    Hi Ladies,

Kim- Keep up the great work . 3+ loss is fabulous & something I haven't seen for me yet.
Kristen- Glad your in a weird-good mood. As for getting your water in. Here is a though: 2 cups as soon as you wake up, 1cup w/lunch, 2 cups on ride home from work, 1Cup w/dinner. And if you can fit 1 or 2 more in, that will be 8 cups. Water for me is hard to get in because I get bored with it and I usually only get 5-6 cups per day average.
Katy- Wow! 773 cals in 72 minutes. That is a surprise you can burn so much in PT. Sounds like you are doing very well in PT. How are you feeling?

It's going on 2pm and I have not even started to study yet today. I got up and cleaned the kitchen, made a grocery list, cut coupons, went exercising for 1 hour combo at community center, then to the grocery store. Next, stopped by friends to pick up an order of card making supplies, which I probably won't get to use for 3 months. Put the groceries away, started my soup for dinner. Made a phone call, checked e-mail and now I'm finally here. And sadly I must go study now.

    Have a great day everyone:happy:

    Good afternoon ladies!

Sounds like everyone is having a good day today. I am home for the day with the little one. He has an ear infection. That means I have not gotten in any exercise at all today. That is a bummer. I am going to make myself get to the gym tonight! Eating is going ok today.

Breakfast was Multigrain Cherrios, skim milk and 1/2 apple
Snack is premeasured package of raw trail mix from Trader Joes
Lunch - have not gotten there.

This is my day so far.

Cass- I am glad things are looking up. We hope to have your wonderful bubbly personality back with us soon!

Kristin- That is hard to not be able to get that water in like you used to do! It is hard to gulp it down fast too! You did loose though so it doesnt seem to have made a huge impact at this point. You will figure this out before it does!

Deb- Im feeling good, still sore and all but the pain isnt as often as it was before! Im hoping only another week or so of PT! Thanks for asking

Blah- So Im just feeling ravenous today! I know why too..Just didnt get to eat when I should have!
I skipped my main source of protein at bfast, missed my morning snack(grocery shopping) and missed my afternoon snack(at the vet & napping)! And I havent drank as much water today yet that I usually do! I ended up grazing on 2 mini pastry things, a lindt chocolate ball with white choc in the middle (not too bad) and then an ENTIRE bag of popcorn (minus a few handfuls from my daughter) after my nap (which we woke up from at 6pm)! :grumble: It was just the quickest thing to grab..well just what I felt like grabbing..Just not making wiser decisions today! I was full after the popcorn, but not the content Im not hungry full- I still felt hungry, just bloated as well! So I thought for a minute and decided I needed something higher protein to satisfy better..So I ate a snack size cottage cheese. Feeling full now, so I guess popcorn and cottage were my dinner :noway: LOL What a day!! Maybe tomorrow I can be a lil better... Just had to come on and vent a little - thanks for listening ladies :flowerforyou:

Oh Katy...we all have those days. It's OKAY...you will be fine. Tomorrow is a new day!:flowerforyou:

I had a FABULOUS evening! Went to the gym after work. Got in a 20 minute run (only burned 150 calories) but then a GREAT BodyPump class (460 calories!) AND I got the BEST BEST BEST compliment EVER!!!! Before BodyPump started, I was in the room setting up. This girl who I don't know came up and told me that she's been sick for about 2 weeks and can TOTALLY tell the difference in my body! She said that I totally convince her to stick with BodyPump! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? :noway: ME!!!  I've NEVER noticed my body shaping, but when I told my hubby he said he can totally tell too! Talk about a motivator!!!!!!  I am SUPER pumped to keep at it full swing! And I swear I worked a little extra hard this evening! Anyways...I'm going to bed with about 100 extra calories, but I'm not hungry in the evenings anymore...NO idea why. Oh well. Here's the plan for tomorrow:

B-1 c. Multigrain Cheerios, 1/2 c. skim milk, 1 med. banana, 10 raspberries, PlumSmart Light juice, multivitamin.
    S-2 c. coffee, 2 tbsp. sugar-free creamer, soft-baked TLC breakfast bar.
L- Campbells Select Harvest light SW Veggie soup (100 calories...YUM!) , baby carrots, YoLite yogurt, diet coke, oyster crackers.
S-med. apple, 100 cal. pack almonds, TLC granola bar.
D-HomeMade Soy Chicken with Broccoli with black bean garlic sauce.
S-????Like always, depends on remaining calories.

Exercise plan--45 minute step class, 15 minute Ab workout.

Tomorrow should be another great day! This week is FLYIN by! Have a GREAT night my girls, and remember THE POWER IS IN YOUR OWN HANDS!!!!! WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!

    Sleep tight!

Katy, sorry to hear that you're not happy with your day but as Kristin said, tomorrow is a fresh one and YOU CAN DO IT!

Kristin, YOU GO GIRL!! That's fabulous. What a great feeling! See?? YEAH!

I also had a great night at the gym. In my class I usually burn around 450 cals but tonight it was 700!! Not only was the choreography tougher and the music faster this week, but I was totally busting it. LOVE that feeling. And my supper was so yummy tonight. I have to go make a protein shake to use up at least SOME of my extra cals.. I'll end the day around 200 under but that's okay for a day here and there.

I'm feeling SOOOOO happy being back on the motivated train again. I don't know WHAT happened the last few weeks (maybe all the company we were hosting??) but I'm stoked to feel like ME again. I was well on my way to missing out on any chance for my first mini-goals list check-point (to be at 173lbs by Hallowe'en) but maybe I still have a shot. It's a bit of a long shot at this point but at least I feel like these things are POSSIBLE again!!

Okay, time to go watch Heroes and drink a chocolate protein shake. :drinker:

    Let's kick it tomorrow ladies!!!

I missed popping on here yesterday. So good to see everyone's good days and good losses!

Yesterday, I had cinnamon vanilla protein shake made with almond milk for breakfast.
Dropped off everyone at school and went to the gym, did 15 minutes on the bike, 15 on the rowing machine, and made it to water aerobics for an hour. I had swung by the store on the way to the Y and grabbed a box of south beach diet maple nut bars (I absolutely love them) and a banana, because snack time falls directly in the middle of the aerobics class. So, I ate the protein bar before, and the banana in the car after... lol

Unfortunately, our dishwasher died, so I spent an hour after that at the appliance store with my husband (who would have thought it would take so long?) then went grocery shopping. I turned down his offer of lunch, because he was going to the burger joint, but it got me thinking about yummy greasy burgers, so I ate another protein bar on the way to the store. Good thing I did, because I was there for 2 1/2 hours! Yup. 2 1/2 hours. Family of 6, two teenagers in there, it's a lot of food. I also have to hit every department and take notes, because I am a secret shopper there. And I'm a coupon shopper, so it takes me a while, although this was an extreme. I did save 80 dollars though. Yeah me!

Came home and made a quick sandwich of chicken and cheese on a Miami Onion Roll from the store bakery. I'm sure they aren't the best for me, but definately better than the raspberry pillows I was eyeing up. Washed all the dishes from the night before (I am so glad they are able to deliver the new dishwasher at noon today) and fixed dinner. Chicken and brown rice done in the oven, while I ran kids to activities. The house smelled delicious when I got home! Had broccoli and cauliflower on the side.

Today, I've got to work, so am making scrambled eggs with onion, spinach, red and green peppers. 1 egg, two egg whites. Can't seem to get past that final egg yolk!

Snack, protein shake made with skim milk.

lunch, spinach salad with tomato, red onion, raisins, mushrooms, and some chopped up chicken from last night.

Sneak to the Y between library mom and picking up one of the kids from fiddle club and another from cross country...I'll have an hour and a half, so weight training, and one of the cardio machines.

snack... Not sure, thinking banana and cottage cheese though.

dinner, Mike's taking his 3 kids to the Shaft for nachos. I'll be at land training with Brandon... So, I have no idea. Maybe pick him up something from the Shaft to go on the way home, and I'll eat leftover chicken and rice from last night? Ooohhh, I can chop it into bite size, sprinkle some spices on it, and make a fajita with peppers and onions... Any other ideas?

Sorry this is so long, will have to try to pop on more often so you gals don't feel like you're reading a novel....

    morning, morning, morning.....
been up for awhile. dear darling hubby woke me up at 4:30:blushing: :smooched: . he works nights. soooo...
anyway, he's gone back to bed hours ago. i have since did my BL cardio max burned 635. downed 8 glassed of water. (done for the day). and doing shower thing and than wait for the ups man to show up and deliver my new medic alert gold overlay braclet i ordered. i have had the old simple silver one. but, i wear gold and wanted something nicer. i have been asking for it for Christmas, but, no one has bought it for me, so i got it myself.
saturday, granddaughter (7) is having an autum day at school, so going to that. changed time we were to look at houses again. i don't want to interupt my family time for that. it can be changed. son is the one moving not me. he just doesn't like doing it alone. he can wait until later.
so far i have drank my daily water and stayed away from the scale and have had 200 or less in calories for the last 2 days. today looks good too.
Robin....where do you get your coupons? i sure can't find them much any more. and do you shop at the same store? use double coupon days? is it really cheaper than an off brand? sorry so many questions. just wondered i tried it a few times and it didn't work well,
    check back later.

    Good Morning,

Today will have to be a better day than yesterday. I was in the same boat as Katy, feeling ravenous and went over my calories. I was craving sugar again. I didn't get in my water, so that is one of my challenges this week (get in 6-8 glasses of water every day).:drinker: I had a diet coke and wonder if that contributed to my sugar issue.

I have already done the shred dvd today and am on my fourth glass of water.

    Today:
1: egg beater omlette & toast & coffee
    2: apple
    3: sub
4: angel hair pasta & bolognese sauce
    5: popcorn

Katy, Do you want to help keep eachother on track for drinking all of our water this week?
Kristen, Awesome compliment, especially when it's unexpected from someone who may not know your trying to lose weight.
Pedal, Glad your back on track & feeling good.
Cathy, Good job getting everything in for the day already.
Robin, The cinnamon vanilla protein shake with almond sounds wonderful. How do you make that one?

    Have a great day everyone:happy:

    Good morning Ladies,

Sounds like everyone is off to a fantastic day!

I have been thinking about what I can do to ramp up the eating a little more. I would like to take a week and try to eat nothing but whole foods. I need to do a little research on this but I think I will do it the week of the 23rd. My DH will be hunting. I can make the kids their meal and have mine without trying to figure this out for the whole family. I am curious to see how this makes me feel overall. I am sure it will be nothing but good. It will be a challenge for sure as I do grab protien bars, etc to rely on and get through the day.

We are sad this morning. we took in a dog end of last week. She was lost and a friend of mine couldnt keep her. We have tried to find the owner through every channel possible but no one is claiming her. She is a sweet little Brittany Spaniel. One problem. She wont leave my cat alone. She chases him all over the house. So last night she actually mouthed the cat. She didnt hurt him but it was the deciding factor. We cant keep her.  So we are on a hunt to find her a new owner yet again. She will make someone a wonderful dog!

    Food today...

Breakfast, DH made me a nonfat, decaf chai latte, yum! Also Kashi Cinnamon Harvest Cereal w/ rasberries
    Snack- Kashi Ripe Strawberry bar
Lunch-6 inch turkey on wheat from Subway
Snack-1 pre packaged single serve Trader Joes Raw fruit and nut mix
    Dinner-Carnitas tacos
    Snack-??

Exercise is either 7 mile walk or to the gym. Have not decided. It wont happen until boys are at school.

    Chat with everyone later!

Amy, absolutely 100% you should buy the Eat-Clean Diet for Families book by Tosca Reno. She has two books now, this one just released in August. I am very militant about whole, natural, organic foods and making fun and delicious meals from that, and this is an eating style that is VERY familiar and comfortable to me, and I still learned a lot of great tips not to mention recipes. And the recipes in there will mean that you WON'T have to cook separately for your children. You will be SO glad you did.

Amy, sorry to hear about the dog!

Chipper, always a nice start to the day :blushing: Good for you for having so much done already!

Deb, getting the water in can be hard. I just make sure I've always got a glass going and it really helps!

Cass, how are you feeling today? Have a great one girl :flowerforyou:

    KDSmith, HI!

Bunny, sounds like a busy day. Enjoy

Well, I'm off to a great start again today feeling like a million bucks  I had a decent sleep again last night which is so helpful. I've also opted to not necessarily avoid the scale for this final week as I'm keeping a really close eye on things just in case. I'll go back to weekly check-ins next week as we begin the new challenge! The thing that amazes me is that TOM just arrived but I'm still DOWN on the scales. Interesting! But I also don't gain weight during pregnancy so I guess my body has decided to just not be affected by those hormones when it comes to weight.

Okay, here's today's food. Then I've got to go eat some!

1: egg white omelet with alfalfa sprouts, skim milk cheese & salsa

2: cinnamon raisin Ezekiel toast w/ olive butter and fruit juice-sweetened raspberry jam

    3: 1/2 cup brown rice w/ 2 tbsp hummus

    4: 1 banana

5: chocolate protein shake and last night's sole fillet stir fry left-overs on brown rice

6: grilled chicken breast over brown rice w/ steamed purple cauliflower, carrots & broccoli tossed in olive oil & balsamic vinegar topped with toasted sesame seeds

I would like to either do a power walk or Turbo Jam or something today and definitely some weights in my living room.

Well, keep it up ladies!! Have a great one!

Amy...I TOTALLY wish I could take the dog as we have 2 britanny spaniels currently, but with our 2 cats also, we have a full house. I LOVE them! And my husband LOVES them! They are WONDERFUL hunters as well as great with kids and still my lap dogs! They also have become great companions with our 2 cats. And mouthing does happen, but it is all in play. My cats are used to it now. It makes me so sad that no one wants that wonderful dog! The two I have, although stubborn at times, have been a great blessing to our family! I hope you find her a home. She will be in my prayers.:flowerforyou:

Rhiannon...sounds like a GREAT start to your day! Keep it up!

Deb...sounds like your day will be good also!

    Cathy...GOOOOD mornin'! Sounds like a happy start!

    Cass...how are you today hunny?:flowerforyou:

    HELLO EVERYONE ELSE!!!!!

You guys are sooo wonderful! Thanks so much for asking how I am. You don't know what it means to me. I'm doing good. Much better....journaling helps and just "trying" to relax.

Lagum....its a Swedish word I learned in counseling. The English language has no direct translation....it means...."just as it should be"...sort of. lol....Let me just say that I have very very deep rooted issues with being a failure, a dissapointment and "not good enough". It manifests itself in so many crazy ways....ie, extreme house cleaning sessions, eating 100% "clean" and then bingeing, working out in extremes, expecting perfect behavior from a 3 year old, controling the finances...and on and on...basically I have struggled with anxiety directly related to being a failure as a human my whole life. So...Lagum....it doesn't mean good enough (that indicates it should be improved upon), it doesn't mean satisfactory (again, that word indicates it should be improved)....Lagum....its an adjective discribing something....just as it should be....you could improve it; but no one would ever want to do so. It is just as it should be.

So this is what I'm trying to come to terms with in my life. It may sound like a small thing to some...but to me....its not. Fear has ruled over my life for so so so many years....fear of failure, fear of disappointment, fear of the persepective of the outside world. I have to over come my fear and change my thinking so that other opinions do not even come into my thought process.

SO....I need to be selfish and concentrate on me and my opinion and not everyone elses.

Oh a happy note, I bought Shred last night and a difference workout. Not Tae bo, sadly....but a resistance band workout. They didn't have any good Tae bo's at Target...so I'll try this one out and see what I think. I'm so completely committed to losing this weight its crazy. Even though its been a tough week, I haven't gone crazy with the food. I've been making good choices and I'm proud of that. So I know that I'm in the right mind set to do this.

    :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

    Thank you everyone....for listening.

Cass...HUGS HUGS and more HUGS!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: You are doing something GREAT, my dear, and you will learn to accept yourself for the wonderful person that you are. Lagum...what a WONDERFUL word and something that we should all keep in the back of our mind. Thanks for sharing, and like Amy said, we are here for you...EVERY step of the way!:flowerforyou:
  • oh guys....I think I"m gonna cry.... and not even being silly or facisious. I really feel a lump in my throat. My counselor said I'm in the perfect place....because this isn't about anyone else...this is about me and guess what...I CONTROL ME....so identifying the issue and putting a name to them have really helped me to feel more positive about things.

The easy part is over...the hard part begins...and that is making choices each day to not fall into the pattern of my life..but to make new choices and new patterns.

God brought me here, with all of you...for a reason...and I believe is was divine timing. Thank you for listening and supporting.

Now, its time for me to kick it up a notch! In the gym and in my life.

  • hahahah yeah I was just thinking....what happened to not getting on during the day. lol....

I missed you when you weren't here.

So I'm going to try to get under 190 before Tuesday and then have less than 40 pounds to lose....That's my goal right now....I have NO CLUE what I weigh right now...I don't think I gained TOO much more...but I know I gained some...so I am just going to try my hardest to eat well and workout, but not obess about it or feel like a failure if it doesn't happen.

I just feel better when I'm working out...so that has to be my motivation...feeling better!!

You can do it!!! You'd be surprised....I thought for sure I had gained for this week with my "falling off" last week. I didn't work out at all Wednesday-Friday, went to SPinning on Saturday, but ate all kinds of crappy food in those few days. And I LOST a pound! So...we are changing our bodies in ways we don't even realize...it's like they just know that we will get back on track and so don't hang on to the excess calories. I'm sure you will be fine! Let's do it together!!! I REALLY want to break into the 150s!!!! That's a big goal by next week and I probably won't hit it, but it pushes me to work hard when I keep it as my focus!!!

    WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!

Now...I have to get back to work but I'll check back later!

Cass, HUG!!! You have no idea how well I understand your issues. I'm very much the same way, have lived completely in fear of disappointment (being disappointing, being a burden and so on). It's a big struggle to overcome those things but I am getting there and you sure will too!!!

Kristin, cheating as it may be, it's great to see you here still

I'm SO stoked about the next challenge.

Alright, more of my day. I had a chocolate bar today (WHAT was I thinking?! lol) but I know it's okay to have an occasional treat and over the course of the week it won't matter. I'm back to working hard and that's the important part!

Hey Rhiannon! I feel your pain about the chocolate bar...I had a big bag of Animal Crackers (250 calories):noway: Oh well...I'm sure I can burn it off in Step tonight!

Everyone is so pumped up for this next challenge. We are going to all go into the new year feeling wonderful about ourselves. It will be nice to not have the first thing on my New Years resolution be 1. LOOSE ALOT OF WEIGHT AND GET INTO SHAPE THIS YEAR! (we will already be on our way! ). The current challenge, although I didnt loose much at all, has gotten me mentally prepared for the next! Watch out as I plan to kick some butt!
  • HUGS!! Thannks Rhiannon, its great to have someone know how I'm feeling....just to know that I"m not alone and someone can empythise (spelling?).

So I totally have to toot my own horn right now....I'm sooo proud of myself. Shane and I didn't have enough time to make lunches this morning so we said...lunch out today...well....I was sitting here thinking about what I wanted to eat and what was going to be the healthiest option. And I decided to check out what I had here at work already. Sooooo instead of eating out and using like 700 calories or some God awful number....I made the CHOICE to have some organic soup and crackers instead. I also have apples and oatmeal and cottage cheese and grapes incase this isn't enough to fill my tummy...

so since I'm AWESOME and made a good CHOICE for my lunch my day will look like....

homemade egg sandwich and coffee....380 calores (shane made it with reg cheese instead of my low cal stuff. :grumble: but hey, he made it and I didn't so can't complain too much)
    Activia yogart...110
Soup and Crackers and apple ......225
    Cottage Cheese and grapes....160
Lemon Chicken, broccilli, maybe scalloped potatoes (but I have to check how many calories on in them)

I'm going to do Shred (I bought it last night!!!) and the first 10 mins of the AB JAM from Turbo Jam...Its standing ab work and I like it waaaay more than the last 10 mins.

I am going grocery shopping tonight too...anyone having some really yummy food that would give me some good ideas? Dinners are my hardest....

Amy, I'm totally with you...I didn't lose much for this challenge, but it got me in the mindset that I want to do AWESOME for the next one...and six weeks is perfect for keeping me on task!

    Thanks Chicas.....

Okay, I know this will be the third time I've mentioned it in 2 days but here is my BEST referral for everyone:

Invest $20 and get yourself a copy of the Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook or the Eat-Clean Diet for Families and Kids both by Tosca Reno. The families one is half book, have cookbook but there are still 60 recipes in there and almost all are different from the first book (which has around 150 recipes). Honestly if you can do it I'd just buy both. Well, I DID just buy both  so there ya go!

But you can have a different breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks every day for 2 weeks with these and it's all delicious and SO VERY healthy and it's practically the cookbook manual that naturally accompanies what we're doing. I have lots of great cookbooks because I adore cooking but I turn to these more than any other. SO MANY ideas for meals and the thing with the second book (for families and kids) is that really what makes it for families and kids (when it comes to the recipes) is that it's really just for busy people. A lot of stuff you can pack to take with you or make then use left-overs in different ways. The first half which is just about the whole clean eating thing and ways to incorporate into challenging situations is geared toward parents but is still bang-on for anyone.
The thing is, most cookbooks I get (even vegan ones) I like some or most but not all of the recipes, and still have to modify recipes for sugar or salt or other content about which I'm specific. But these two are perfect just as they are, and she doesn't skimp on the things that make food taste good.

Okay, I'll try to stay off my Tosca Reno soap box for now
