Alright I've been slacking but I'm going to catch up this week. I'm at 25 for the day. I hope to do another 25 later. Q

I have done two sets of 20 today (two sets of 15 yesterday) so up to 70 swings. I don't think I'll get to 10500 Swings but I'm going to see how many I CAN do.

You probably have a much heavier kettlebell than me.

Mine is 9lbs, debating about hanging on until I find it easy or downsize to a 6lbs. Think I'll stick with my 9lbs one and save my money for a heavier one if/when I need one.

330 swings so far this week. That puts me at a total of around 930.

I've been counting the swings and the snatches in the dvd workouts, plus I did an extra 100 swings today.

I just picked up a kettlebells class at the Y. So far I'm in love. Now, you all are counting swings? I haven't been doing that. Just doing whatever the instructor tells us to. I still can't believe I haven't torn something or thrown something out of whack (knocks on virtual wood). It kicks my *kitten* (literally) but I seem to be a glutton for punishment. I don't know if I can join this challenge since we do a lot more than swing the bells in class and I am too fried to try and keep track of how many when we do...but carry on guys. This is awesome exercise!
  • I am definitely in! I love the kettlebells, you get cardio and weight lifting in one exercise. I just read a magazine article that said the average kettlebell workout burns 272 calories in 20 minutes!!
  • FYI at wal---mart, i found a set of 3 of the Jillian Micheals Kettlebells for about 36$. It also came with a dvd. LOVE IT!! She teaches how to do them with correct form. Incorrect form can lead to injury. HAVE FUN YOU GUYS!

I mentioned this in another kettlebell thread too - but artofstrength.com has a ton of short "minute of strength" videos on kettlebells. Form, what size to use, demonstrating different exercises etc.

Also, the previous poster mentioned wal-mart as a place to get bells. I'll second that! They have some nice kettlebells from cap barbell on the wal-mart website. We got a set of 3 bells from there with free shipping to the store.

After almost a week off I've only just about caught up with the schedule. I'm at 3040 swings - almost a third of the way there! But I'll have a bad week next week because I'm away again for work. Maybe they'll have kettlebells in the hotel gym...

I managed 40 swings last night and 40 again tonight.
    I used a 15 lb kettlebell.

I'm just beginning so I'm taking it easy to start.

    oooo - would love to.
I have a 16kg KB, this would be nice to add to my usual CF WOD.

I'll be out for a few weeks as having surgery on Friday, but once I'm back to it, I think I can catch up.

Not too light - but not that heavy either. If I'm doing the Art of Strength Providence dvd I use a 30 lb for the swings, and 15, 20, or 25 lb for the other rounds. My other dvds are more boot camp style with a mix of exercises in each round which makes it harder to switch weights during the round so I usually go with the 20 lb.

    cool.

    harder the better! :p

    Another 100 with 20kg(44lbs) (5 x 20 - 60 seconds rest) upon waking this morning.
Not too bad...will do it again tomorrow! but 5 x 21. i want to add 1 rep to each set each day. In 20 days, that will give almost 3000.

    5 x 21 x 20kg this morning. I can see this becoming a good morning ritual!
See how my body takes to it, lol. Slighty siff already in the lower back, but mostly the hammies! Slight stiffness in the shoulders too, lol.

Love the burn at the end of the last set!

Wife thinks i'm insane. she is probably right.

I have been looking for something new to do, so I'm in on the challenge (better late than never). I have had a kettlebell for almost a year and have only used it 2/3 times...not counting as a door stop!
