No real secret. :-) I worked out intensely 5-6 days a week doing a variety of exercise videos that did mostly circuit training (high intensity cardio combined with strength training). I tracked how many calories I burned with my Goreman Forerunner (but any heart monitor works!), weighed my foods to get an idea of how big a portion really is (I had no idea how small they normally are!) and stayed strictly to my calorie goal (I set my settings up so that I was losing 2 pounds per week). However, once a week I would allow myself a "free" day where it didn't matter if I went over my calorie goal. I didn't always use it, but it was nice to have! I am somewhat of a foodie. I love good food and I love chocolate. So, I didn't cut out anything I loved. I just ate smaller portions, ate them less often and worked out hard to make sure I didn't go over my calorie goal!

If you have any specific questions, feel free to message me!!
