As for indoors, I'd be careful about using makeshift steps. I don't want you to hurt yourself on something unsteady. If you just want a single step (like with step aerobics), there is something you should have that would be pretty stable. If your bed has a box spring, just push the mattress back about a foot. Then you can step up onto the box spring and if you fall, the mattress is there to catch you. Of course, do be careful if your bedroom has a low ceiling. ;-) I tried this on mine and it works great!

last time I was using a milk crate until I measured it :noway: Then I swiped my kids potty step and was in stairsteppin' heaven.0 -

Yes...I spoke with Athenawho who is completing the results....she will be posting later this afternoon!!! Everyone did so great!on real life stairs most people place one foot on one step and push up to the next one, so count each step as 1.
on an aerobic step, potty step (lol), cinder block it's left up, right up, left down, right down,1
on a little step like wii it's gonna be a 4:1 ratio - so do the steps and then divide by 4.

It was a long way down…but you did it! You’ve reached the bottom floor of the bunker. The bunker is surprisingly bigger than it looks. The light of the flare is now burning out, causing more darkness in some sections.
You start looking around, attempting to get your bearings. You’re facing an extremely large wall of shelves. You try to do your part in finding supplies that you and your teammates may need going forward. You jump up to search the higher shelves…you get down low to search the lower shelves…you find many items that you want to take with you in your pack.
You hear TAMEKO2 in one of the far ends of the bunker holler out “I found some canned food and jugs of water over here”…several of you rush over to help her divide the supplies evenly. Down in the other end of the bunker, JENNYISBUSY calls out…”I’m gonna need some help over here”…
When you head over to make sure she’s ok, you see what’s she’s talking about. You are staring at what seems to be a make-shift radio. There are different pieces on the shelves and you know if you can just get them together, you may get it to work again! It won’t be easy, but you’ve travelled so far and know that you have to try everything possible to find safety. The radio will provide that hope...will there be any other survivors trying to communicate through the radio? A possibility of rescue? You know you’ve got to get the radio working. You and the others divvy up the radio parts to work on when you can get back above ground.
Having rejuvenated your supplies and spirits, you’re ready to make your way out of this bunker to that hope of safety. The only way out is UP. You begin to make the climb back to the surface….

I just want to say how proud I am of everyone for STEPping up in this Challenge and trying their hardest! (hehehe)
As a group (both teams) we have taken 86,370 steps or about 900 flights of stairs
That is an amazing achievement!
...but this is what were are all waiting for, the totals:

As you creep up those last few steep steps to get out of the bunker…the excitement builds as you think about the possibility of communication. You can’t wait to get to the surface to piece together the radio. You’ve got all your supplies in tow and again feel refreshed and hold a renewed hope of getting to safety.
BABYBLUZ33 and MENTALBEAT are among the first to reach the surface. As they push out of the bunker, those below only hear shrieks. Immediate fear resounds with those still below. “What was that?”…“I’m not going out there”…”We have to help them” SWEETPEAGRL charges out of the bunker with a vengeance.
Sure enough you’re surrounded. The zombies couldn’t gain access to the bunker, but they’ve been eagerly waiting for your return. They’ve engulfed the opening and you can’t get out without it getting ugly! You’ve come too far to let the undead take you down in an ambush. Looks like you’ve got another fight on your hands…but with teamwork…you will prevail!
The good news, you got some restored energy from the rations you got...But unfortunately, that glimmer of communication would have to wait!

Tip: Break these up to make them work for you. Here are a couple of suggestions to reach over 100%:
-Allow For A Couple Rest Days: 3 Ninja Tucks, 6 Supermans, 16 Punch Combos, 26 Kicks Per Day
-Work A Little Each Day: 2 Ninja Tucks, 4 Supermans, 11 Punch Combos, 15 Kicks Per Day
-You could also break them up so each day you do a particular exercise…DO WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU!
Alternate Description/Modification For Tuck Jumps:
Ninja Jump Tuck: Starting position is kneeling on the floor, with your butt resting on the bottoms of your feet. I find this exercise easier in bare feet. In an explosive motion, power up and land on your feet. If you need to, USE YOUR HANDS ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF YOU to help yourself up. Immediately upon landing, jump into a tuck up. Drive your knees up to your chest and smack them with your hands. Return to kneeling position. This is one rep.
As always, challenge yourself to go beyond what you think you can and modify where needed! You know your limits so be to challenge yourself but don't push too hard either! If you are injured, please let your captain know asap to make alternate arrangements. And...We’re always open to suggestions…so keep em coming!

Be careful with the tae bo kicks ladies! you can overextend your knee if you just whip your foot out, make sure you control the motion so that you don't SNAP your knee straight.

Whoa…Victory never tasted so sweet. Zombie after zombie…you and your teammates took the undead down one by one. You used your bare hands to knock em down. You kicked your way to victory. You feel amazing. After your much needed celebration, you are ready to get back to the original focus when you came out of the bunker….the Radio Communication.
You need a clear open space to start putting this thing back together. You make quick work of getting over those scattered zombies laying all over. Once you get over all of them, you lay out the radio parts and the group gets to business.
After a few hours, and various teammates giving it a shot….JLS1661 screams “We got it!” Everyone runs over and surrounds the last few that had been working on it. As you approach, you can hear the crackles on the radio and the familiar recording you first heard weeks ago:
"...you are not alone... zzztt-safety is near. Please reach us... safety... food, protection... zzzt... last chance... evacuation.... zzzzzzttttz... shhhhhhhhhhhhhh... decontamination shhhhzt... shhhhhh zzzzzt ... Repeat! Last ch -shhh... final evacuation is -sszzzt- October 23rd... shhhhhhhhzt...shhhhh... decontamination will leave no survi-shhhhh ztshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhzt."
Although you were hoping to hear a live voice on the other end of the radio, you know you can’t give up hope that the message is for real! SCANTRLL grabs the map that she retrieved from the bunker. The evacuation point is due West. You and your teammates pack up your supplies for another grueling haul…

Standing Abs: Take a look at the video. She does 3 variations. Try all of them…push yourself (safely) to do more than you think you can! Remember your mind will give in before your body does! (Learned That From MELISSARAETERRY)
Travel 30 Miles: This week you can ‘travel’ however you want…Run, Walk, Jog, Skip, Swim, Glide, Shuffle…but remember…you took a lot of things out of that bunker and now you need to move with them.
Supplies: In order for your miles to count, you must be carrying something. Use ankle weights during your swim…carry some dumbells as you walk…wear a weighted vest or backpack….put a couple soup cans in your pockets as you jog…WHATEVER IT TAKES to be sure you’re carrying something. And as always, use your own discretion as you add weight to your travels…
As always...do your best to exceed these challenge goals...and if you are injured, please reach out to your captain ASAP for modifications.
