Karen - Glad to hear that you are using your lunch hour to move a little. Keep it up!
Chrissy - Looking forward to seeing you soon - hang in there!
Peter - Great job on the 8 minutes running! And don't be so concerned with the scale (had to say that, because you would!) Keep on keeping on!
Deb - Life with newborns can be hectic. Just keep plugging!
I have not had a great week. My mother is back in the hospital with pneumonia, sepsis, a UTI, and had another heart attack. I am doing everything I need to do as far as eating and exercise, just don't always feel so much like posting. Spending lots of time checking on Mom via phone. But I know all will work out, and I am staying with it. I'll be glad when school is out (May 27th) and I don't have to work for a while.
See you all soon!
Deb - Car repairs do suck sometimes - Anytime you want to know something automotive related, feel free to ask me.
Chrissy - We won't forget about you. Good to see you around.
Mary, Thanks.Peter - Great job on the 8 minutes running! And don't be so concerned with the scale (had to say that, because you would!) Keep on keeping on!
BUT
I have gone down ANOTHER notch in my belt........ so who CARESSSSSSSSS what the scale says.
I am determine this time to finish up 90 days on P90x - If I gain weight, or only lose 5 lbs, then so be it.0 -
Thanks for the offer Peter. I am enjoying my new wheels we bought a Tahoe on Wednesday. I hope to avoid any and all repairs for a long time now as it is a 2010.
The weather is looking up around Here. Soon I am going to start walking my daughter to school again. We are going to go camping this weekend just one night but it will be nice to get away.
Happy moms day to everyone. Hope you all have a great weekend!0 -
I haven't done too well the last couple of days. I don't know why I'm having so much trouble staying focused. I know I need to make my health a priority! I just eat whatever is in sight and have gotten less than an hour of (intentional) exercise in the past week.
Have any of you done C25K? I saw another thread on here where some people are starting it Monday and it would be done Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 30 minutes. I don't necessarily have a desire to become a runner, but I thought I'd do it because it is structured and maybe that's what I need. It would be a specific plan to get me moving more than I am because I'm not doing any good on my own. If I don't do that, I think I at least need a plan of action because just saying I'm going exercise three or four times a week without being specific or accountable isn't working for me. Any feedback???
Thanks!!0 -
Karen - I haven't done C25K, but I think that Chrissy has. I know many people who have, and say it really does work. I don't have a lot of good advice (others on here are much better at that than I am), but I will say that when I had pretty much quit exercising, and needed to get in gear, I found that if I posted on this thread that I was going to do a specific thing (like swim) at a specific time, I was more likely to follow through so that I could come back and say I had done it. Others can help support you by holding you accountable, which is why I asked you a while back if you had followed through with your exercise plan for the day. I also find that if I am lucky enough to find a buddy to meet for exercise, and set up a meeting, I am locked in and can't make excuses to make it go away. Don't know if any of that would help you or not.
A couple of other things that I have done is post my plan for dealing with overdoing on the calories. (See my signature) And - this one was very hard for me at first - make my diary viewable by my friends. That way I know that someone will see it if I eat 10 cookies and popcorn with 1/4 cup of butter for supper.
Good luck, and remember, we are here for you!0 -
Hey Karen,
I've doing C25k right now.
Last year I did some C25k......When I started, I walked, and then when I was comfortable I would jog for 10-20-30 secs.
Then when I felt comfortable I would put a 30 sec jog in. Each week they increase the jog and then you walk.
This year I started back, and jumped back into week 4. I've just completed Week 5D1 and W5D2 - 5 min non stop jogging and 8 min non stop jogging. 1 month ago I couldn't jog 3 mins non stop.
I found it's easier to do it if you have mp3's to listen to. There are podcasts that will give you cues on when to walk and when to run.
This can also be done on a treadmill, there are a few threads on people who are doing the program.
Have fun, enjoy.
I believe this is one of the main websites for C25k.

Thank you Mary and Peter. I appreciate the support. Yeah, I just need to keep checking in here and have people to keep me accountable.
This morning I have been busy cleaning because I have family coming to visit.
Have a great Saturday!0 -
Cleaning house can be exercise if it is above your normal amount - it may be your lucky day!
Forgot to mention that I got back to the pool yesterday. It was still kind of cool, but I did okay. Have a great Saturday, everyone!0 -
Karen I'll do c25k with you. I have been wanting to start it again. There are many apps and podcasts that have the program. You just have to find one you like. We can start tomorrow if you like! I need to be accountable so we could just check in here every day. Let me know what you think!0
-
Sounds good Deb. I was planning on starting tomorrow. I downloaded the app for Android. Seems pretty good because it can be set to my own music.0

Happy Monday to all! I had a good weekend, but very busy. I'm trying to get my house and yard ready to have 30 people (my bell choir and their families) over for a picnic next Sunday. My to do list is two pages long, and I keep adding to it, but don't seem to take anything off. I guess I will have to go into Superwoman mode! Have a great day!
Here's to smart choices!0 -
Go superwoman! You can do it!! I keep adding to my list and don't take anything off either.
Karen how'd your first day go? I just did my 32 minutes of day one. It was easier than I thought it would be and just under 2 miles.0 -

I just finished day one a little while ago. It was tough for me. My foot started hurting, so my runs just turned into fast walks in round 3. I finished though, and I will keep going!0 -
You go, Karen and Deb! Way to move!
My superwoman mode and good attitude got a trial tonight. I came home from work to find that my spare refrigerator has deceased. So - I put on my swimsuit, threw a dress on over it, (are you getting visions of a telephone booth in my future?), ran to the furniture store, bought a used refrigerator from my friendly salesperson. Being a small town sort of place, he told me that my husband could come in and pay for it "someday," and that he could have it delivered tomorrow - no need to take off of work. They will haul off the dead one for me and install the used one. Then I ran out the door to the pool, swam for 45 minutes, came home, managed to jam everything important into other refrigerators, went to Wendy's for dinner, and came home to totally rearrange my back porch in honor of the new fridge. I have to go take a shower now, and I haven't eaten enough today, and I am starved. It's after 10:00, but I will have to find something else to eat before bed. I'd better go rip off my cape and get busy!0 -
Wow superwoman, what a busy day. Glad to see there's people like that in businesses still around .
Karen and Deb - Awesome - Great job.Remember one thing I learned.
When i jogged, I was jogging too fast, and could not keep up that pace for my "next longer runs".
So, I slowed down the pace. I learned/found out I had a few different gears while jogging.
Just make note, even if you think your slow, as long as your not walking, then it's a slow pace jog
Karen, what part of your foot was hurting.
Ladies.. Make sure.. and I wanna stress this important tip..
STRETCH calves.
STRETCH glutes, thighs, hamstrings...STRETCH0 -
Wow superwoman, what a busy day. Glad to see there's people like that in businesses still around .0

Mary you are superwoman !! Ernie sounds like my kind of salesman. It is nice to be able to do things "on a handshake". We got our car loan just by signing our names it feels good to be trusted. But in the case of the loan it was almost scary to get $30000 so easily.
Peter I forgot to stretch! Having 2 kids hanging around the treadmill wanting to try sure didn't help. I realized when my shims started to hurt. I think I was trying to go a little too fast. I will fix that tomorrow. On an interesting note I love endorphins! My mood was more elated last night than it has been in a long time. I think I had forgotten how it feels to be happy. It is good to get out of my rut!
Thanks Karen for making me accountable!
Have a great day!0 -
Well Deb, Look at it this way - You can start the kids off early by touching their toes - lifting foot up to butt and standing on one foot - that should be funny for the kids. - hehehehe - Keep it going .
Well blue team - I'm just having a great day today - Finished Plyo X and then went out to do C25k W5D3 - I completed 20 min non stop jog :noway:  I can't believe it - I just kept pushing through and pushing through.
1300 cal burn today - so going to enjoy something good.
Have a great day - Everyone make good choices.0 -
Deb - glad you are so happy! Peter - how awesome your day is!
Just breezing through today. No exercise, and nothing done off of my list, as I am at work, then to the eye dr., then to a meeting. Oh well, at least the sun is shining, both outside and in my heart! Have a great Tuesday all!0 -
Well I guess endorphins only last so long. The high of yesterday quickly left as my hubby got irritated over the messy state of the house. I am not the best housekeeper. I admit but the last year I have been really bad. I got mad that he was mad and that was it. I am looking forward to tomorrow's endorphin rush!0

It's easy to lose that "high" when life happens. Good luck today. I will do my day 2 tonight after work.0 -
How'd it go karen? I fit my workout in barely before
an activity I had to go to last night. I took it slower this time running at 4.2mph. If you can call that a run. I felt great after and even remembered to stretch. Hope yours went as well.
The scale hasn't been kind to me this week. Time to really watch what I eat again.0 -
Hi Blues! Still hanging around just been overwhelmed with life! Hopefully be checking in more frequently. Keep working on you!0
-
Hey ladies.
Keep it going, Walk, jog, set those appointments. You don't want to cancel or reschedule them. .
Today I gave myself a choice for some reason. I had intentions of doing P90x YogaX, and then I thought that it was nice outside and it's been a couple days since I did C25k. .. Decision of inside for 1.5 hours or outside. Outside won.
Completed W6D1 and W6D2 for 800 calorie burn.0 -
WTG peter, I don't blame you for wanting to go outside. It is gorgeous around here (about time too) I walked my daughter to school today mostly because I don't have a car again. My 2010 Tahoe had issues and is in the shop. Go figure. I believe I am not meant to have a vehicle anymore. Apparently the Throttle body went out which is a special order part. It was idling high, and then too low. Not fun... who knows when I will get it back now. I just will get more exercise! (thank goodness for warranties though)
Hope everyone has a great day!0 -
Superwoman here checking before closing my eyes. I mean this literally as I brought all of you to bed with me to catch up on posts instead of reading my book tonight. My to do list doesn't seem to get any shorter. Hopefully I can get everything done before the crowd arrives for the party Sunday. Better sign off - I can't keep my eyes open. Good night!0
-
Apparently Superwoman mode has its benefits - for the first time in 3 months, I lost! 2.8 pounds! Have a good Friday all - I've got to head back to the phone booth. Duty calls!0

This week I started exercising and have been doing the C25K. It's been at a very slow pace, but it's the best I can do and more exercise than I've been doing. I've been drinking lots of water. Now I need to work on my food. I gained almost 2 pounds back since I last weighed 2 weeks ago.0
-
Mary. I am flattered that you checked in with us instead of reading. As an avid book reader I feel the sacrifice.
Karen I have gained weight too I am up four lbs over the last two weeks. All those weeks of eating carefree without gaining have caught up with me. In the past I have taken on too much and burned out so I am going to stick with c25k and try to eat homemade meals instead of eating out. I already did my exercise this morning. I ran/walked outside after taking dd to school. I was out for 40 min and averaged 18 min miles. Not bad actually considering I stopped to help my daughter lock up her bike with the timer running. I found this cool app called imapmyrun. It tracks your activity and gives you the stats. I think it is way cool!
Have a great day!0 -
I have to get onto my to do list - the clock is ticking and Sunday evening will be here soon. I am concerned now, as it is an outdoor party, and they just changed the forecast to a high of 60 with wind gusts to 25 mph. I have a friend who will have it at her house if we can't be outside, but darn it, I wanted to play outdoors!! I feel like someone just brought Kryptonite into the room! Oh, well, back to work - Superwoman signing off0
-
I've got to run to get to church for the bell choir that I direct. We perform today. Want to hear our last performance?
