did last time and see if it worked...yeah it didn't!:grumble: Wanted that to happen before weighing in. Oh well. We'll see. I have a little while until my normal weigh in time. I'm coming up with my meal plan for the day. I'll check back in a bit!!

OMG Katy! 4 pounds is FABULOUS! I only WISH I was anywhere near that! Here's my stats:
Week 1: 171.5
Week 2: 170
Week 3: 169
Goal (by Week 13): 151.5
So total lost--2.5 pounds
Total remaining--17.5 pounds:noway: (I guess I thought I'd be closer by now!)
I'm still having problems going to...um...the bathroom. SO super frustrating. I'm hoping this gets figured out this week! But...I'm not going to get my hopes up! It just means that when I get things taken care of, I'll probably shed some weight really fast!!! **fingers crossed here**
Here's the meal plan for today:
Breakfast:
1 c. sliced pineapple, 1 c. Multigrain Cheerios with 1/2 c. skim milk, 1 c. strawberries quartered, 10 raspberries, 8 oz. Plum Start Diet Juice, 1 multivitamin.
AM Snack:
2 c. coffee with 2 tbsp. sugar free Vanilla Caramel creamer, Soft-baked Kashi TLC Blackberry Graham bar.
Lunch:
1/2 c. fat free cottage cheese, 3 Old London Melba toast crackers, 14 baby carrots, dt. coke, AE YoLite Yogurt.
Afternoon Snack:
100 cal pack almonds, 1 c. green grapes, Nature Valley Pecan Crunch Granola Bar, Green Tea.
Dinner:
4 oz. Tilapia filet, Homemade Salad with spritzer dressing, Red Baked Potato with I can't believe it's not butter spray.
PM Snack:
More green tea and 2 sheets Reduced Fat Graham crackers with 2 tbsp. cool whip free and 2 tbsp Sugar Free chocolate syrup.
Workout plan--45 minute Step class, 15 minute Ab workout, Week 2 Day 1 100 pushup challenge.
SO...that is the plan for today. I don't think there should be any obstacles. This will put me pretty close to my calories for the day (I've been getting better at eating ALL my calories).

Hey Team!
My internet has been down for the past few days so I haven't been able to check in!!! It was driving me mad!
Well, it appears as though I"m down to 153 as of yesterday, but today I'm bloated and all that fun stuff so I'm not bothering weighing in today. So far, down about 3 lbs in to this 20 lb challenge. as of right now I think my final goal is more for 15 lbs. It's sooooo amazing to be down 107 lbs. I bought a new t-shirt the other day that was really fitted & for the first time I didn't have to wear spanx haha...my boyfriend was in shock to see how tiny I'm getting :blushing: I'm starting to look in to tummy tuck procedures to help take care of my excess and all that gross stuff that comes along with lots of weight loss. I've been dreading seeing the price tag that goes along with it because I just graduated from college and have enough debt there...but....there's amazing news!!! I moved to Canada from the U.S to go to college & save money & the amazing thing is that my health insurance, which is free here, covers the cost of the tummy tuck surgery if it's due to weight loss!! YES!!!!! I'm going to start with a personal trainer in the next few weeks to see if I can reduce or tighten some of that skin & just to get healthier too & then soon after I'll go in for a consultation!
Good luck today!0 -

When you don't have much weight to lose your body will take a lot longer to shed the pounds. Are you getting enough calories? That's frustrating though. Just try shaking things up a little and see if it does the trick!0 -
OK
Weight 253 meaning I GAINED
something i think is wrong next week go to drs so.... well see what happens...but... I am trying.... hopefully a good grocery shop will help.... i was way on track.... STRESS SUCKS.... Hope everyone else is doing great :bigsmile:0 -
I gained a pound...but I'm not changing my ticker!
week 1 was 192
week 2 was 189 (yay)
week 3 190
So down two pounds total, that's awesome I guess even though I gained some. I'm gonna blame it on retaining water or something. This week has been rough and I've been eating a bit more than I should and really wanting a cigarette badly, which makes me eat and the cycle goes on! lol0 -
Well last night was fine...I did eat a few EXTRA tablespoons of cool whip...but I did account for them and still didn't go over for the day. AND this morning I finally was able to go to the...um...restroom! FINALLY! And I feel SO much better! And so I was excited and weighed myself and I am back down to 167 where I was before I started holding onto all this extra...well...stuff. SO...I'm not going to change my ticker until I stay down here for a bit, but I was really excited because I knew that this was where I should be!!!
ANYways...the plan for the day:
Breakfast:
AE YoLite Yogurt (Blueberry flavor) with 3/4 cup whole grain Total cereal, 1 c. sliced strawberries, 10 raspberries, 8 oz. Plumsmart Light Juice, 1 multivitamin
AM Snack:
2 c. coffee with 2 tbsp sugar free Vanilla Caramel creamer, Soft Baked Kashi TLC blackberry graham bar
Lunch: **I don't know yet...I'm going out with some co-workers as a farewell for my sister who's leaving for school in a few weeks...I'll just have to make some good choices wherever we end up going**
Afternoon Snack:
1 med. apple, Nature Valley Pecan Crunch granola bar, green tea
Dinner: Homemade Soy and Sesame Chicken and Broccoli with Black Bean-Garlic Sauce. Yum! (I can post the recipe if anyone wants it).
**Depending on lunch, I may also make some wild rice with dinner**
PM Snack:
Depends on calories remaining but probably some Choclate granola bites and/or fresh pineapple.
Workout plan--1/2 hour run on treadmill and 1 hour BodyPump class.
SO...this is the plan for the day. I think I should be fine for lunch...I just don't even know where we are going yet.
Have a fantabulous day everyone!!!!:drinker:0 -
I am reading everyone's entries and all I have to say is WAY TO GO TEAM!!!!
I know that I need to do a little better with what I eat. I am will have to say that I made homemade fried chicken tenders Monday Night .... Well... I paid for it last night. Never doing that again :ohwell: I will think twice.
I weighed this morning and couldn't believe the results.
Week 1 : 220
Week 2: 217
Week 3: 216
I CAN DO THIS. I CAN DO THIS. I CAN DO THIS.
I had coffee this morning and a plain whole wheat blueberry waffle.
For snack I am most likely going to have 2 tbs of pb on whole wheat toast and a bananna.
Lunch: Not sure ... I think that I may go get a salad from a place called Newks here.
Pm snack. Taking some fruit and a granola bar with me to my training.
Dinner: not sure yet.
I have been cleaning all morning!!! I love burning calories while doing house work. I am most likely going to do a little strenght training with quick areobic intervals tonight.
Talk to everyone later and keep up the good work.

I have about 20-25 pounds to loose. I changed it to a lower number to trick myself into thinking I don't have that far to go. When I reach that I will bump it up. But I am thinking now that I should put it back because it's the same one way or another. Maybe by seeing higher numbers I will be more focused and trying a little harder. I just don't know what to do.0 -

The best (and most consistent) advice I've seen on here is that this is a game of patience. You will find the way :flowerforyou:0 -
So, I had my first really bad day in 2 months yesterday. I had some sugary drinks to wind down with my hubby and went over my cals by.... wait for it.... 1500 :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway:
I couldn't believe that when I entered everything because I NEVER drink. But it was one day and I'm going to try out a 1 to 2 week cleanse. We'll see how that goes. I have to decide what I'm going to eat for the cleanse. My Naturopath gave me a modified cleanse for breastfeeding women a few months back so I'm going to look for that paper.
My good news is that it looks like we probably won't be declaring bankruptcy. There are a couple of options we're going to explore that should help. Big changes ahead but I'm actually really excited about it. More later on that - I have to go teach my stroller fitness class!!
Yay Kristin on your relief!! Woo HOO!!0 -
Hi pals!
So, yesterday I at close to a whole box of cereal throughout the day hahahahahaha. I was feeling really crummy & the cereal was tasting soooo good haha. I know that's bad, but at least it was a whole grain puffed Kashi cereal & i was using trim soy milk, so I guess that's better than chowing down on pizza all day...so yeah, I stagger my calories so I considered that my "up day" and today I'm going to cut down to around 1,100 calories for a "down day"...let's hope it works....no regrets though...i think girls need to have a little splurge for those few bad days every month. As long as us ladies can learn the right things to splurge on there's no harm.
Anyways, today I started off with a bowl of Kashi puffed cereal and a 1/2 cup of trim soy milk.
Lunch-egg whites & toast with organic peanut butter
Dinner-Spinach salad with strawberries, almond slivers, raspberry vinegrette
snacks-light hot chocolate mmmmmmmmmmm (for only 45 calories for a huge drink it's sooo satisfying)
Good luck today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Yay Kristin on your relief!! Woo HOO!!
Thanks! I feel WAY better!:drinker:
I just got back from lunch with the co-workers and I ate a grilled chicken salad with fat free italian dressing (about 1 tbsp). There were a few baby tomatos on the salad and some sliced cucumber. There was some shredded cheddar cheese and bacon bits which I kinda pushed to the side so probably only got about 1 tbsp of each. And I have about 1/4 c. fried rice (from my sisters plate) and one of her pieces of orange chicken (tablespoon size). There were no nutrition facts on this stuff so looked up what I could in our database and it ended up being around 400 calories for everything. SO...not too bad! And with my workout this evening...I should still have enough calories remaining for a evening snack! Doing good!!!
Artschoolgirl--I'm glad you aren't regretting your choices yesterday. I agree that we all need our "up" days.
Pedalhound--So glad to hear your financial issues may actually be okay. That's GREAT!!!:flowerforyou:
Ynot--Pedalhound is right...it takes time and patience. You will get there. I don't know what number on the ticker will be better for you. It's a personal choice I think. Just stick with it! You'll get there!!:flowerforyou:
Everyone else...KEEP AT IT!!!!!:drinker: WE CAN DO IT!!!!0 -
So. Big changes as I mentioned. I've had an online retail store for organic, natural, fair trade products. BUT, it looks like I'm going to be all but closing down the retail aspect of my store which I'm feeling really good about. The whole financial thing I've mentioned caused a really great, deep conversation with my best friend yesterday and it brought a lot of things to light for me. I put everything about fitness on the back burner when I got pregnant with my daughter over 4 years ago, but the truth is that health and fitness is always where my passion has been. I've been a dancer all my life, I've always LOVED working out and being involved in that world. Part of why I keep saying this process has been "easy" for me is that it's a lifestyle I love so much and that's not new. I just sort of lost my personal place within it. Anyway, I think what I'm going to do is allow myself to focus more on this area as my path rather than my store. I've been a teacher for a long time (tutoring language for years, teaching dance and courses, we're homeschooling our children...) and connection with people, being emotionally supportive and encouraging, and helping people is something I've always been drawn to. I did my personal training 4.5 years ago because I love this and I'm going to refocus on getting back into that in a couple of years when my children are a little older. I feel really excited about these decisions and ideas because it really fulfills me. When I do decide to start doing individual personal training again I'll have to do some re-certification but that's okay. And in the mean time I'll keep teaching stroller fitness and making those connections again in my life.
I'm not a big investor in fate but I do know that in the course of my life the times that are the most frightening and the most daunting always bring about the most useful epiphanies and the most solid sense of direction. This case is the same, and is definitely why I tend to look optimistically at tough times that come my way. So far, I've ALWAYS ended up glad they happened.
So that's my little novel for the day
Stroller fitness was GREAT today. I put together a heck of a strength component and I was really sweating. Kristin, I LOVE bodypump and all of the BTS classes and today my strength section was totally modeled after that style. Have fun at yours tonight!!
Good luck today guys!

Pedalhound...you are seriously such and inspiring person and your attitude makes me LOVE this site more and more every day. Even though it's all cyber and we never see each other, we really can create bonds that help motivate us! You are totally a motivator to me! Thank you for always being open enough to share these "novels" as you call them. :flowerforyou:

Hey guys!! So I had my first re-evaluation at my doctors today for my weight loss.. and officially Im down 17lbs this 1st month- unofficially (from my at home scale's readings) Im down 21lbs for this month..Im SO happy Ive been working hard and really changing how I eat and incorporating more exercising. This weekly challenge is also really helping me, I love it!
Yesterday was my break day from exercise and I ate raisin bran crunch cereal and skim milk for bfast- 1 slice wheat bread and 1 tbspn PB and 1 cup grapefruit for lunch with crystal light mix in water- dinner was a mixed baby greens salad with 2 oz lemon pepper porkchop and 1 cup steamed broccoli..my munchies were some mixed nuts, and a stalk of celery and then of course tons of water during the day!
Today for bfast was raisin bran crunch and skim milk, lunch was mixed baby green salad and 1/3 cup egg beaters all egg white...plenty of water through out the day...not sure what dinner will be.
Exercise for today was an hour on the treadmill at various mph's and 25 min on the exercise bike...
and crystal light strawberry energy mix in water while before I exercised..
So it seems like we twenty pounders are doing well overall!! Im so proud of all of you :drinker: Even if you had a bad day or week just remember- we still have plenty of time to make up for it!! Everyone needs an off day or so every now and again :flowerforyou:0 -
Good for you Katy! And you're totally right...we all have our bad days! And we still have 10 more weeks! Let's keep at it!!!:drinker:0

That's a really uplifting thing to hear Kristin, thanks!! I appreciate it :bigsmile:0

Hey...it's true Pedalhound!
SO...I didn't end up having the Soy chicken as planned. We had some unexpected guests and a little 2 year old so I made some HomeMade Creamy Mac and Cheese. Very yummy! And it's only 283 calories per 1 cup...I had 2 and some grilled corn on the cob and am still within my calories for the day. AND full. No snacks this evening except some green tea. Tomorrow night then the hubby and I will have Soy chicken. (It's already marinating!)
Hope everyone's having a good evening! Time to do some dishes and then to bed for me!!! Talk to you all tomorrow!!!:flowerforyou:0 -
That's good on cals for Mac & Cheese - recipe please!! lol0

Doing the morning check-in tonight since I never have time to post my meals in the morning!!
I'm going to try planning my days in full more often. Here's Thursday's meal plan:
breakfast: organic oatmeal w/ blueberries, flax, soy nuts, natural peanut butter & 1/2 sm banana. 1 serving of North Coast Naturals Apple Berry Greens powder.
lunch: 1/4 baked salmon filet, 0.5 cup mashed yam, 0.5 cup organic apple strawberry sauce
supper: 3/4 grilled chicken breast, 3/4 baked sweet potato, 1.5 cup broccoli & 1 tbsp light sour cream
snacks: 3oz organic dark bittersweet 70% cocoa chocolate, 1 hard boiled egg, 1 North Coast Naturals chocolate whey protein drink.
If I work out I'll have to find a way to add something in but that sounds like a lot of food to me.... hmm.
Well, after my marathon work outs today I'm finally feeling pretty darned tired. Time to hit the hay!
Let's do our best for the day to come, folks!! :bigsmile:0
