So far, 1.2 mile swim done for the day. Still have a 10 mile run to do, weather permitting. I'll go in the rain, but they're calling for thunderstorms. I'll check in again later.
Happy pedaling (running, swimming, and everything in between), everyone!!! :drinker:

Short 9 mile ride to the park, two loops, and then back. It's hot. I don't like riding in the afternoon in summer! I'm a wimp.

60 minutes and 16 miles for 8/21, still on bike trainer.

563 calories from an hour of biking plus 585 calories from an hour of Zumba ... equals 1148 calories burned and one wiped Trish! Oof.

    Morning!

Sorry I missed the start of the challenge-but I did ride each day. Best Friend was in town visiting so I really didn't have time to jump on the computer to post.

Not been doing a lot of riding as I feel burnt out from it after all of the time I spent riding in July. Started a spin class today to try and get moving more.

    8/20-55 minutes
    8/21-40 minutes
    8/22-40 minutes of spin class

Forty minutes today, so far. Might squeeze a few more in later this evening. I think I found a new (less trafficky) way to ride to work, too, which is excellent news.

I'm in for 8/22 -- 60 minutes and another 16 miles. Time for some stretching.

Anyone have some good stretching tips to target primary biking muscles? I'm doing your typical hamstring and quad stretches, and pigeon pose (if anyone knows that one) to keep my hips loose. So far the only muscles that are getting sore are the ones on the side that run up to the back of my hip (whatever those are called -- maybe they're part of the glutes?). Anyway. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Just got back from another toodly little ride. 30 minutes of lovely pedaling in the sun. I had to swerve to avoid geese a few times, while pedaling past the duck pond.

I did not sign up for the TdF challenge because I usually alternate days cycling and running and I did not know that running counted, I assumed that it was cycling only. If I read this thread correctly running, swimming, etc. do count. Is it to late to get in? I am in a taper week now but should still get in the 30 min minimum daily. I rode 80 minutes 8/20, ran 30 min 8/21, and ran 41 min 8/22. I was taking off today but if a power walk counts I could do that after work to keep the streak going. Cycling is my first love but I try to keep variety going. No problem if I am too late or don't qualify.

    8/23- rode 48 minutes tonight.

After spin class yesterday, I realized that I have been taking it easy on the bike and not really pushing myself when I am out riding. So tonight on my ride around town I tried to pick up the pace and ended up cutting 7 minutes off my best time.

Stupid, stupid head cold!!! :grumble: I had every intention of riding today, but decided to take another rest day to recover. I'm not used to this level of training and I think my body is telling me something. Tomorrow is another day. Happy pedaling, everyone!!! :drinker:
