I agree. My smallest weight in high school was about 145 and I was very fit. My first goal is to get to 160.

I can relate. my mother kept giving me that excuse after my first son who was 8 when my second son was born. I finally had to tell her that I can not blame it on baby weight any more. Time for change. : )0

(it's more about how I look and feel in my clothes than a # on the scale... I realize that muscle weighs more than fat)
I think it's great to have your goal be more about how you look and feel in your clothes than a number on the scale... That's what I'm going for too! However... I just wanted to point out that really, muscle and fat don't weigh any different, it's just that muscle is much more compact that fat. Often, people end up weighing more once they've lost the fat and put on muscle because it takes up less space in your body.0 -
i thought i would look better at 154lbs, but for some reason i cannot rid myself of my huge thighs and stomach pouch...i hope i can see a difference in 10 more pounds, this has been a lot of work for me. i have a pretty big frame, just like everyone else in my family, but i hope to one day look good in it. i cant remember the last time i looked good.
It is ALL about body fat. The numbers on the scale can be deceiving! Often if you aren't careful to maintain muscle during weight loss (thus making it MUCH slower) then you lose just as much muscle as fat. It is a good percentage of lean muscle vs. fat that gives you that toned lean look.
So ladies, remember, lifting weights is your friend and that slow and steady wins the race.
I agree but not sure why you used my post to say this. I do plenty enough weight training thanks0 -
wow!!!! awesome pictures ladies0

bump! you all have done awesome, very inspiring. i'm looking to lose 100 pounds-- any tips?0

You guys are all awesome! I dont have any before/after pics yet, my self esteem and body image were too terrible to be able to handle having any pics of myself when i was heavier. I Even had trouble admitting on MFP what my SW was for a while, but the when i saw results i started to become proud of my weight cause i knew where I had come from

Isn't it amazing what a difference big-boned / small-bones makes? I'm just under 5'5", and even at only 120lbs I have a belly. Some people at the same height and 150lbs have a lovely flat tum!
It is! My current weight is under what seems like most people's goal weight at this height, but I have a belly and weight to lose on my thighs too. I am working out and started weight lifting last week hoping this might help.0 -
yay a topic for me..

Goal Weight: 160
165 is the lowest I ever was as an adult and I wasn't "skinny" by any means, but I was normal and wore a size 10. I'd just love to be back there, but once I reach it, I might see if I can go a little lower. Long way to go before then though! I am struggling with trying to talk myself into exercising and I know it will only help, but dang, it's hard!0 -
