I haven't been able to catch up with everyone's posts at this point. Life has been hectic at our house & I'm just able to read one here & there & that's how you all get lucky enough to see my incredibly sporatic posting habits lately. LOL

Plus, the past 14 days I've been bouncing around like crazy with my weight. I'm up 2.2# over the past 2 days & I'm getting insanely annoyed. I'll go down a little bit, then up a little more, then down a tad, then up a lb. I know you all know that I'm a scale addict, but this is getting ridiculous. Even looking at my "week to week" numbers, I'm up from 2 weeks ago. :grumble: Oh, well. I'll just keep trucking forward.

I hope you all have lovely Mondays!
  • Good Morning Ya'll

Up early feeding Ayden, hes 1 month old officially as of yesterday, yay! And the past two nights hes decided to stay up til midnight but once he falls asleep he sleeps til about 5 am, yay! but then he wants to feed for the next hour lol but still, Im so grateful for that 5 hr stretch of good solid sleep!

In other good news, I had a lovely grocery shopping trip last night and got some healthy snacks and stuff for lunch n dinner so thats exciting. and hubby is home today so he can watch Ayden so I can go on a power walk, n then we'll probably all go on a walk

Hope everyone elses Monday is wonderful!!!

That's so good that he's giving you a 5 hour stretch already. My boys didn't do that for the LONGEST time, but my daughter did around the 1 month mark as well. Love the new hair, btw!

    Morning,
Just have a minute. Alex says he needs to go potty and I need to get us some breakfast.
DH is back at work which stinks. I don't want to do this today. lol But I will do as little as possible. I am going to cut back on my eating and eat better today. I've been eating whenever I want and I've gained four pounds in two weeks, or three weeks? It's all running together now. lol
I just wanted to post and say hi. I'll be back later to bug you all some more. Have a good Monday!

Hi girls! I hope everyone has a good week this week. We had my husband's office holiday party this past weekend and it was SO MUCH FUN! I wore a pair of pants that I bought before I found out I was pregnant and never got to wear them, so I sported them Sat night! They're a size 4 and I was feeling HOT!!! We had a great time. It was the first time I've left baby Mack and my best friend from West VA flew in for the weekend to watch him. We had a fantastic weekend... even went to the spa while my husband watched the baby on Saturday morning. I miss her already!!!
  • I'm praying that the five hour stretch is here to stay... hes only done it the past two nights and then he still sleeps on and off throughout the morning so I can get some stuff done, so thats nice too. And thanks, my hubby sent me to the salon last friday since he had a day off and told me to get the mommy haircut I want and relax and he took care of baby that afternoon, so it was really sweet and I LOVE it lol its edgy but easy to style and I dunno, I just think it says modern momma lol I'm a dork :blushing:

MM-How far along are you? Hope your day goes well and I wouldnt worry about eating less often but focus on eating better ya know? Depending on how far along you are four pounds in 2-3 weeks is ok but like I said it just depends where you're at in the pregnancy, just dont cut back on eating too much, baby needs all the nutrients she can get

    Good morning!
Im happy to say that Im back at home now, actually got in late Saturday night but spent most of yesterday laying in bed watching a BL marathon:laugh: It was an interesting 8 days away to say the least! I basically lived on soup and water, got hungry ALOT but refused to eat the things in her pantry other than chicken noodle soup lol. I was actually getting really worried that if I didnt get home soon, my body was most definately going into starvation mode:frown: I actually had to quit doing my cardio walks on those hills by Thursday...figured since I was like over 1,000 calories UNDER ever single day I was there that I wasnt helping myself and by burning off more:ohwell: But now Im home and LOVING my good, healthy foods again! Its amazing how much we change ourselves and our tastebuds:laugh: Three months ago I would have had no problem eating those raviolis in the cupboard and frozen pizzas in the freezer! But, I survived and ended up losing almost 12 lbs for that week:noway: but I STARVED lol.
Im glad everyone is doing well, hang in there MM:heart: I know bedrest cant be easy for you!
Take care everyone and have a great, healthy day!:drinker:

Morning ladies. No weight loss for last weight...but no gain either. I don't know how in the world I'm going to loss 4 lbs by Christmas. That's been my goal is day 1 is to be at pre preg weight by Christmas and I'm SO SO SO very close. I'm trying a new "trick" this week to try and drop some pounds. I'm going to consume at least 30% of my calories for breakfast. I usually eat a smaller breakfast (200-400 calories) and then my other meals are bigger. I'm going to try to reverse this and make breakfast a bigger meal and ease back on the other 2. I read something over the weekend that said a good way to break a plateau is too change your routine, exercise and food. Well I changed up my exercise last week and it didn't seem to make any difference so I will try food this week. I'm also going to dabble in the hundred push up challenge. I'm going to try week one and see how painful it is. I still plan on starting this full force (no matter how painful) in the new year.

Not much going on today. I'm debating on going grocery shopping or wrapping presents. The trunk of my car is currently my hiding spot and I cant go grocery shopping without getting those out of there first. I suppose I can wrap today and go shopping tomorrow.

We got our first REAL snow yesterday. About 2 inches maybe more. It's suppose to get WAY cold this week...highs in the low 20s....I'm sorry that is not a high :noway: I guess no more walking to pick my son up from school  I love those walks.

Supermom-Don't you just love going to the salon. It revives me. I feel like a new person, and it helps that my stylist tells me I'm sexy hahaha I love him. That's great that your hubby took the baby so that you could have that time for yourself. 5 hrs is a good stretch for a 1 month old. "They" say that is technically sleeping through the night. My daughter has been sleeping through the night since we brought her home which is nice cuz my son didn't start doing that until he was almost 5 months.

MM-good luck today on your own. Do what you HAVE to and nothing more.

3BB-thanks for popping in every once in a while during your hectic days. I shouldn't be on here as often as I am but I love my MFP mommies. I bought some Kashi golean crunch this weekend...ummm it's not terrible but it's not fantastic either. I'm going to try it with yogurt...as soon as I go shopping.

Daughter decided to take an early nap today and I'm not ready to workout yet....Well it should be an interesting morning.

    Have a great day everyone!

Lyn - I despise Kashi in milk. It has to be in yogurt or just plain. Milk makes it all nasty. Thats just my opinion, though.

UGH! I need to bake. Kick me if you see me again for the next few hours. KICK ME HARD!

Hi ladies! I don't have a lot of time, but I wanted to stop in and say hello! I broke my plateau this week! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I guess eating like a pig and not going to the gym makes me...lose weight??? I don't know, I'll take it.

Went back to the gym today. Couldn't go last week because of all the icky sickies here at our house. It felt AWESOME to get moving again.

Hmmm...What else? We got our Christmas tree up, made cinnamon ornaments, and cleaned the house this weekend. My MIL also got Darrell a Lego table. I had told her that sometimes we go to the library to get out of the house and Darrell likes to play with the Lego table, so she bought him one to have at home. I know it was a nice gesture, but come on, the boy doesn't need a Lego table in the house. Now I have Legos all over the dang house, because they never stay with the table. *sigh* Oh well, she was just trying to be nice.

Happy 1 month birthday supermom's ADORABLE baby!!! I've got the fever, ladies. Help.

    Hello All you Ladies-
Just checkin in real quick..I'm busy cleanin house and going through my big clothes..I have lost so much weight in a year that I am now down to only 5 pair of jeans and very few shirts that fit right...:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: I've been yo-yoing between 193-195 for the last 2 weeks I dont know what is up with me but I wish the scales would move down..I couldnt beleive how much my body has changed even my shoes are getting to big does that make sense.. So now I'm gonna have to give up my favorite pair of boots cuz they are too big n my feet slide in them..I was in an 8 womens now I'm back down to a 7 woo hoo..Losing weight is great but kinda expensive too at the same time cuz I have to get new stuff, which is ok and well worth it...I hope everyone is having much sucess and remember anyone who is struggling and wanting it melt off right away remember we all didnt put this weight on over night..Its takes awhile to get it off..Remember 1 pound at a time...
    Have a great day ladies....

Alrightly ladies, busy day. I have two interviews today. :noway: DH and I are both jobless at the moment so I may have to stop being a SAHM, its whichever of us gets a job first. I am really depressed and sad about having to leave DS, but its better than not being able to pay bills. :ohwell: I hope they don't notice my lack of enthusiasm.

Still no weight lost. Beginning to think my body is just laughing at me. :explode: Eventually... eventually...

Supermom - LOVE the new haircut, very mommy chic  I'm glad you're getting good rest!

Noni - CONGRATS! 12lbs is awesome! Its a shame you had to starve though. :ohwell: Yay for healthy food.

Devensmom - I should probably be wrapping presents or shopping today too. Rawr, dont want to do either! Also with you on the no weight lost train. WTH? Doing everything right. :grumble:

Loki - Yay! I don't look forward to long plataus but you prove they can be overcome. Bummer about the lego table, MILs mean so well.

Lenece - Congrats! That is awesome! I can't wait til thats me. :blushing:

I am only 7 weeks. That's why I am freaking out about 4 pounds in two weeks. Today isn't going so well either, thanks to the tator tots I had at lunch! Now there's a Snickers bar in the fridge calling my name. UGH! Why do people have to bring me junk? Don't they understand I will get fat? LOL I may eat half the snickers. Or none at all. We'll see if I can stay away. My son may drive me to eat it.
Can't wait to get him down for a nap!

  • ok so for Aydens last feeding I didnt get on MFP, I worked on Christmas cards instead and making a website for Ayden and WOW I feel so far behind lol

Noni- WOW 12lbs thats crazy but Im sure the starving wasnt fun :frown: but good job for not giving in

drevansmom- I think its a good idea to eat a bigger breakfast, my mom lost a lot of weight when she was in her 20s because she worked during the night and slept during the day so she'd wake up at dinner time and eat the big dinner that her family was having then eat something light at lunch and then get home and eat breakfast for her "dinner" before she went to bed. So you could do the same thing but on a regular routine. Thats what I'm trying to do is have a bigger breakfast and lighter meals the rest of the day.

I have to admit I like Kashi in milk... but I also like it in yogurt too but it had to be vanilla yogurt I DESPISE plain yogurt, blech

Loki-Congrats on breaking the plateau!! Im so jealous I've been stuck for two weeks but I also havent been able to workout like I want to because I still have to get checked out by my dr. And Thanks for the bday wishes

lenece- I totally feel ya when it comes to nothing fitting, my hips have definitely widened and my boobs are busting out of all of my shirts, ugh and I dont really want to buy anything new until I lose more weight... but hey congrats on losing so much that you have that problem consider it a good thing!

allen- I hope one of you finds a job soon!!! Good luck on your interviews!!! And Thanks I love my haircut n its pretty easy but Im still figuring out how to poof the back lol
  • MM- Oh ok now I see why, well stick to a healthy diet n think happy thoughts for baby
  • Hello Everyone! So much progress everywhere! congrats guys!!! I am super happy yet freaking out bcoz i am not losing weight but i am wearing jeans that i have not worn in 6 mths!!!YES!!! so i'm thinking i'm losing inches!

Happy note for me! A friend is coming to get Alex in the morning and take him for awhile...maybe all day! Then he's going to another friend's house on Wednesday until nap time. And both of those friends may come get him again the rest of the week! Yippeee!! He's not a bad kid at all but it's hard on him to see me laying around and I can't do anything with him. I am really looking forward to the rest! I was praying today for God to send help because I just don't feel that I can physically take care of him during the day. He answered my prayers! He is awesome!

So last night, DH said "I'm going to work out tomorrow morning." I said, "Okay, me too." The alarm went off at 6am. I got up and fed Harley. (She was starting to talk in her crib so I figured I'd just do it then.) DH turned on the tv in the bedroom. After I fed her, he said, "Come lay with me for a minute." So I curled up against him while he watched tv.

The next thing I know he's leaning over me, dressed for work, to give me a goodbye kiss. Then I fell back asleep and woke up when Harley woke up around 10am.

I asked him about it tonight and he said he laid there until about 7am. Then he got up and asked me if I wanted to join him working out. He said I said no so he worked out by himself. When he came back in the room and gave me a kiss, it was after 8am. I told him I don't even remember that! Seriously I laid down and then he was leaving for work.

Oh, well. I walked for half an hour while Harley laid in her pack-n-play in late morning. I tried to walk some more later when she was taking another nap but she didn't want to take a nap and made sure to let me know it so I only got in 8 minutes on the treadmill that time.

Since we're cooking more at home, I know what we're going to have and I'm able to enter all my calories in the morning. I was going to be over about 150 calories (which is okay to me). But the meat in the meal didn't reheat right so I just ate the noodles and sauce and I saved myself like 400 calories tonight!

So now I have over 300 calories left! I can't decide what to eat. (I still want to leave a little bit. I've been over my calories - sometimes a little, sometimes a lot - for almost the last 2 weeks.) I got some Hershey's kisses tonight. I L-O-V-E peanut butter cups and I knew I'd overeat if I got them so I got kisses instead for when I need to satisfy my chocolate urge. Nine kisses are 200 calories so I can eat that and still not go over today! I am so excited!

Good for you Lori. DH brought home fun sized Butterfingers the other day. I think I've eaten them all except maybe 2. I can't stay out of them. Oh well.

I'm feeling unmotivated and really tired lately. I don't know if I'm coming down with something or the stress of shopping last week has caught up with me. I didn't want to get out of bed this morning. I had to push myself thru my workout today. Even with the butterfingers I'm under my calories. Ugh! I did take my measurements today for the first time. I'm close enough to my pre preg weight I figured it would be a fairly reliable reading of what I actually am. I found a card with my measurements from like 3 years ago when I weighed roughly the same amount. Some things are better (legs, hips, waist) and some are the same (arms). It was good to see the numbers be smaller. I'm changing the shape of my body and even though I'm fighting to lose the fat, when it finally comes off I know I'm going to look great underneath.

well, somebody must have either kicked Sara, or she was strong and stayed away. Bravo, my good woman.

All is well enough here-- tree is up, house is decorated and we've begun the holiday visiting. We went to some friends tonight, and they're coming over on Friday. Can you see how many friends we have? Sheesh.

Oh well-- as if we have time for them, anyway-- :noway:

I'm reaaalllllllllly hoping that this week will see an end to my hormonal nightmare. I feel crappy, with a capital C-R-A-P-P-Y. It usually leaves with a bang, so fingers crossed that I'm down my standard 5-8 pounds this time next week from my hormonal bloatation. So lovely being a woman, ain't it?

Hmmmmmm-- should go shower and turn in-- nytol!!!!!

Last night I didn't go over my calories for the first time in almost 2 weeks. This morning I'm down almost a pound. I know that it's too soon after yesterday to actually be a weight loss from one day of not overeating my calories. But, whatever, it's enough to keep me from feeling blah.

Last night I had DH take a front and side picture of me in my bikini. I don't have any before pictures like that but I think of this as a "during" so when I lose more weight I can look back and compare and feel better about myself, even if I'm not completely to my goal at that point.

I don't know if it was such a good idea though. I put them on my computer (not brave enough to put them on here.) I'd be on MFP or checking my email and then I'd pull up the pics and just stare at them unhappily. Why is it that when we look at a picture of ourselves, our eyes immidiately go to the parts we hate not the parts that look good? Oh, well. I guess the pictures can be motivating themselves.

I have kind of a TMI question. I got the line under my belly button when I was pregnant (linea nigra or whatever it's called). Harley is 3 months old and it's still there. Did yours go away? Naturally or is there something you have to do? When I looked at the pictures last night it looked like my seam was showing. :noway:

Sorry for the long post! Later, Mommies!
  • hello everyone. I'm new to fitnesspal, but i too am a stay at home mom. I will be starting college on Jan. 12th and will be going to school 2 days a week. I've gained 80 lbs. over the last 6-7 years and i'm trying to lose 40 by june 19th. Hubby and I have recently joined a gym and I lost 5 lbs. but it must've been water weight because i'm having a tough time losing now. I'm looking for some simple tasty healthy recipes for the pickiest family lol. I'm trying to change my lifestyle and I can finally say that I went to the grocery store and stuck to my list and didn't buy any junk for the first time yesterday. I'm so proud of that lol, but i obviously need some help. Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

    Morning ladies!!!

Welcome Kandace. Congrats on your successful shopping trip. It is SO hard especially this time of year to walk out of the store without a cart full of goodies.

Roni-congrats on all your weightloss at your sisters. Now if it will just stay off...It's so hard to be away from home and your normal routine. You must have amazing willpower.

Lori-It's okay if you don't want to post your pics here but good job having the guts to take them. I haven't gotten to that point yet. I look in the mirror every morning and think I should take some motivational pics, but then I think....I don't want to have to look at that all the time THATS WHY WE HAVE CLOTHES

Marla-nice of you to stop in. Congrats on getting your tree up and house decorated. I think this is the first time I've gotten my shopping done before my house is ready for Christmas hahaha. Maybe we will go get a tree tonight...then again it might have to wait until next week. Who knows hubby has been so busy lately. His company is forcing him to take a bunch of days off though so it will be nice to have him home for a few days.

Didn't go grocery shopping yesterday and I only got 3 presents wrapped :grumble: Going to try to get more things accomplished today. Right now I have to get my workout in. Laters!

    Welcome Kandace!

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is staying warm. It's another cold one here.
Well, today didn't start off to great for my body, but Alex went with my friend and I can rest now. The midwife wants to check my hcG levels and my progesterone levels again next week to make sure everything is going okay. Now I need to come up with $100.
I'm going to be laying around watching TV again and working on my cross stitch. I didn't know I'd get addicted to Law and Order. Ha! I need to shower but I'm scared to with the way things are going this morning. But I can hardly stand myself. :noway:
Have a wonderful day all! I will check back in later and talk more about myself.
