mornin' mornin' mornin' all.....
just finished a nice walk outside for my light exercise today. just a little over 1.50 miles by pedometer. i will have to measure it by the car for sure. my HRM isn't working. i had put it in my gym bag yesterday and when i got home i unpacked it and it was blank. so i don't know what happened. i opened it up and let it dry out. now you can barely see the numbers. i still can't set it. i went and got new batteries and that didn't work. DH says maybe it finally died. well, if that's the case you better get me one for Christmas:happy: .
pedal...glad the news is getting better. pig out on healther foods. the other day when i really wanted to eat for stress i over did the spag. squash, with chicken, veggies. only 150 for a cup or more.
yea, for scale jumpers for showing a loss. i also showed a little this mornig. take that last pill tonight.....
todays holiday tip....make a veggie tray with your fav dip (make low cal), so while everyone is snacking on other things before the meal begins you can keep grabbing a carrot stick. than you get full and won't over eat at the meal....
well off for a yogurt and than do some house cleaning/laundry.

Just a quick hello, glad I'm not the only scale jumper today!!
Could have all been destroyed though as i went to starbucks and got my 130 calorie Skinny Cinnamon Dolce latte and ended up getting the yikes banana nut loaf too!! not good. But I know i burn a lot during football and my meals are pretty sporadic and light today so hopefully i can make it work. By golly it tasted good though!!

Thanks for all the support guys. I'm trying to push through this. If I can't manage this (I think it's Seasonal Affective Disorder), I'll check with my doc for prescription help. I think I will be able to deal with this on my own though.... just gotta keep pushing forward!

Deb - I actually like the idea of weighing in twice a week. I do my "formal" weigh in on Fridays and a Tuesday weigh in for this challenge.
Katy - you are making SUCH great progress!!! I just recently changed my ticker from weight lost to weight left to lose. I started getting too cocky and complacent, seeing how much I had lost. I needed to be reminded of my goal.... 25 more lbs. Seems like such a small number compared to what I've lost, but man is this the hardest 25 I've ever dealt with! :laugh: But keep up the good work girl!
Pett - it's good to hear you went through it last week, meaning my 'next week' could prove to be so much happier!!

I haven't had a chance to read everyone's comments BUT I promise I will because I'm sure you ladies will give me inspiration because I'm in need of it.
I'm a social worker and my job is very stressful at times and consciencely trying to lose weight adds added stress but it helps me when I know that I am not in it alone and there are people who will help me stay motivated.
I just wanted to say thank you for trying to live healthy lives and being able to see your flaws and the nerve to keep going. It helps me and I'm sure someone else.

AHHHHH :glasses: It's a beautiful sunny crisp day here. We live a block from the ocean (lucky me!) and there's a beautiful path all along the ocean coast. I just set Ava & Leith up in the stroller w/ some healthy snacks, leashed the dog, and went for an extended C25K session outside. BOY was it NICE!! I went for 35 minutes rather than 20 because I just didn't want to stop! Usually I use the treadmill so I can be consistent with speed for each interval but I can't go to the gym today and I really wanted to get some exercise. It was just so great :bigsmile: I'll have to take advantage of all the sunny days this winter and get runs in. I can't believe my knees are holding up thus far!!
My meals for today are:
1: 1/2 sprouted grain bagel w/ almond butter & banana slices (I'm loving that these days!)
2: chocolate protein shake
3: 1c broccoli w/ 2 tbsp hummus, 1 med pear & 1 wild smoked salmon nugget
4: 15 raspberries, 3/4 cup peach yogurt w/ 1 tbsp flax meal
5: 1 slice sodium-free Ezekiel bread w/ hummus & alfalfa sprouts
6. yam & black bean stew w/ black japonica rice (I'll post the recipe later on)
7. 1 wild smoked salmon nugget
got my exercisr in although if my monkeys go to bed at a decent time I'll do my NYC Ballet workout too. I'm missing dance class today :frown: Possibly also a shred or something. I am feeling workout-ish today.
I'll be back later with personals too.. I need to get a couple of errands run downtown!0 -

But it's going to be homemade stew!
Exercise - 30 or more minute walk with the dogs (lost track!) and some free weights tonight!0 -
OK found better weight calculations (I had mine in oz so not everything was quite right)
Total for today so far is actually: 590 oops. That's a little low. I'm not really sure, but either way it's okay. I'm finding some variation on the calories listed for different foods so I'm going to start label checking against what's listed to be sure!0 -

a little while back someone in our group (don't remember who) asked you something in the lines of muscles. something about finding, strengthening them for a certain length of time and than the muscles begin toning. i have been watching for your answer, but, i guess you didn't see it. i will try to find it if you need it. if you could please tell me about this, i am so interesting in all this training stuff.

Hello. Sorry I haven't checked in this week. I did lose .5 lbs. I've been in a really blah kinda of mood. I start off my day really good with all my food, it start at night. I always end up splurging after dinner for desert. I don't know why. But, I'm not over doing it by much, because I do stick with only 1 serving instead of 2 or 3 like normal. I also don't fill the bowl with ice cream like I use to do. So, I guess in a way it's been then totally over doing it. I really hope this blahness goes away.
I'm glad to see everyone is doing so good. Pedel sorry to hear about your FIL. I'm glad he is doing better though. I know I found out one of my friends' FIL is dying of cancer. They didn't expect him to make through the weekend but he did. I haven't heard from her, so not sure how he's doing now. I ran into another old friend and her mother just had a stroke in the back of her head. So, I have lots of prayers going.
Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Thanks, for the tips Mom. My tip is if your going to a families house bring something good for YOU to indulge in. You'll find that many people end up liking it too, especially when they don't know it's good for them.:laugh:

I'm not doing bad keeping to my calories, and I always have a few left so I can snack later if I want, but I just changed my settings so I can track my sodium and fiber. What an eye opener! I knew I was relying on more "quick" foods this week, and my sodium sure shows it! In previous weeks, I was always below or under 100 over on my sodium. This week, I've been almost double my sodium 3 times already!:noway: I didn't realize how bad it was this week until just now. Fiber, I'm doing great on, almost always over 20, most times closer to 25. Just have to work on that sodium....0 -

Today I was told to be more stubborn than the scale!!! Staying focused on our goal and keep on pushing even when we don't see the results in numbers. Yay!!! We are almost to week 6. Lets work hard!!!

Let's see...last night I went over.:sad: My husband and I went out for dinner...AppleBees...I had the WW Chili-lime chicken salad (my FAV!) and some of the spinach artichoke dip Michael started with. I think the thing that got me was the red apple sangria...which I almost didn't order, but I LOVE it! So...I indulged. THEN...at home I had 1/2 c. Edys slow churned peppermint ice cream with cool whip free AND a tootsie pop...So...went over the allowed calories for the day...but it's okay. Just going to be careful today.

just blah today. it's really humid 88% and it's 73. when it's humid lik this i swell up, just hold the water. really struggled to get 45 mins at the gym. did 30 on treadmill and 15 weights. just couldn't get it movin'. i will take what i got. my HRM is dead. i might be able to talk DH into getting me a new on today, it's payday and it was a nice check. he gets commission + salary so it's alway different. i got the watch part to work somewhat it just won't transmit. i don't know what happened to it being in my gym bag. oh, well. also getting dr. oz's new book you being beautiful today.
i ate last night. i am cool with it. that could also be why i am bloated today along with weather. after i did it i felt a need to tell you guys. that's the way i feel here. if i do something off course, i need to confess.:ohwell:
off to shower and wake up DH and head out. maybe he can buy me lunch today. :bigsmile:

I went over calories by 5, but I'm sure I really didn't because of usual walking, laundry simple stuff that burns calories.
Today I burned and did alot of sweating. I work in a warehouse and usually am sitting at a desk in the office. Well, I went out for about 1.5 hrs and picked boxes. Didn't walk all that, but lifting is good. So, that woke me up today.
And what is this C25K that everyone is doing? I've never heard of that.
Here's what I've got for food today:
B- 2 slice of lite wheat toast w/light butter
S- SF pineapple strawberry jello and banana
L- 2 Lean Pockets, turkey, cheese, and broccoli
S- 100 cal cheesecake bar
D- Not sure. Don't have anything picked out. So we'll see.

Hello Ladies. Thank you Kristin and Rhiannon for the messages. I haven't been on in a while, and I see I'm not the only one going through some things. Rhiannon, I hope your FIL is doing better. I will pray for you and your family.
I don't really want to go into what is going on in my life...but lets just say...I'm not living at my house, not wearing my wedding ring and I have bruises on my body.
I haven't eaten much lately, and I haven't weighed in. I'm going to be going back to my house on Saturday and I'm going to try to start a routine for my daughter and me to get into to make things smooth through this time. One of those things is to go to bed earlier and to wake up early to get my workout in. When I've gone through tough times before, working out always made me feel more in control...of my body, of my mind..and it helped me to make better decisions.
My goals are the same...I just have more pressing issues to deal with at this moment. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. And those of you who pray, I'd love prayer for wisdom and strength.

Cass, I am so sorry to hear about what you are going through! My thoughts are with you and your daughter.
I am in a funk which seems so small in comparison to what some of you are going through. This time of year is hard as I am constantly reminded of the people who are no longer in my life. It has me a little down and that is why I have not been posting much. I have been here reading but not posting.
I want to get back to normal now!
So here is my food today...
breakfast- 2 eggs scrambled, shredded monterey cheese(small amount), 2 pieces whole wheat toast
snack- grande non fat chai tea latte from starbucks
lunch- ????
Dinner will be turkey tenderion, steamed veggies and baby red potatoes
I need some more snacks in there but not sure what they will be
I want to hit the gym tonight and I am for sure going tomorrow morning. I am going to take a class caled 24SET. This class got me into awesome shape really quickly before my youngest was born. I am hoping to see the same results!0
