the picture in my profile shows me over 34% body fat and then me right at 20% (measured with calipers).

I'm 5' 7.25" and the weights at each time are on my photo at that given time.

The day I got CALIPERED at 19.8% my Tanita digital scale (foot pads only) read 34%. Those things are a joke in my case.

THANK YOU! My scale has been saying 34% or so for the last 2 years, and I've lost almost 20 lbs, but it still says 34%. Glad to know I'm not crazy!

Lol. My Tanita only changes when my feet are cold (I am way fatter when cold, lol). But the average matches the Army calculation strangely enough...

Damn! How are you all getting defined six packs at 19%? I thought you needed to be under 15! I'm around 16-18, I do ab work, and my abs barely have definition. I guess that's just were my fat likes to hang?

I am 5'7" and 124 pounds. My profile pic is pretty recent. According to online calculators I am between 20 and 25%. I have been thinking of getting that caliper thing and seeing what that says!! I would like to be 18 or 19%

Anyone know a more accurate way to get this tested? Military fat calculator puts me at 27-28 and i sure as hell don't look it compared to the lovely slim looking ladies i see have posted at 27-28.

Based on that picture, there's no WAY you're anywhere close to the 25% range. I'd be surprised if it was any higher than about 18.5% unless your legs are gigantic drums of fat!

No way you are 25%. Some online calculators have me at 24-26%. Calipers (just tested) say just under 19%. I think I still have some room - so I'm not sure what my true BF is, but I know for sure I'm not 26%!!!

You look great - I'd guess you were about 18%

You are lean as heck. I'd guess around 15%. I don't know how online calculators are giving you that number.

I've used four different methods: calculator, calipers, and a scale. They all put me between 16 and 18, but people are posting saying they are 19 and higher, and they look WAY leaner than I do. Everyone is always touting BF% as the best measurement, but I am pretty baffled.

I worked it out to be 13.6% with the military bf calc, and it must be so wrong cos that seems incredibly low and I know I have more fat than that lol. One day I will get it done properly because I would love to know.

That sounds about right to me with your height. You look great!

Do you think the Tanita is inaccurate? My gym uses that and it has my bf% as 28% but I feel leaner than that. Maybe I should have the caliper thing done. I have been clocking in hours at the gym and eating lots of protein to get that number to go down.

I was told by a specialist that tanita is very accurate and in fact, the difference between the caliper and the tanita is that the caliper does not consider the amount of fat that is distributed between your internal organs and tanita is able to consider all the fat you have distributed in your body. In my case the caliper indicates 20% while tanita says 30%.

    Im about 22%.. 5'9", 146 lbs

You're almost exactly my stats! 5'9.5", 147 lbs and I had my body fat measured at the gym on a digital reader, as well as cross checked it online. Mine is 21.9%.

Sorry I don't have a better body pic to show; I'll try to post one stat!

    Hi guys!

Here's me a few days ago, at 17.8% BF. I'm 5' 0" and 109 lbs, for reference. I'd like to get lower, into the 16% area, but I lost my period and I don't want to get down lower in an unhealthy way. I still feel like I have some areas (of course) where there's more fat than I'd like, but overall I'm a lot healthier- I was at 31% BF when I started my workout routine in Sept of 2012 (6 months ago).

I guess I will jump in here on this as much as I don't want to post due to the embarrassment of my weight and body shape. But here goes.

This is the results I got from the Home test:

    You have 27.5% body fat.

You have 49.2 Pounds of fat and 129.8 Pounds of lean (muscle, bone, body water).

Which to me sounds about right as that is about the weight I want to get to.
