A co-worker went on a lunch run ....and out of convenience I had him pick me up a salad. A ceasar salad......it is good. But how healthy is this thing?

McDonalds has all their nutritional information on their website and it should be in the MFP database.0

Here is a PDF file from McDonalds with nutrition info:

Caesar salad doesn't look too bad to me! I'll have to give it a try!0 -
you can find the info on the mc d nutrition. It depends on the chicken grilled vs fried and the dressing. I think it is an okay choice especially for fast food.0
-
it's not healthy! especially if you used the dressing!0
-
i LOVE the southwest salads with grilled chicken and w/o the tortilla strips.0

wow this MFP database is a pretty cool feature! thanks for pointing it out to me, I was not aware of it.0 -
I've heard they have more sugar than the shakes but I'm not sure if that's true. I have eaten the odd one with no dressing or chicken but it was very boring lol0

The info is with no dressing, scroll down the PDF and you will see the dressing adds another 190 cals and 18 grams of fat, for a total of 22 grams of fat and 280 calories for the one with no chicken, with crispy chicken add 330 calories instead of 90 and total fat grams goes up to 35 grams.0 -
Please define what you mean by "healthy".0

I like the caesar also. Its about 380 calories with the dressing that it comes with,I get it grilled. Its high in sodium, about 1400. But I also love them!!!0
-
I get the southwest chicken grilled and use about half of the dressing. IT's 370 cals. The bad part of the salad is it's sodium content, but other than that it's not that bad.0
-
my advice is to ALWAYS have your own salad dressing....when i did medifast a few years ago, i would go to subway and get double meat salads or mcdonalds and get 2 salads but always use my "free" dressings.....its one of those things i keep at work and at home0

The salad itself isn't bad, if you get it with grilled chicken or no chicken at all and don't use their dressings...0

HEHEHEHE Will this is my first day tracking my food! I had a Boost in the morning and a salad for lunch............. awesome!0 -
healthy so long as you do not use the dressing and take out the croutons.0

There is nothing wrong with the dressing other than the fact that it may be calorically dense, which can be a problem when trying to obatin and sustain a caloric deficit.0

Have you read the label, do that and then tell me what is healthy in the dressing? It is both calorie dense, which does not mean unhealthy, and it is unhealthy (chemicals, sugars, salt etc.)0 -
What's wrong with sugars and salt?
And as I said, it being dense in calories is in no way unhealthy, but it is easy to overshoot calories when eating the sort.0 -
I can't stand the nutr_fresh or what ever solution, they use to keep salad alive longer. Just can't get beyond the taste. But for fast food when nothing is available I may eat one.0

The Thai grilled chicken salad is only 130 calories.....and its good without the dressing. If you add the dressing its more calories.0

Anything from Mcdonalds is terrible for you.0

Never have th Cesar salads. Creamy dressing, bacon, croutons, and cheese is all added calories that you dont need. I would rather enjoy a big mac.0
