Just got a rude comment on the street : (

Assuming no witness I would have seriously kicked his bike over and ran.
Who are the police gonna believe, some crazy old kook or some sweet innocent young lady?0 -
what a complete and total idiot! People who say things like that have more problems that we know. Feel sorry for him. Dumba**.0
-
Ugh! What a complete jerk! I don't understand people and their actions. How can people be that rude and go on merrily with their day?
I was given advice by a very wise person when I was having an off day. She told me to not take offense to things. I asked her how is it that I can accomplish that. She told me: "to take offense means that the other person's opinion matters than my own opinion and that should NEVER be the case."
His opinion or remark should be like a cloud that floats away and never touches you. Let those words blow away. You know your path and goals and that remark does not apply here. He's a jerk and if someone's a jerk that automatically counts as an unimportant opinion.0 -
hey i've just seen this. I hope you're feeling ok now and have totally disregarded his comment. I'm not sure what your heritage is as you have no picture, but in some countries that's seen as a complimant. Maybe just maybe that's how he meant it???
I used to get called thunder thighs alot and when I was younger it seemed a bad thing, but now I love having big strong legs. take it with a pinch of salt girl, he doesn't know you or your struggle. move on from it and just focus on your own personal goal
Thats funny that you said that about some countries lol My favorite movie is Monique's "Phat Girls" and the guy she falls for is a hottie Nigerian man (I mean smokin hott lol) and he says that the size of a woman in Nigeria shows how "rich" she is If this is true I must be a frikkin billionaire!!!! I think I need to watch that movie now lol0 -
What a jerk! Hopefully, he will fall off of his bike. hehehe0
-
You are doing great..... I wouldnt let a jerk like that get to you. Usually people like that have to put someone down in order to make themselves feel good. I would have released my dog on him after I pushed him off his bike..... Mentally stable or not that would've taught him. :-)0
-
What an *kitten*! You don't deserve that. I'd throw a stick in the spokes of his wheels next time lol
 My sentiments exactly!0 -
Wow, some people never cease to amaze me!
What a jerk..how would he like to be called a retard?
I hated even saying that but that is the rudest thing someone can do to
someone out obviously trying to better their health and physique!!!
JEEEEEEEEEEEERK!!!!!!!
Keep your head held high, you are awesome and he isn't!!!!! :flowerforyou:
I totally agree that no one should be called anything derogatory and with total disregard. This being said, I understand where the above person is coming from, but please don't use the "r" word. This has been taken totally out of context in today's society and used for stupid, dumb, etc. My daughter is handicapped, but she is neither stupid or dumb. She is very smart, even though she was brain-injured at birth. Thank you.0 -
Wow.....that is rude......wonder if he's ever heard of a bell.....you know the kind you buy to go on your bike to warn people you are coming?
I would have been livid!0 -
Just a note, we lived in an Asian culture for 5 yrs and they thought nothing of calling my hubby and I big boy and big girl. In asian culture big people are "rich and successful". They consider it a compliment. So we can't let other people's perceptions of us rule our minds and hearts. We must decide who we are and how we will receive love and respect from those around us. If we let comments ruin our days we are doomed to living our lives by the values of others. We get to decide who we are and what our value is. Hope you find a way to let his comment steer you to a better self-worth and loving your self more and more!0

I was just out walking my dog, and some older guy came up behind me riding his bike. I think he was trying to warn me that he was there, but his method for doing so was to say, "Watch out, big girl!" I have actually seen this guy around before, and I think he might have some sort of mental illness, but, nonetheless, this made me want to cry. So I thought I'd come and post here for moral support. Thanks for listening.

Wow - thank you all so much! I posted my comment, packed up my computer, and walked to a local coffee shop to work on some stuff, and just in that time, I've gotten all of this wonderful support! You've really brightened my day!0

I would've said "F U *kitten*..." I can always lose weight but there is no cure for ugly and stupid!!! Now go take a long bike ride off a short pier and get the hell outta my way.... "0 -

He's a douche. Water off a ducks back, he doesn't matter. People don't understand the power of words, but the good thing about them is that they only have the power you allow them to have. hugs honey.0 -
You just needed to respond similarly idiotic - like, "Thanks for warning me, skinny, rude bicycle dude!"0
-
At least it was just a random stranger. When I was in 8th grade, my grandmother got remarried and, trying to be nice, I said "your dress is really pretty". She responded with "yeah, maybe if you lose a hundred pounds you can wear it one day". Keep in mind I was 14 years old and if I had lost a hundred pounds, I would have weighed somewhere around 50 pounds. A few years ago I saw her again and she made a comment behind my back (which I was in earshot of) about "look how fat she is". I turned around and said "I can lose weight, but you can't anti-age". Since then, I've lost almost 60 pounds, but she's still getting older.0

Good advice for all of us.0 -
Wow, I'm very sorry to hear someone, mentally ill or not, would say something so cruel. Try not to let it get you down any longer. He's a jerk and doesn't deserve your mental energy! Carry on beautiful woman!!!0
-
Maybe he said "bee girl". Maybe you reminded him of the girl from the No Rain video by Blind Melon.0

LOLLLL I love this XD0 -
How'd that saying go? "I may be fat but you're ugly and I can lose weight." Just remember you're losing weight but he'll probably be stuck with that illness and personality problem for the rest of his life.0

People are nuts..... I was in TJ Maxx once and picked up a orange sherbert colored zipper hoodie and matching pants. An eastern European lady with a thick accent said to me..... "big people shouldn't wear bright colors"....... I said to her "Oooo darling... I hope this is a language barrier thing and you were just trying to say tall people!"...... WTF? Seriously?? So shake it off, I laughed at her, he is an insensitive clown.0

Just ignore *kitten* like him!0
