Hello teammates,
I am starting off by doing the PYMGY Series. I did Day 1 - 50 Squat Kicks and 50 JJ's. I so need a good support bra. I think that my breast got more of a workout than my heart, legs and arms:bigsmile: . It is so funny because my butt feel like jell-o:happy: . I guess that is a sign that it's working??? I also stayed under my calories and I drank well over 64 oz of water. Now I am going to the bathroom every -2 seconds (that is negative 2). TMI - I know, sorry.
Daughter update: Today was a rough day for her also. She blacked out in my arms (thankfully). The monitors was beeping (super high heart rate). We had to press the CODE button. I was so scared. I did not know what to do. Thankfully her nurse assistant was in the room or she would have fell. She just calapse in my arms. Once they got her heart rate under control and some feel good meds, she did a lot better throughout the day. She is still very very weak. Whenever she goes to the bathroom, I have to jump up and follow her in, so I pray that all of my hard work (kick butt squats and stuff) don't go to waste because I have been only getting about 4 1/2 - 5 hours (sometimes less) of sleep for the past few nights:yawn:. I know that sleep is crucial to weightloss.
Ok, enough about me. I just wanted to say WTG to everyone for successfully getting through day 1. I am so impressed by the ones that are doing the Bushmen Series. I am going to do the PYGYM series for 2 weeks and then advance on to the Bushmen Series (this is in my head, I think - lol, but I am going to give it a try).
BTW: Lori, I think that putting the information in the spreadsheet ourselves is a great idea. This will also free up you and Gary to care for yourselves. Thank you both for making this possible:flowerforyou:
Hugs,
Nica
Nica, thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart for posting in here tonight. You seriously have sooo much to deal with right now and it really shows your exceptional character to get on here and post! :flowerforyou:
I am sooo deeply sorry about your daughter. It is heartbreaking to read. :brokenheart: No mother should ever have to watch her child suffer. I pray that tomorrow goes better than today did.
You did exceptional today!!! VERY proud of you!!!!!:bigsmile:0 -
Hello Teammates!! Congrats to everyone for making it thru day 1. Squat Kicks - Kind of liked those. Jumping Jacks - they were horrible in middle school and still are! But everything is done. Under calories, over water, challenge exercises completed and mini-workout out done. BTW- Bear Crawls are pretty tough. Barely made 1 minute, but will try again tomorow! Good Night!0
-
I just realized that I was supposed to do 30 squat kicks, not 15. Nica - thanks for doing my share! :P I should read what I'm supposed to do the night before, because I'm pretty useless mentally when I first get up.
I was well under my calories yesterday and drank 11 cups of water.
Now, for Day 2!0 -
*SHOUTING AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS* HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EVERYONE!!!!!!
My name is Reesa and I'm excited about the September Challenge! I'm excited to being able to make some new friends, all while shedding this weight!!!! I'm a little MIA right now, because I am still without electricity because of Irene. But, please know that I am rooting each of you on and I will be doing my part over here even if you don't hear from me. I try to stay in contact with Lori to keep her updated. While on the subject of Lori, I'm sure you all know by now how fabulous she is. If you don't, open your eyes! But, surely even a blind person could feel the spirit that radiates from her! She is a Godsend! I wish I had the time right now to tell you all how much she means to me. Such an inspiration to so many and I'm truly honored to be able to call her my friend, my sister.
Uh oh.. I thought I had more time... I have to run now, but hugs and love to you all!0 -

Janet, I call them hell jacks cause that is what they are. They send my heart racing and I just dread them with a passion. Oh I get them done but I sincerely loathe them.
WELL done yesterday and thank you for posting and letting us all know how your first day went!!!!! :flowerforyou:  :bigsmile:0 -

Two sets of 15 Swimmer's Presses - Check
An extra mile on the elliptical - Check
I typically do about 3.2 miles on the elliptical every day. It was tough adding that additional mile! But it felt good. I'm going to have to buy some dumbbells because the cans of kidney beans just don't really do the trick, and my bowflex doesn't allow me to move in the ways these exercises demand.0 -
Lori - was it ever determined when we'll be entering our end of week weight? Sundays or Wednesdays?0
-
Oh! And I did my 3 minute bear walk this morning.
How do we log the swim presses and bear walk?0 -
Lori - was it ever determined when we'll be entering our end of week weight? Sundays or Wednesdays?
Sunday evening or Monday morning depending on what time you normally weigh in.0 -
Oh! And I did my 3 minute bear walk this morning.
How do we log the swim presses and bear walk?
Brandi, after my fantasy football draft is over late tonight let me make us a copy of the spreadsheet and label it extras and we'll use it for that type of stuff!!!
THX!!!!0 -
I am on quickly to let you all know that I completed day 2. Gotta go. Love y'all.0
-
Hello beautiful people! I hope everyone had a great Friday
Day 2 complete! Under calories, 12 glasses of water, tabata and bushman series all complete :bigsmile:0 -
Thx for checking in Nica and Marie!!!!! My fantasy draft starts in about an hour so I will be back on late tonight!!!
KEEP YOUR SPIRITS UP AND I WANT EVERYONE TO REMEMBER THIS...

Greetings Fellow Tribe Warriors!! Day 2 completed. Over water, under calories, exercise in (1 mile of walking with extra mile and swimmers presses for challenge!) Feeling pretty good and CAN NOT wait to see a difference on the scale!!! Hope everyone is well!0
-
I took today as my off day. I normally take Saturday off but just had too much to do today. You will notice I always work out on off days. Just not as much. Just enough to give me extra calories should I want them.
Have a wonderful evening TRIBE!!!!!0 -
Day 2 complete! Under calories and over water. Extra mile, bear walk, and swimmer presses. Feeling good! Goodnight fellow tribe members!0
-
Gooooooooood evening my fellow tribe members!
It's nearing my bedtime and this is the first chance I've had to sit down and let you all know how my day has gone! This morning when I jumped on the scales it showed a flat 68kgs...I jumped on them 2 more times and both times the same! Today marks the day that I can say I have lost 20 kilos since I started this whole lifestyle change. From January last year til now I have lost 20kgs / 44lbs! I never would've thought it possible that I would be saying that. I just didn't think it would be necessary for me to lose that amount and what makes this even better is that I have done it the PROPER HEALTHY WAY! So here's how I celebrated:
I went for a 4 mile run which was an awesome start to the workout day because it was a beautiful day out there. This was followed by outdoor bootcamp.
Today's workout is a bit hard to describe but it involved a Manila Battling rope. It was a team workout which required us to be on the move constantly all the while holding the rope up on our shoulders.
Warm up involved sprints/strides ranging between high knees, butt kicks and side shuffles.
After, we picked up the rope (luckily there were 13 of us) and jogged to a point that was 3 steep inclines away.
We stopped and we had to do rows using the rope as a team. 3 sets of 15 followed by push ups at 3 sets of 10
Picked up the rope again and run, this was a 2-3 minute run to our main destination. Once there we had to place the rope along the ground and work as one to do 10 squat thrust to press (press = lift the rope overhead) once the 10 reps were done we had to run 10 metres. We had to do this for 5 rounds.
After we had to pick up the rope again and run, stop and do 2 sets of 10 tricep dips (using the rope and as a team) and 2 sets of 10 full extension bicep curls. Thereafter we had 2 minutes to run back to our original starting point.
Once the workout was done I started to work on the exercise challenges for the day.
50 Mountain climbers - CHECK
50 Jump jacks - CHECK
50 Squat kicks - CHECK
50 Wood chops (6kgs) - CHECK
50 Crunches - CHECK
TABATA - 4 MINUTE WORKOUT
Attempted the bear walk for 3 mins and only managed 1. Can I try again tomorrow or will it be too late for the extra point?
I only managed to do 10 globe jumps this morning because my knees couldn't take any more. So I saved the rest for tonight. They were a mish to complete but they are now done!
And that was my Saturday morning!
You will also see in my menu I had a massive eating day! I'd given up alcohol but tonight after a struggle with my almond butter process I needed to have a drink and had a bottle of KGB Vodka and Cranberry compliments of my flattie. I realised after the first mouthful that I could've just had soda water with a slice of lemon and that would've satisfied me! Nonetheless I still finished it and am back in charge of my diet and life!
Nica - you are AMAZING! People like you help me be a BETTER person and appreciate the little things we are gifted with in this life of ours! You, your daughter and your family have become part of my motivation when working out. It's like Gary said we are stronger and capable of more than we give ourselves credit for. So, when I feel like I can't do anymore I think of what your daughter is going through, a Bodyrocker who is battling cancer as well as my cousin who is also too young to be battling cancer. Those who are not as fortunate as I to have the "health" to do what I can and that pushes me through to the end of my workouts. Keep up the AWESOME work you are doing and know you are not on your own in this journey.
To everyone else who I am blessed to have been teamed up with here on VICTORIOUS SECRET remember WE CAN DO THIS & WE WILL DO THIS! Even if you are having an OFF DAY whether it be with food, workouts, study, family or work you have us here to vent to! We are not here to judge HELL NOOOO we are here to help carry you over that finish line because WE ARE A TEAM and that's what we do. :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
Noooooooooooow it's waaaaaaaaaaay past my bed time and I'm going to head to bed. HAVE A FABULOUS DAY TODAY & ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR WEEKEND!
P.S: SORRY BOUT THE NOVEL! :blushing:0 -
Good Morning All...
I have but only 4 things to say at this moment.
Aninamika - You Rock! What a great post.
Nica - You ARE an inspiration. I can not even begin to imagine how you do it.
My other fellow warriors - We will do this and I can not think of a better leader to lead us to VICTORY!
I hope EVERYONE has a WONDERFUL Saturday....Now I have to go find my legs...they have been missing since the 2 mile walk yesterday.0 -
Anina a big congrats on the 20kgs!!!! You are my inspiration!!!! i am honored to have a friend as special as you!
Well yesterday was my rest day but I still ate below my cals and drank all my water.
Today (day 3) I completed
50 crunches
50 climbers
50 squat kicks
50 JJ
25 woodchopers
drank all my water
under my cals
And I'm about to try the bear walk, I really think my dog will think I'm nuts:laugh: will get back to you and tell you how it goes.
Its my husbands birthday 2morrow so planning to make him breakfast in bed but with a healthy twist as he too is trying to loose weight. So it will be banana pancakes (made with egg whites and oatmeal) served with berry yogurt and freshly squeezed orange juice. No birthday cake but will be going out for a yummy dinner at a salad buffet place so can't wait.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!!!0 -
Good morning, everyone! The sun is up, the temperature is low (only 59 degrees F here in the Front Range of the Rockies), and I just returned from the gym.
I must say, I have underestimated crunches for years. I haven't done them since high school and doing 50 this morning was a KILLER! My cats looked very concerned and my bf yelled from the other room to make sure that I was okay, I was groaning so much. The mountain climbers were surprisingly fine for me.
50 crunches - Check!
20 mountain climbers - Check!
3.2 miles on Elliptical - Check!
A great beginning to a full day, which includes a belated trip to the Meat-R-Us type restaurant in Denver, The Buckhorn Exchange. See the supper menu here: http://www.buckhorn.com/suppermenu.php. At least there's no cake to deal with today, though!
We're doing great so far! Keep it up, everyone!0 -

Lori's goal for September: I started this challenge out at 132 and my goal is to finish it at 125. Doable but still going to be really hard. 125 is my goal weight. I want to get there and go into maintenance mode and then work on TONING UP a lot more. I also hope that reaching 125 will finally allow me to go off of blood pressure meds for good!
LAST~ PLEASE do not forget our new link to our new spreadsheet. Gary had to redo them all so here's the new link:
If it doesn't say MASTER COPY, you are on the old one.
