No problem! Your body needs somewhere between 300 & 500 extra calories every day to maintain a healthy milk supply so that's one BIG benefit of trying to lose weight while breastfeeding.

do you have a library close that you can get videos from? Do you have stairs in your house? You can walk if it's not too cold. Sorry I'm not much help. Some videos are $10 on amazon or ebay, but I know what you mean about money being tight. Hope someone else has some ideas for you.
Dh and Alex got back from the party and Alex was a perfect angel and had fun. We have a couple of people coming over this week to take him away for a few hours and some friends are taking him to his horse therapy I think. I sure miss taking him to that. But I am very thankful for our friends that are helping out. I think two families are bringing meals to us too.
That's about it for here. Talk to you all tomorrow!

    Exercise with the baby!

(Ideas below taken from this website: http://www.fun-baby-games-online.com/exercises-for-mom-and-baby.html )

    - Add several sets of squats, dips, lunges, step-ups, or step-downs holding your child as resistance

    - With your baby lying on the floor, get on your hands and knees and do partial range pushups lowering down to kiss your baby on the nose.

    - Do reverse corner pushups for the middle back while you have your child in a baby sling or carrier.

    - If your baby can hold his head up, lie on your back and hold your child in the air over your chest (as an airplane) and press your child up as you lift your torso off the floor to strengthen the abdominals.

    - With your baby on your lap or in a baby carrier, do triceps dips off the couch or a sturdy chair.

In addition to all that, sometimes babies as young as yours just like to watch you. If you have a baby swing or a bouncer, just set the wee one in that while you exercise.
  • yes i agree with 3 bb and allen! supermom enjoy those extra 300 calories:tongue: and do what allen said...just google and u'll find tons of excercises to do with baby! just put him in a front carrier and walk or go for a walk outside. lie on the floor on ur side and lift legs..
it's a lot easierr to workout now when u have 1 and he's still a baby baby...it'll only ge harder...so take advantage of this time! good luck!
i went over my 1200 again...i'm not sure where i'm going wrong...but i'm going to stay up tonight and figure out 300 calorie meals!
  • Thanks so much everyone for the great ideas!

MM- Don't get too down about the holiday season, just focus on growing baby! she'll be here soon enough and then you can enjoy everything with her next year! And thanks for the idea about the library I'll have to check

allen- I like those exercises and I'll have to check that website for sure, Thanks!

jawaria- Dont feel too bad about going over the 1200, just exercise some more to make up for it! Also if you stick to items with only one ingredient in them, ie not processed or preserved it helps in building 300 cal meals... theres a thread in the food and nutrition group called clean eating that explains more, heres the link http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/31917-clean-eating-club-dec-8-14

Well, my DH just got home and we're going to take baby and go grocery shopping, I'm kind of excited because I havent gone grocery shopping since baby was born and I've actually planned out the menu for the week and I'm going to cook most of the nights, ah how I love to cook, and I havent been able to because I've been busy with baby but hes on more of a schedule now and I'm able to let go of control more lol I guess thats one of my biggest problems is just letting someone take him for a bit because all I do is worry that they arent going to take care of him as well as I do but I've run myself into the ground pretty much and am realizing I do need to let people help me, gotta swallow a big girl pill:ohwell: lol ok well off to HEB
