Wednesday = 4 miller lites
I come home from a great workout at the gym to find my husband prepared this very healthy, great meal for me.... then he hands me a beer and it just goes from there. I'm going to try and grab a glass of water before he can tempt me! Lol! But they were some good beers :bigsmile:0 -
I love a beer and I'm grand mon - fri unless I have a work night out on Friday. Come the weekend there is always something on with BBQ's, Football, gigs...so it's inevitable I'm going to have a few pints on Saturday night. I have a heavy weekend this weekend but going to try and watch it as best I can. Then nothing for at least 2 wks so will give up the booze until then.
I'm good at the weekend if I'm not going out, I don't really tend to drink in the house unless friends are over.0 -
Love this thread! I am a weekend Lush, really just a Saturday lush, but I drink a lot that day! I mostly drink beer which by the end of the night I have drank a days worth of calories. Any ideas on low cal no sugary drinks?

WELLLLLL.... June not looking so good for me, so far. But today is a new day!!
Mon - 0
Tues - 4.5 (Miller Lites)
Wed - 6 (Bud Select 55s)
Here is to all of you who can abstain during the week and only indulge on the weekends. I remember those days not too long ago! And soon I'll want to do it again. It's hard to look at those calories when you log them and think "Man! I could have eaten a cheeseburger!" :noway:0 -
Good job Kim with your casino victory! I don't drink too much at the casino though either cause they are so damn expensive!
Marti, I'm so with ya on the cheeseburger thing. It's amazing to me when I see how many calories I have left on days I don't drink!
I'm still at 0 for this week but this guys that might be buying the bar that I manage is having a birthday party tonight and invited me and my husband to go. I don't really want to go but I don't want him to buy the bar and be butt-hurt that I blew off his birthday and fire me. He had a party last week for his girlfriends birthday and I guess it was absolutely insaine so I have a feeling even if I show up i'll end up helping my bartender instead of drinking.0 -
I too am on a roll....
Tuesday = 0
Wednesday = 0
Tonight is a hard one though, a Sine Die (end of Legislative Session) party for work and then a kickball game (really an excuse to drink). My goal is zero. In reality though I know I will probably have one drink...but just one would still be a victory!0 -
I havent done a 0 in a loooooong time..............I flexed a bottle of wine last night...........0

I have also wondered that too, if I cut back the cals and use them for beer will I still lose weight?0

So happy to have found this thread. Esp now that the weather is getting nicer and the sun stays out a bit longer it is nice to sit outside with a glass of wine or cold beer.0

I have also wondered that too, if I cut back the cals and use them for beer will I still lose weight?
But I *rarely* go over my alloted calories. If I drink, I log those calories. I've hit a plateau. I'm thinking it might be the alcohol. I exercise 6 days a week. The alcohol is the only thing I can think of at this point that is keeping that scale where it is. Very frustrating. :grumble:0 -

I really think a calorie is a calorie....although alcohol does burn differently than other foods. The body (I'm pretty sure) burns alcohol first, therefore if you have a drink with a meal, the alcohol will burn first leaving the food to digest at a slower rate. So, unless I am out to dinner, I usually eat before I start drinking.
I just account for all my booze calories and fit them in where I can....don't get me wrong I have my days where I just don't give a crap BUT for the most part I think you will be successful0 -

IF I can drink and still stay within my allowed calories, I'm fine and can lose weight. But MY problems is I drink, then get the munchies and eat, then forget what I ate - or just don't care! :laugh:0 -

Oh, I hear ya, I've done that too!!! Usually the next day if I really overindulge. (can you say cheeeeseburger?)
But I'm talking about having a glass of wine or 2 at night. Usually while i cook or with dinner. I always log that in and stay within my calories..and I'm not seeing the pounds come off lately.
I'm going to lay off the alcohol for a while, see if it makes a difference.0 -
For those looking for a low-cal substitute for what can be a pretty high-cal cocktail (and an awesome summer drink if you're in an area like me where it's already approaching 100 degrees each day), try a Skinny Girl Margarita.
You can actually buy them prepackaged in some places (just Google Skinnygirl for a list of retailers), or you can make a decent one yourself with a shot of tequila, club soda, and lime juice to taste. Very light and refreshing for about 100 calories.0
