Just remind yourself why you are doing this. Tell yourself that you are not going to quit. Losing weight and getting healthy is important.
You can do it!0 -
I bought a heart rate monitor to help me with that push. I don't like going below 145 so if I see it starting to drop then I pick it up. It hurts, and goodness knows I hate to get sweaty but when I'm all finished then it's a kick *kitten* feeling to know that I did all of that!0

in all reality in my head I am saying come on just a little longer, push it , push it. ah shhh push it......ok kidding on the last part stole that from salt-n-peppa0

I breath in deeply and imagine the hot chick I'm going to turn into. It helps. A lot.0

I usually have some jumpin music that keeps me going. . . or a visual picture of what I want to look like locked in my mind. . I have been known to put the weight that I desire on my wrist and look at it when I am pushing through a workout. .
My boxing instructor always said when you are out of breathe it is actually better to keep going and not stop if you can push through it as it increases your endurance. .
It is actually more difficult if you stop and try to restart. . I was running 2 miles at a time and doing circuit training. . Hope this helps. .
And personally I pray. . if I am feeling I can go no further. Your breathing is very important as well. . focus on it in any exercise. .0 -
I tell myself that "I can do this" and I keep moving no matter how slow. Slow motion is better than no motion. Eventually my body reaches a point where I can start moving faster again and I don't feel the pain quite as intensely.0

I think of where I am vs. where I want to be.

Well at my gym they have t.v's but i cant seem to concentrate on them lol Luckily my gym is next to a walmart so i watch all the hilarious people go in & out and when im about to die on the treadmill i look at the numbers and say to myself im gonna go til i get to 150 then when i get to 150 i say i can go up to 160 ....i just keep telling myself i can go up burn an even number & the next time i look down its usually an uneven number so i tell myself to go to the next even number ...works pretty well for me:)0

I rely heavily on a kick-*kitten* playlist to get me through my cardio sessions. Rock and Pop mostly.0

I count to 4 over and over and over. For some reason it helps me.0

I watch TV. I have a TV right in front of my treadmill.
Me too. Only way for me is to be distracted. Right now, it's by Jennifer Garner, as I watch re-runs of Alias.0 -
I do Ripped in 30 and its rally hard work but I keep going thinking about the end result, how hot I will look when Ive lost all that weight, how bad I feel about beeing overweight, that I dont want to look like this and that loosing weight comes with a lot of hard work and I just need to prove to myself and the universe that I have what it takes to be rewarded with a superfab body!
And when it comes to different moves I ususally just challenge myself to do another five, and then five more, and then five more and oh, what do you know, Jillian has already moved on to the next move, and then when the second set of the same move comes i remind myself that i only need to do antoher ten of this move today and then im freeeee at last.0 -
I really have to push through to get myself up this ridiculously steep hill when I go on my runs. I first ask myself why the hell I keep going up it because it really sucks. I then tell myself it will be way worth it, just wait till this becomes easy.0

All kidding aside, I spell the word PAIN over and over again. My mom has some very serious health issue which was made worse by inactivitiy and she is a pain most of the time. I just think about the pain I will experience if I don't kept moving.0

I do that, to helps me keep rhythm and thus no slowing down
If i'm really struggling I just think about what this burn, sweat and discomfort will help me achieve.0 -
No pain, No gain!0

I'm like a few of the other people. I just keep telling myself one more .. ok one more .. ok one more .. until finally the move I'm on is over and suddenly I realize that I did the entire exercise without missing any of it.0

When I want to stop, I just say "only ____more minutes/____ more reps and you can rest all you want". I think about where I want to be and that is usually motivation enough. Music also helps. It may sound crazy but talking to yourself sometimes helps. Just not loud enough for the person on the treadmill next to you to hear otherwise they might think you are a little cuckoo Tell yourself you can do it, don't stop etc. Good luck.0

i watch tv. what not to wear, say yes to the dress. things like that where they talk about how to dress for your size and how thin you can look in different styles.0
-
I think of people who drive me out of my freaking mind like TDGee and seantaylor..and I picture kicking their *kitten* into next week..motivation indeed!!!!0

I put myself somewhere, maybe it's a 5k, or chasing down a suspect, or trying to beat my old time, anything I can do to push myself that little bit, I also remember how good I will feel when I finish.0

The sweat is what keeps pushing me. With every drop of sweat i know im going to see resulta and it just makes me want to push harder!0

If I'm doing something like sit-ups or jump rope, where I'm counting and find it's getting hard I count by lower numbers. Like if I'm going strong at a set of 50 jumps for jump rope and begin to dwindle down, I go by 10's until I reach 50 instead of counting through 50 completely. Hopefully that made sense. lol0

I play little mind games with myself, like it sounds many other do too. I cover the front of my machine so I can't see all the numbers, I immerse myself in music that makes me groove, and I tell myself that like that little engine, I CAN DO THIS...depending on how much time is left, in my mind I will say: you can do anything for 22 minutes, or 17 or whatever is left when I feel like I want to stop...that is when I dig deep, and go hard....
Best to you! xx:flowerforyou:0 -
I take sip of water... that takes up about 5-10 seconds since it's a task at that point to not choke on the elliptical or treadmill or whatever it is you're on... then I'm like come on come on come on and then the interval is over and I can slow down and recover for a little bit... high interval training is the only way I can get cardio in .. otherwise it's boring to me...0

I get almost in a zone state. I listen to music and think about a lot of different things, but MOSTLY the clothes I can wear if I keep pushing myself. I am planning on spending a lot of money on a new wardrobe when I reach my goal. Also, I workout by a mirror, so I can see myself! I know it sounds crazy, but it works. Seeing yourself kick *kitten*, really motivates you to continue kicking it!0

I could write a novel about everything I think about, but it varies drastically. sometimes I really don't feel as into it as I should and I tell myself "It's just exercise" or "seriously you're slacking? It'll be over in 15 minutes." "what's 10 more minutes, you can do that, you will be happy when it's done." "think about how accomplished you felt last time."
If none of that works, then I just go through the motions, and if the workout sucks, at least I did something, and I'll get back in the groove the next day.
and another important thing to remember is that modifying your workout is great, sometimes the absolute best thing to do. if you can't keep up with the dvd, class instructor, friend, or even yourself, just take it easy and then get going. nothing makes for a bad workout if you do too much at once, pace yourself, you got this0
