Hello all,
i am starting the full 63 days of straight up Insanity May 30th. Feel free to join in anytime. I've done the program before, so I will not flake out or disappear. Also, at the end of the program hubby and I have an annual Palm Springs vacation; so we have to get ready for fun in the sun.

P.S. Summer begins June 21st. Are you ready?

Hello! Awesome accomplishments! I too have just started the Insanity work outs and cannot locate the work outs under exercise in order to see how many calories I have burned. Is there a specific "wording" or code it's under? Any help is much appreciated and keep up the Amazing work! Thanks :)

I plan to start that day as well! It will be my first time through but I am very excited about it. I am on my final week of P90x before the final recovery week. :-) Have been super happy with the results and am ready to start the next phase. Now that I have some muscle, I need the intensity of Insanity to burn fat.

I have thought hard about doing insanity before. How do you fit your running into the schedule? I have a 10K the first Sat. in June, and I like to run 3 times a week (long ~ 10 miles) on Saturdays, so that I stay in running shape for half marathons. Would I be able to do insanity without compromising my running fitness?

Welcome everyone. This is what you can do to enter the Insanity workouts in MFP.
Go to Exercise tab, then enter Insanity (Pure Cardio, etc.), a message will pop up that says it's not in the database, towards the bottom of the screen click on: Can't find what you're looking for? Add an exercise to the database. Then add in the name, time, and calories burned. Start in the high impact aerobics section.

Actually, Insanity is 90% hardcore cardio so it will help with your running. I usually do the DVD workouts in the morning and run @ lunch and the weekends. You will need more running time than myself, so far I've only been training for 5K's.

I am finishing my first round this week and starting a p90x/Insanity Hybrid on Monday but I will come here and check in just to keep me going.

Do you follow the nutrition plan when you do Insanity

Karenborter just started her P90X and Insanity hybrid as well. I'll be keeping my carbs around 100 grams a day. Both programs are basicly lower carb, so that's what I'm doing. I've been doing better with watching my carbs and sugar. I will revisit the Insanity food suggestions, but you know we all have our favorites.

    Hi everyone!

I'm starting Month 2 on Saturday, but would love to follow the thread along, since it seems some of you are already Insanity grads.

WeightLoss32 - Maybe you can give me some tips on the hybrid? After my Insanity I want to start a hybrid as well. I love the cardio Insanity gives me, but would like to add some weight training as well.

You can go to Karenborter's profile page and check out her hybrid schedule that's in her blog. She uses the workouts from both months of Insanity. When I did my hybrid I used the Max workouts from the 2nd month of Insanity. You can find that schedule in my blog. You can also go to Windows Calendar Maker to create your own hybrid calendar.

I got this link from another MFP member and this is what I used and this is the hybrid I am doing right now

    http://www.getfitwithgrav.com/2010/07/30/p90x-insanity-hybrid-printable-calendar/

I am loving the Insanity portion of my Hybrid and this is just the thread I needed to get motivation to keep pressing play and to dig deeper ... seeing feedback from other people doing Insanity will be helpful. If I weren't already into the hybrid I would start pure Insanity on the 30th I just still want weights. I am doing Cardio Abs tonight and LOVE it ... I am excited for all of you to start on the 30th!

In order to get the most accurate calorie burned you have to get a heart rate monitor. You can't rely on other peoples entries for this as EVERYONE burns calories differently based on many different factors.

Im interested in starting Insanity but Im soooo nervous. This will be my first time attempting an intense program like this. Im on my last week of Bridge to 10K and would like to continue running 2-3 times a week.

Couple of Questions: Do I have to follow the food plan? Is there a daily protein/carb/fat goal I can use instead of the food plan?Should I continue my Strength Training 3 times a week?

    Thanks!

All of the Beachbody programs come with a food plan/guide. insanity follows a low carb approach. I have been trying to keep my carbs at around 100 grams. Insanity has some fast push-ups and plank work in just about each and every workout. It is possible to work in weight training 2-3 days a week with Insanity, but keep in mind that some days are going to be difficult.

Getting super excited about starting on Monday. I will need to revisit the diet portion to see if I need to tweak anything. Right now, I've only been concerning myself with calories. I managed to lose 15 pounds over the course of P90X, but I am ready to take it to the next level with even cleaner eating. Looking forward to the support through this feed!

    Hi everyone,

I finished Insanity in April. It was so difficult but I loved it! Now I started a running/Insanity hybrid last week. I am running M,W,F (about 4 miles) and doing Insanity T, Th, Sa. I am doing the Month 1 Insanity workouts (except last Saturday I did Max Interval Sports Training, since it's my favorite). Do you guys think that's ok or should I change it and do the month 2 workouts?

    Thanks!

Since the Month 1 workouts are shorter, you can add in a good ab workout at the end on Tues and Thursday.

A hybrid is mixing 2 or 3 programs together for each week. The thing with hybrids is that it has to make sense. If you mix the workouts from P90X and Insanity it can get tough. Monday is usually a chest day with P90X, however most of the Insanity workouts have you doing plank work and a lot of fast push-ups. So you may not want to do Insanity on Tuesday, directly following chest day. Some Tuesdays we felt that our upper body was so blasted that we did P90X Plyometrics on Tuesdays and did the Insanity workouts towards the end of the week.

I will definitely be here. As a matter of fact, I plan to post my very first fit test results from last June compared to what I do tomorrow morning. I'm very curious as to what that will look like.
