I found this shocking image today with the accompanying article:
So I Should Skip Brunch?!
Ugh. This totally ruined me for my typical Sunday food-fest. This is an actual scan of a 250 pound woman and a 120 pound woman. The fat along the arms and legs actually doesn’t bother me a bit, it’s what seems to be going on in the abdominal area that scares the bejesus out of me and is making me think I should nix the french toast this morning (even if it was going to be with whole grain bread).

WOW!!! Thanks for this posting going to show this to everyone!!!0

Have you guys noticed the difference in the sizes of the hearts?0
-
One of the serious things to note here is the visceral fat in the 250 lb woman. This is the type of fat that surrounds the internal organs rather than sitting between the muscle and skin like subcutaneous fat. Visceral fat is highly inflammatory and causes a much greater risk of heart disease. The liver in the 250 lb woman is also enlarged...could be due to fatty deposits, 'non-alcoholic fatty liver disease'.
(The black in her gut isn't necessarily poop...notice that their bladders and lungs also look black).0 -
Everyone should have this on their refrigerator. Thanks for sharing.0

BUMP FOR LATER.0

Someone sent me a scan like that a few weeks ago. I was like "Whoa.." I've never been that overweight, but it's such an eye-opener to really see how hard having all that excess fat is on your body. You can see the legs are under a huge strain, as is the entire abdominal area. Ouch.0
