    This Guttless Gutter is in!

Great challenge on a day where I was waivering  .... okay 10 lbs. (I'd like to strive for 12 lbs) but Valentine's Day:heart: . And that will only happen with excercise at least 5 times a week and more water drinking!

 What's the dope on Mountain Dew? My diet Mountain Dew has been getting me through as I stopped coffee (no more teeth stains) and it has that a bit of sweetness to keep me on track... is there too much sodium?

    THANK YOU!

Besides being good mixers ( ) soda has no redeeming qualities to it.

(This coming from the wino of the board!)

That's why I switched from Rum N Coke to Bud Light  :drinker: No soda.....and beer is good for the heart:bigsmile: See this little clip from an article I read about it below (and I've also heard it is actually good to have some beer now and then......:drinker: ) So yes, that's why I drink it.....the health benefits....yeah that's why  :drinker: :smokin:

    ALCOHOL AND THE HEART

Observers have long suspected that drinking alcohol was somehow good for the heart. Just how good and why, they weren't sure until late in the 20th century. To date, over sixty studies throughout the world have investigated in detail if drinking alcoholic beverages did indeed lead to more healthy hearts, and how.

Dr. Jerome L. Abramson of Emory University and his team of researchers studied 2,235 elderly men and women with an average age of 74. They found that compared to non-drinkers, those in the group who drank at least 1.5 drinks daily had a 20-50 percent less chance to develop heart failure.

Another study on the effects of drinking alcohol and aging conducted in Germany also found that alcohol was good for the heart. Dr. Wolfgang Koenig of the University of Ulm's German Center for Research on Aging published a report in the July 2001 issue of Epidemiology. Dr. Koenig and his researchers studied 800 men and women, one-third of whom had established heart and blood vessel problems. Blood samples were collected and the results showed that alcohol improves the balance of lipids (fats) in the blood, and reduces blood's tendency to clot.

    I'm in!
    157. (ticker's not right, but I refuse to change it!)
I only manage to lose around 4 pounds a month, but since I've been kinda outta of it for the past couple of months, perhaps my body will respond like I just started and lose more (like you do when you first start!)
    sooo...
By Valentine's Day let's aim for 150? But I'd be happy with 153 (since that's the 5 pounds I gained in the month of December from all the goodies, drinks and parties):grumble: :grumble:
Keep me on my toes BEFORE!

    Howdy thread stranger.

    HOWDY!
Haven't spoken in awhile
I'll check in every day if you do!
And forget the loose long sleeve shirts! I want an UnderArmour on ya!

Ok, looks like a good turn out for the challenge.

Bummed that I am the only guy though.

I am so confident this time, that I am going to photograph my progress and save on my computer.
I am also only wearing loose long sleve shirts until March. I wanna shock everyone come March.

    Good Luck everyone.
    :flowerforyou:

PS I am already behind on my water. :grumble:

OK. You've got another guy on here now. 10 seems to be the norm, but as you all know, us guys turn everything into a competition or a challenge. I was looking at the calendar today and was wondering how long till I get to 200 even (for the first time in about 10 yrs!) . I've got 15 to go, so that's my goal.
The good thing is that I've decided if I don't reach it by then it's not a failure. I'll be that much closer to my overall goal. I leave for an "overseas trip" at the end of Feb, so if I can do the 15 by then I'll be just as happy. That gives me almost 2 months of really workin at it.
Wish me luck...and good luck to everyone else that has joined!

    Good Morning Gutters :smooched: :flowerforyou:
Ok........so, I weighed myself and ummmm I'm the same as I was yesterday. Last night I did my 52 minute TaeBo workout (Fatburn Accelorater Amped), and walked the dog 2 miles. I stayed within my calorie range. So day 1 went well.:drinker:

OH! And I drank all my water too :smokin:
