Welcome newbies! :flowerforyou: Not that I'm biased or anything but I must say that the SAHM threads are my favorites! Everybody on here is so great! (Not that I don't like the non SAHM on MFP!)

Harley took 2 naps in her crib this morning! (I walked on the treadmill for half an hour during her first one.) and one this afternoon in her swing. Plus she sat in her Bumbo while I did my excercise ball.

(Here's a pic incase you don't know what a Bumbo is. Also because I love getting pictures of Harley smiling.)

    IMG_0250.jpg

Anyway, Yea! Though she is getting better sleeping not being held, I still cuddle with her during at least one of her cat naps. (She's only going to be 3 months old once and she's just so cuddly!) I know what you mean Marla. I look at Harley and can't imagine anybody hurting a baby. When I think of that, I always give her a huge hug.

DH and I put up Christmas decorations today. I figured since we hadn't yet, we just weren't going to this year. But he's been working on the outside all day. While I hung lights in the windows facing the street and wrapped the front door. (It took freaking forever!) Harley l-o-v-e-s lights so I can't wait to see her face when we bundle her up and take her outside later to look at the house.

A friend of DH's is coming over to hang out in about an hour so I have to get Harley dressed and clean up around here a little. Talk to you later, fellow Mommies!

I cried when he had to be put under the special lights for his jaundice...

Oh geez, so did I. Thankfully, we got to take the little 'space pod' home so we could do it there, but they wanted him under there 24/7. It was so hard when I knew he just wanted to be held! I eventually just kicked DH out of the bed, put the pod on the bed with me, and slept with my arm curled in the wee spaceship thing.

All you have to do is add the [i m g] to the beginning of what you had & put [/i m g] to the end without any spaces in there. TADA!

We have a blue bumbo! I LOVE that thing! We use it to feed Tabitha in right now b/c she hates her high chair. She loves being the same level as the boys, but in a safer place, too. CUTE! Have fun tonight, Lori!

Speaking of, do you have any "feelings" yet? I had really strong feelings with all 3 & was right so I like to see if other people do, too. I'm wrong about guessing OTHER people, but was dead on with my kids. LOL A couple of my friends have a running joke that if you want to know what you're having, have Sara guess & it is probably the opposite!

Do you mean feeling about boy or girl? I really wanted a girl. Everybody around me guessed Harley would be a girl so that made me think she might be a boy. But Dave guessed she would be a girl and he guessed that we would get pregnant last December. And he was right about both! He also thinks we'll only have girls which would be cool with me because I love having a little girlie.

DH says the fact that Wesley was a boy was due entirely to his willpower.

He has forbade me from having girls, he says he just couldn't handle it. He was one of THOSE guys, so he says he knows too much, and he would never let her out of the house until she hit menopause. :ohwell:

It doesn't help that women have children very young in my family - my grandmother at 15, mom at 18 and myself at 19. So... if we DO have a girl, I'm thinking she's got to at least hit 20.

That's what I meant exactly, Lori. I've had quite the day here so I'm not articulating very well right now. 1 year old's b.day party/going away party for my husband's best friend. Zeke was overly friendly & Micah was giving a display of the definition of "2 years old"...and Tabitha clung to me link a tiny little chimp. Plus, it was just a hectic day here, Doug's cramming for exams & finishing a project. I cannot WAIT until this week is over. Next week at this time I'll be happily celebrating my husband's graduation & my very good friend's graduation at a local bar & this will all be a bad dream. Rant rant ranty ranty rant.

Anyways, allenhm...I thought I had a young family! My great-grandma was 16, my grandma was 18, my mom had me 5 days after she turned 21 & my first was born the day after my 23rd. birthday! I love having a young family, but I have to say that I hope Tabitha makes it a little bit longer...but not too long. The boys, however, need to wait until they're at LEAST 30...unless they prove me wrong & mature at an astounding rate.

I had to LOL @ his willpower. My husband tells me that he "programmed his boys" to produce 2 boys & then a girl. Yep, honey. It was ALL you. Men are weird.

Boys are a different animal all together. There is SUCH a difference in the boys & Tabitha even at just 8 months. They are just SOOOO energetic & curious & simply wild sometimes. I always get comments from others how Zeke is "all boy" and I think that is their nice way of saying "wild monkey child". Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my boys, but they are a lot more challenging than I ever thought they would be!

Well, when I was pregnant the first time and miscarried(8weeks) I was sure it was a boy. Then when I got pregnant with Alex, at four weeks I was already saying it was a boy. I was trying not to let on but sometimes the "he" word slipped out. When I have prayed for the baby I automatically say she. When I write in my journal to the baby I see a girl in my mind and I feel like I am writing to a girl. Also a pastor's wife, whom I'd never met before, came over and prayed for us and she also said, she and her. So I think it's a girl. Obviously there's a 50% chance I'm wrong. lol Time will tell. We don't plan to find out until birth-day. I like the surprise. It drives some people nuts! But it's fun!
Steve went to the prayer meeting tonight and he said they prayed for me a lot. I'm really thankful for them. I am going to miss the church Christmas party tomorrow. I was looking forward to going. I realized yesterday I may be showing before I get to see these people again, if I am on bed rest until I am 12 weeks.
I did take it easy today and I felt SOOO much better. I didn't hurt much and no bleeding. Not looking forward to honey going back to work on Monday. It's not going to be easy to do nothing. Meals will be mostly made, so that will help. I kind of wish this wasn't happening during the holidays because Christmas is my favorite time of year and I am not able to get out and take walks, looking at the lights, and probably not going to be able to spend it with my parents and brothers and sisters. I know all will be well, but my hormones might get in the way. lol
Sorry this is such a long post. Had a lot to get off my chest I suppose. Have a good night!

But next Christmas you'll have a new baby to share all that wonderful stuff with. *hugs* i know it it hard now, but try to keep the long term goal in mind...keeping that baby!

We are surprise people, too...except for the last time. I had to paint & I had to do it while I only had 2 kids & not 3! It seems silly now, but my pregnant self HAD to know if I could paint a room purple or not. LOL I should post pics of Tabitha's room. One of the things I'm most proud of in this house.

We didn't wait. We're impatient people. We said we'd wait to get engaged. (Then we got engaged after 6 months of dating.) We said we'd wait a year or 2 before trying for a baby. (We waited 5 months before trying, got pregnant 2 months later.) So we found out. Also we wanted to get the room ready. We painted light green but decorated girly. That way, when I am growing baby #2, we'll paint the bigger room purple for Harley and the nursery will already be ready.

Supper was fun with DH's friend. They were roomates for about a year right after DH (then DB) and I started dating. We've only seen him a couple times since we got our house August '06. I made supper. But I doubled the recipe so we'd have lots of leftovers to freeze. I didn't know how much longer to cook it for and I think I overdid it because the chicken was a little chewy. It tasted pretty good otherwise. I'm still learning this whole cooking thing.

Anyway, DH's friend is working on losing weight. In about 6 months, he's already lost almost 150 pounds! He's been walking outside about 3 miles several times a week (I said there is no way I could walk outside this time of year!) and cutting back on what he eats. He's doing so great! It was kinda cool to talk about food and excercise with a guy too since DH isn't watching so he doesn't quite understand.

I resized it. so it doesn't take up so much space.

MM-oh sweetie I just want to hug you and cry with you. I can feel your pain. I'm sure its hard to not be able to do all the things you want to do for your family and for Christmas but there is a little baby inside you that needs you to take it easy. Next you all 4 of you can celebrate your own miracle. I'm sorry it wont be everything you wanted it to be this year, and just let the emotions flow, I'm sure everyone will understand.....and if they don't I'll have to come kick some butt!!!!

3bb-the only "feelings" I had with my first was when I went to see Star Wars Episode I and the crazy baby kicked me thru the whole dang movie....I knew it had to be a boy! With Adi I didn't have the foggiest clue. I should have listen to my son...he knew. When we went in for the ultrasound I asked him if he wanted a brother or sister. He said "I want a sister so I can put bows in her hair." When the doc said it was a girl....I wanted a second opinion. When she said it was a girl...I asked for a third opinion. I still wasn't convinced. I guess I was in denial. I'm not a girly girl and I certainly wouldn't know what to do with a girl....but so far we are doing good....and I'm learning to like pink and purple...ON HER!!

    One more pic...our familly :blushing:

    Good morning Mommies!:flowerforyou:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. I'm in the final countdown for Christmas, have family arriving next week, and two enormous papers (more like books) to write for my master's program, so everything is a little hectic. Still doing great with the logging and the exercising though. Started the 100 pushups the day before yesterday, so I get to do them again today!

Still no weight lost. Trying very hard not to get depressed. :grumble:

Jawaria - Grilled cheese/tomato soup! Great for the cold weather and its surprisingly low in cals if you use whole wheat bread/low fat cheese and low sodium soup. I had it yesterday for lunch and it was only 350 cals. I also make backed chicken and yellow rice. Pick up some Ms. Dash Garlic & Herb, sprinkle it on the chicken and bake for an hour (covered with foil) at 375, then uncover and bake for 5 - 10 minutes. I use chicken thighs because I hate white meat, but I'm sure you could do it with breasts for a slightly healthier meal. Yellow rice is also suprisingly low in cals.

    Hope this helps!

And yes, it is nice to talk to grownups sometimes. :indifferent:

Home alone for most of the day...which is okay I guess. DH and Alex went to church and the Christmas party. sigh. I am really trying not to focus on what time of year it is. I get depressed that I can't be out enjoying it with everyone else. I understand why but that doesn't make it any easier. And this morning I think I realized that I am probably on strict bed rest, or at least should be. DH said maybe I should get up and do some light activity for about ten minutes and see how I do, then build up on it everyday. I had that idea a week ago and it's not like building up muscle. It just doesn't work that way. My light activity this morning was getting my breakfast which took about 3 minutes, and then brushing my teeth, putting in my contacts and showering and shaving. I was spotting after that. :grumble:
This morning DH teased that I'm just making it all up. I don't have to be on bed rest and that I'm not even pregnant. I made it all up. I am not going to lie and say I hate laying around and letting him wait on me, but I'd certainly rather be up and doing things and be healthy. I told him I'd get up and do things as normal and when I lose the baby I will just hate him for the rest of my life. That shut him up. I know he doesn't like it. No one likes it! My son doesn't like and neither do my friends and family. He wanted a girl. He's probably going to get one and needs to deal with whatever it takes to get her here safe and healthy! Sorry. I didn't mean to vent. Hormones. I'll be fine in five minutes.
Allen, I'm glad you started the push ups! I had a lot of fun doing them. I plan to get back to it (wall ones or girly ones) when I get off bed rest, or back to boy ones in a year after the baby is born. I was getting some good looking arms! 3BB are you still doing it?
I'm sure you all have more to do than read my really long posts. I'm off to see if there's anything on TV and to work on my cross stitch. Have a good day!
    MM
  • Thankyou allen! that chicken and wildrice sounds really good! i'll give the grilled cheese with tomato soup a try...i'm not fond of tomato soup...but thanks for those tips...i never knew yellow rice was healthy!
  • I feel ur pain Im on a 1200 cal limit too and cant seem to stay within my limit, at least not without feeling like Im starving lol

Supermom - you're breastfeeding, you need at LEAST 1500 cals otherwise your milk supply will start to suffer.

I'll bbl to finish checking in with everyone but wanted to put that out there.

it's been hard staying within calories this week-- festive time of year, and all that jazz. Still, I've been doing it by making sure I get the taebo/turbo in nearly daily. On some days, though, I know I'm still nibbling a bit over. I kinda decided I'm not gonna freak the rest of the year. Be responsible, count everything, but I'm not going to really go manic again until the first of the year where I need to push to get my last 17 off by June to meet my goal.

Later one and all-- hope everyone's having a nice day. Our Jets won, so we're all fine here in New Jersey!!
  • 3bb- Thanks, I feel a little better then because I can usually stay within 1500, but 1200 seemed impossible because I just get too hungry inbetween meals and a little 100 cal snack wasnt cutting it
