Good plan today...I still don't know what is for dinner tonight and my motivation level to get to the gym is fading as the day continues. I think I need to leave work soon and get my butt there so I am not tempted to skip. Anyways...I hope everyone has a good rest of this Friday and I don't know how much I will be on this weekend, but i promise PROMISE that I will be doing good! Almost to our last week and I want to successfully be in the 150s by the end of this challenge!

my son had a rotten day. 1st the car thing, now his warehouse he works for is shutting down. so, the truch he found had to go back to the dealer. had to call the realtor and pull out of the house deal. than she had the gall to say just go through with it and not tell the morgage people. excuss me. where will he get the money to make payments when do. who to say how long his job hunt will go on. he might be moving back home now with us again. poor kid....

well i think i need to get something going for dinner and see what his plans are. if he is staying here or i need to take him home.

    Wow, hello ladies..

Seems like things are just happening to everyone..this time of year always gets crazy when so many unexpected things can happen..

Dont let stress get the upper hand..We are all strong, healthy wonderful women and we can get through this successfully

Cass- I hope you are able to get things back together for you and your daughter soon, you two are in my thoughts and if you need to talk, just let me know!:flowerforyou:

Cathy- That is rough what your son is going through, and I cant believe the real estate lady said that..but that does pull her commission out as well so Im not surprised that she suggested goingt through with it. I hope your son can find something soon and things work out for the best :flowerforyou:

So not much time for other personals- I will do that later on! Im at my sisters and it has been run run run - we were looking for shoes to go with my dress today, as well as a new bra, some SPANX(victoria secret version) and a shawl, type things to go over it. Found shoes a and bra, and spanx. Still need shawl type thing, and shoes for my daughter! I have yet to exercise since Monday :grumble: I havent been eating bad, but still feel lazy and guilty for not exercising. We are about to go eat with her FIL (he has adopted me and my daughter as DIL and grandchild as well lol). Not sure where we will eat. I will try to be healthy! My sister has an elliptical, but with a 6 yr old, 4 yr old and 3 yr old (our kids combined) it is hard to find the time in the evening to actually workout!!!! Well, Im off here and going to go change into jeans- found some brand new at a consignment store ($8)- size 14!!- to replace my size 18 black cargo pants Ive been safety pinning to fit me !!

Hope everyone has a great evening!!

    hey ladies.....
well woke to rain, off/on all morning. already up and out the door and back again until big lots opens. our eletric company has a yearly voting for officers. today was the voting. they give away a large prize for doing this. there is also drawings for one of their trucks (89 f150) a few other things. most people go for the big prize you will get that. this year was a 5qt roaster. one year was a george forman grill. it always depends on what it is if i go. the traffic is real heavy for this thing. our county is one of largest is the state. so many people come, it's free and will be a Christmas gift for someone. i will keep mine it will be perfect size for me and DH, and if son has to move back home. poor kid his microwave just went this morning, and the landlord has been shutting off his water to find a leak. :noway: what no that can't be going on. son doesn't even pay water, it's included with rent, and it's staying off for hours.

well, today i heard a great saying ""live in the present tense, NOT in the past tense."" yea, so yesterdays eating is past and i now live in the present, nothing i can about the past, no extra exercise or cutting cals. whats done is done move on.

My tip for today....fill your plate with veggies and leave very little room for the not so good stuff.

well, off to read my book on the roaster.

    back later. cathy

Well, lucky for me the hotel has a guest computer in the lobby, so I can get a quick MFP fix this morning before the meet. I had an ok breakfast, 2 hard boiled eggs, some fruit cocktail (no fresh fruit on the bar :grumble: ), and what I thought was a bran muffin but what turned out to be an apple cinnamon one with big oats on the top. I am trying to be proactive today towards food, we packed a snack bag and a cooler before leaving last night. I've got a fiber one bar in there, a light yogurt, blueberries, bananas, apples, peanut butter, light caramel dip, triscuit crisps, weight watchers cheddar cheese, carrots, hummus, protein bars.. I don't want to be tempted to hit the concession stand for cookies and stuff! Also in the bag, but hopefully not in my belly later, doritos, crunch bar, granola bars, pretzels, pop tarts. We're set for a VERY long day! And for kids to come hang out. We always pack an air mattress so we can get comfy, and it's not long before there's a ton of kids on it, munching and playing games. Anyways, I hope you gals all have a good day, will check in later tonight, if I'm not exhausted. Why is it that sitting around and doing nothing wears you out so bad?

    Good morning..

Already did some weights and 21 min on elliptical this morning. About to go jog/walk for a few minutes!

Breakfast was fiber one cereal and most of a banana. I dug around in my sisters cupboards til I found the fiber one lol.

Not sure what lunch will be- I will probably go home today before or shortly after lunch. Well, I just hope not to GAIN any for our next check in.

I will check in later everyone!!

    Have a great weekend!

    Good morning everyone!!

Just got done with my workout C25K Week 1: Day 3. I had planned on doing day 3 yesterday but it didn't happen. I went a few extra minutes today because it was going so well, so that made me happy. A lot I want to get done today but we'll see how much actually gets done. I also want to put up Christmas decorations and clean before i leave for Thanksgiving Break next Friday (my university gets the whole week of Thanksgiving off) that way it will all be beautiful and clean when I get back and I can at least enjoy the decor for a couple weeks before Christmas break starts. haha.

Heading to a football watch party tonight as our team has an away game today. It is sponsored by the graduate professional council and there is supposed to be refreshments so I'm thinking I might eat a little healthy something before I go there at 5:30 so I don't get stuck eating unhealthy bar food for dinner. Although it will be tempting!!

    So, meals for today:

B: multi grain cheerios, skim milk
L: ground turkey breast tacos, with carb balance tortilla and kraft mexican four cheese
    S: Jello or pudding maybe
D: not exactly sure. maybe some of the taco meat from lunch with some fiesta vegetables I have in the freezer. :)
S: maybe one drink during the game. :drinker:

Have a fabulous Saturday ladies!! It is pretty chilly here so I am looking forward to getting cleaned up and snuggling up on my couch to do some schoolwork!!

    Hi Ladies,

The stress is getting to me and I am having a hard time dealing with it this weekend . I have to admit I went out to dinner last night and did not make wise choices. Actually, I didn't get to go where I wanted and the place we went did not have anything that looked healthy or salads that looked interesting. It is gloomy here today the rain finally changed to snow. DH & son are gone til next week, so I will be shoveling (good exercise, but stressful because of lack of time) Checking in here is always a nice break though.

    Cass, Stay safe.

Pedal, I notice how tone your arms look too. Wowy.

Katy, It's nice to see your words of encouragement to our group who seems to be struggling right now.

    Have a great day ladies:flowerforyou:

Wow... I've had SUCH a bad week nutritionally! Each day has started out really well then by the end of the day I've totally blown it and let the stress take over. I feel like I have found my good groove again today though which is a huge relief! My little guy is asking for bed so I'm going to CBL!

Boy everyone seems to be having such a rough time. I see it happening all around me. My MIL came over today wanting to tell DH and I something important. She has colon cancer and is going in for surgery to try to remove it on Friday. Thank God they caught is very early and are hoping this surgery will get what's in there and she won't go through kemo.

Cass, I am so sorry. My prayers are out there for you.

Pedal, I think it has been a pain in the neck for most of us this week. As long as we admit it and try to move on, I think we're doing great.

Deb, hang in there, as long as your on here, your not jumping off the wagon all together.

    Momma, I like that saying.

Amy Lou, keep up the good work.

Katy, good job keeping up with things while somewhere different.

Everyone else, keep up the good work. Tomorrow we are going to the beach while hubby does some work on a beach house with his dad.

Bad Bad Robin! All those good for me snacks in my bag, and I didn't touch a one! After Brandon's second race, we had a long stretch, and I made the mistake of going with him to the concession stand. We're still trying to figure out the right amount of food for a meet, because sometimes he eats too much and it slows him down. Other times he eats too little, and it slows him down. I'm trying to pound into his head that a gogurt in between races is fine, then an apple between the next races, and so on. Anyways, at the concession stand I saw they had brats, so I got one. It was yummy, and it's all I got at the time, so I was ok with it.

Brandon swam the 50 yd breast stroke for the first time, and got DQ'd because he came up after his entry and did one arm of freestyle before remembering wrong race. Then, also did the wrong touch at the flip turn. He didn't understand what that meant, so we asked a girl who had such a good time in the race before his, that she qualified for nationals. She took the time to explain to him the touch, and then laughed and said at her house, DQ means Dairy Queen after the meet. She also made him feel better, because she said that she's been DQ'd so many times for those same things.

But, on the way out of town after the meet, we did hit the Dairy Queen. I ended up getting a quarter pound flamethrower burger, cheese curds, and a small caramel shake. Not the best food choices for the whole day. I kind of cringed this morning when I stepped on the scale, figuring I'd be up a pound because of the salt and grease, but was pleasantly surprised to find I'd dropped 2 pounds. Now how the heck did that happen?:noway:

Anyways, I'm seeing that several of us have the blahs and the funks. We've got one more week to the challenge after this. You know how when you're running a race, and you kick it up at the end, finish in a sprint? Lets all try to gather our strength and finish strong! I know we can do it!

    Good Morning All,

I'm feeling better than yesterday, not completely out of this blah feeling though. That will come tomorrow after my tests are over. I had a good nights sleep so that helped. I think adjusting to this kind of weather has something to do with my feelings. I do think I have a touch of (SAD) seasonal affective disorder. I wonder if this could be affecting several of us, since the blahs seem to be going around. I looked into getting special lights a couple of years ago, but don't know if they really work and they are expensive.

I didn't exercise for the last two days and that is not helping me feel any better either. Along with the eating junk food (which started after the feeling of being overwhelmed again) no wonder I don't feel energetic. This is a time for me to be careful so I don't end up spiraling out of control and gaining back all I have worked so hard for. I plan to get on my tredmill this morning, even if only for a few minutes and hopefully that will lead to a good 20 minutes. This is really a nice place to "vent" about these things, because you all are so compassionate and understanding.

    Today:
1: Blueberry nurti grain waffles & lite syrup, coffee w/ creamer & 1 tsp. sugar
2: banana & natural peanut butter
3: subway chicken teryaki 6" sub
    4: ??
    5: lean cusine??
    6??

A lot of planning still needs to be done on the menu, but at least I am tracking it today.
Have a great day ladies  you all

    mornin' fellow blahs....
me this morning start out well, ***telling self "IT WILL CONTINUE"*** do so so last night, until i wanted a drink. now i don't drink, so DH made me a drink and i had two no bake cookies. the stupid cookies had to turn out good this time. done out of system. this morning i am working on getting the den ready to fit in the treadmill and get the spare room ready for son. no car this weekend. so i have to take him to and from work, until he finds a car. he has to be at work at 6am. i figure i will just stop at gym on way back home and than come home and crash. i don't normally get up until 7. this will change my life again and i have to rework things once again. but, it's life. we don't know what will happen the minute. just have to roll with the punchs. tried making bread this morning and now the machines not working right. so when DH gets up he can look at it. if it's gone will have to do it the old way.
well, break over need to get back to work and figure out where all this stuff is going.
    back later, cathy

    Hi Ladies!!

Deb, Chipper, sorry to hear that the blahs are still lingering. But I think its been said several times this week that we just have to push through and do what we can to stay on track.

Robin - RIGHT ON!! This is our finishing kick sprint. we're coming up on Week 6 so let's make it the best week ever! I know we are all capable of giving our all even if we do slip up occasionally. For instance, my one drink last night unfortunately turned into a little more than just one. oops! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: But I know today will be a good day because it is a fresh start and nothing can be done about yesterday now. I can only focus on what is in front of me, not what is behind me!!

Pretty simple plan for today. I am cleaning and working on homework and putting up Christmas decor later on while I watch Desperate Housewives. Not sure on a workout yet. Maybe shred although getting the tree put together and up will be a workout in itself. Not to mention the arm work I will get lifting the boxes and hanging ornaments. For a grad student in a one bedroom apartment I sure have a lot of christmas decor!!

Anyway, the food plan isn't very put together yet but here's how its been so far:

    B: multi grain cheerios
S: jello sugar free fat free chocolate pudding
    L: taco meat and veggies??
    S: ??
    D: ??

I really have no idea on the rest of the day. But keep your heads up ladies!!

p.s. Pedal - I remember you mentioning once that you had the NYC Ballet workout and I was just wondering if you had it on video or DVD? That was my favorite workout in high school (back when I actually WAS a dancer and had the dancer body  ) but I had it on video and since I don't have a VCR anymore, I am unable to do it so I would love to find it on DVD!!!

    Hi Amy,

Well said, about nothing can be done about yesterday & push through to stay on track. I didn't do too bad today. I eneded up doing 25 min. on the treadmill. Nothing to get to excited about, but better than not working out today. Started out tracking cals, but did not finish. Like I said before after tomorrow things will be easier & I'll really get back to it.

It's pretty quiet around here today. Hope everyone is out getting in a workout. It really does help the mood.

Hope tomorrow is a fresh new start for everyone feeling a little down.

    Have a good evening:bigsmile:

Ya, I've been out today Deb. I haven't really had a chance to sit and really chill today exept for the car rides. Today has been one busy Sunday. We started off by waking up before 6 and driving an hour out to Edisto Beach for hubby had some work to do with his dad. I took the girls across to the beach. We collected lots of nice shells and we built sand castles. Then we came back home and left again to go to lunch and Wal-Mart, come home. Then me and my oldest went to Mom's and picked her up to go to Goodwill to buy my daughter some pants. Then came back home, cut some coupons and went to the grocery store and came home and made dinner and helped my youngest with homework. Boy, that's alot.

Usually I don't do squat on Sunday's. Huh!! Not today. Didn't eat very good or track anything today, but I'm getting back on track tomorrow, and back to work, UGH.:grumble:

I have alot going on this week as well. Sometime this week my MIL is coming over to bring birthday presents for my daughter. Then Friday she goes into surgery to get the colon cancer removed. That day is also my daughter's birthday and she gets to choose dinner that night. Then Saturday our warehouse is having their annual sale and I'm stuck working it. Didn't want to because I wanted to spend the day with DD, she's turning 8. Then that night we will probably go to the hospital to visit MIL.

Hope everyone has a better week. :flowerforyou: I'm going to try. Later.

Okay its 6am here...Trying to decide if I go to the gym now, or this afternoon..or if I should enjoy another day off and start fresh with a new week tomorrow....I will probably do a day off today. Dont deserve it really lol but oh well.

Went shopping yesterday all day, didnt go over on cals...didnt get any exercise besides walking for a few hours while I shopped. I avoided mall food court food- I brought my own snacks and munched on those.

    The plan foodwise today:
    1. fiber one with almond milk, egg whites, banana or grapefruit
    2. baby carrots, chz stick
    3. Sandwich turkey/chz with salad maybe
4.rice pudding cinnamon sugar free, fiber water or v8, protein bar
    5. Not sure about dinner...

Well I will check in later ladies!!! Have a great day!!

GOOD morning! I can't believe it's Monday already! Sorry I didn't post this weekend...we have dial up and I'm seriously hardly on the internet when I'm home...which means I am SO bad about logging calories over the weekend...but honestly ladies, I feel that I have been doing this long enough that I can pretty much figure the calories I'm eating on the weekends...so it's okay. Ended up going over by a little yesterday I think though...we went to the in-laws for dinner: salad (which I loaded up on but no fat free dressing there), lasagna, and pie for dessert. They passed out the plates of lasagna (so I didn't get to pick my portion) but I only had a tiny slice of pie...so not too bad. Plus, I went to spinning that morning and burned an extra 650 calories. Saturday I went to spinning also...my back is so much better. I don't think I'm going to get back into the weights quite yet, but I'm going to try going to Step class this week and see how it feels.

Okay...so here is what I have planned so far meal-wise for today:

    Breakfast
Quaker - Weight Control Oatmeal Cinnamon, 1 packet 160 calories
    Bananas - Raw, 1 small (6" to 6-7/8" long) 90 calories
One A Day - Womens Multi Vitamin, 1 tablet 0 calories
Old Orchard - Healthy Balance Pomegranate Cranberry, 8 FL OZ 29 calories
    279 total breakfast calories

    AM snacks
    Coffee - ground, 2 cup 0 calories
Nestle Coffee Mate - Coffee Creamer (Sugar Free Vanilla Caramel), 2 tbsp 30 calories
Kashi Tlc - Soft Baked Ripe Strawberry Cereal Bar, 1 bar (35 mg) 110 calories
    140 total AM snack calories

    Lunch
Chili and ???? We have a chili cook off at work today, so no idea what they will be serving other than chili. I will make good choices.

    Afternoon snacks
Depends on what I eat for lunch, but I brought an apple and a Kashi TLC pumpkin flax granola bar.

    Dinner
    Chicken of some sort...any ideas?

Workout plan--5K run at the gym...I'm looking forward to it!

So, today should be fine. And tomorrow we start our LAST week!!!! Can you believe it? Have a FABULOUS morning everyone and I'll check back later!

    Good Morning!!

Kristin you will have to let me know if that Chicken and Dumplings recipe is good. My dad makes the best chicken and dumplings but he doesn't have a recipe at all, he just does it. I've tried and it never turns out exactly.

Already took care of the workout today, did C25K Week 2: Day 1.

Mealwise, still unsure but so far:
B: multi grain cheerios, skim milk
S: fiber one oats and caramel bar
L: ground turkey taco or taco meat with fiesta veggies or quesadilla - like I said, not sure.
D: chicken, brown rice, and mixed veggies.

Day full of errands and homework so staying busy. Might do shred later tonight if I feel like it.

By the way, my arms are soooo sore from putting up the Christmas tree and hanging the lights on it and all. haha

Hey gals, I'm also sorry I wasn't on this weekend - it's just been stressful. I was feeling so depressed yesterday which is really disconcerting for me since I'm usually so happy. I'm trying to haul myself up out of it though. Over the days I've done *better* at not letting my mood run my appetite but I'm still not back on 100% to eating the way I want to (and the way that will allow me to see results!). Regarding tomorrow, it's TOM so I may weigh in but possibly not. I don't really want to kick in the gut right as I'm finding my way to feeling a bit better...

Cathy, that is an early morning! Glad you can help your son out.

AmyLou, amazing getting things all decorated!

Kristin, I'm so happy for you that you're able to be back in the gym!

Katy, new weeks are great, aren't they!! You always do so well, a few days off will be okay

Again I'll have to come back later to finish posting. It's been really busy around here - Ava and Leith are happy that their Dad is home but there's also this wave of "relief" behaviour where they're just fussy and picking at each other. Must go help out!! BBL

Alright! Here's my plan for the day:

1: 1/2 sprouted grain bagel w/ 1.5 tbsp almond butter, 1/2 a chocolate protein shake made w/ skim milk
2: Protein shake (I need to get more protein ideas - I need a lot of it but can't seem to get it all in without using these...) & 1 apple
    3: Ezekiel sodium-free bread slice w/ 1.5 tbsp hummus & 1/4 cup alfalfa sprouts
4: steamed broccoli w/ 1/2 tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp balsamic vinegar & 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
5: 1 cup rice pasta spirals w/ 1/2 cup red sauce & 1 oz grilled chicken breast
6: lentil vegetable curry w/ mixed baby greens, raspberries, olive oil & balsamic
7: possibly more protein powder & 5 cups air popped popcorn

I was planning on doing a 9am work out class this morning but we all slept late and I want Kyle to be able to sleep in. So when he gets up I'm going to go to the gym and do my C25K week 3 day 1 run and maybe some other cardio like rowing machine, eliptical... we'll see. I want to burn over 500 cals and I usually do around 220 on my run so I'll fill in the gap then bike back home. I'm supposed to have dance tonight but yet AGAIN I'm not going to make it because, as mentioned, the little ones are just really emotionally exhausted and of course Kyle is even moreso and I don't want to leave them alone at the witching hour of bedtime because they'll all just feel more stress.

So my in-laws are coming home tomorrow!!! I want to find out what time they're supposed to get in because (although of course I'd love to visit them, I think it would be inappropriate) we're going to go up to their place and leave a welcome home sign and I'm going to make some snacks so they have something fresh to come home to. My FIL really loves fruit plates so I'll make up one of those and maybe some of my porridge muffins. I'm just so amazed and relieved and happy that they'll be back in Canada and that he's okay!!!

I hope everyone has a great last day of this week. Robin I like what you said - let's make this last week our sprint to the finish! We also haven't discussed our next challenge, name and so on. And I say this at the risk of coming off extremely snobby but I was thinking the name could be something a little more ambiguous like "Sixers Holidays" or something. For those of you who are veteran twenty-somethings, we recall how CRAZY it was for the first couple of weeks to try to check in and keep track... And we've picked up just the right people as part of this new group! I guess I'm just dreading the frenzy of another catchy name. I'm sorry if that was totally rude of me... I just wanted to put it out there because I may not be the only one who feels that way :ohwell: And if I am, I'm game for cruising through another wild couple of weeks while people start off with great intentions then forget to post...
Oy... am I totally digging myself a bigger hole here?!

Alright, off to the dog park!

Any who I'M AM OFF THE LEMONADE!!!!!!!! but the wierd thing is that I kind of miss it. i lost my min a little this weekend while I ate salad, party wings, french fries, etc. but I found it again yesterday. I'm sosososos happy for all of you ladies that have kept with your commitment to stay healthy. I haven't read all the comments but i'm sorry if something bad happened to you and i hope it gets better.

i don't think I'm going to hit my goal but I'm really trying.

I HAVE A QUESTION???????????? I tried to pre-log my calories based on the actual food nutrition labels but according to MFP they don't match. For Example..I put mustard in my tuna and on the bottle it says no cal no fat but according to MFT it has 6 calories. WHO DO I TRUST.

B- brown sugar oatmeal, generic and apple approx. 232 cal
L tuna w/ relish, mustard, egg, and 5 roasted vegg crackers approx 400 cal
D- salmon and spinach- approx 200 calories
snacks, Orange and apple approx 120 calories

    keep losing ladies:happy:

Are you entering the food with a specific brand, or just a generic find the mustard and click on it? For example French's yellow mustard vs. yellow mustard? If you're using the brand name, and it's still wrong, when you click on the nutrition values in the grey box to the right of the list, and the little pop up box comes up, you can click on edit to change things.

When you highlight the mustard in the list to the left, there's a box to the right that you can type in the amount of servings... Up near the top, in small print, there's a line that says "nutionion info" or something like that. If you click that, a popup will appear with the nutrients. On the right hand side of the popup, next to the info, there's 3 boxes and it asks if the info is correct, yes, no, or I don't know. If you click on no, it will ask you if you want to edit. If you click on that, you can change the values.

Hey gals! Just got back from lunch. I ate too much!:grumble: I tried to over estimate my calories below...but I am full. Why do I do this? Oh well. I can burn the calories at the gym tonight!

AmyLou...I will for sure tell you how the chicken and dumplings turns out.

Tjones...I always go by whats on the package...but yes, check the serving sizes on mfp for sure. Good luck!
