Every. Dang. Day.
Sometimes - I don't trust the number - so I step on 2 or 3 more times.

Are we twins? lol ... Ditto!0 -
I used to weigh every morning, but it varied my 2-3 pounds daily... It was driving me crazy and I was getting discouraged if the scale increased... So now I weigh once a week... Every Monday morning.... before eating or drinking anything and naked! LOL... I used to do Marketing for a gym... they did coaching there and it was customary to weigh in once a week and get your measurements taken every two weeks... In the first 2 weeks on here I was very discouraged cause I didn't see a change on the scale.. But then took my measurements and was down 5 1/2 Inches... Yay!!! Good luck to you! Feel free to add me as a friend... I am more than happy to dish out encouragement daily! I have to say logging on and having the support of others in the same boat keeps u motivated...0

I read somewhere that among people trying to lose weight, those who weigh themselves every day lose more than those who weigh themselves less frequently. I tend to weigh myself on most days; sometimes I weigh myself a few times in one day. If you do weigh yourself daily, be prepared for inconsistent results: My weight can vary by up to 5 pounds in a single day. Understand that weighing yourself daily does not accurately show your weight loss--the fact you're two pounds lighter than two days earlier doesn't necessarily mean you lost any weight. However, if you're following the recommended eating plan for losing weight from myfitnesspal, you'll most likely lose weight. When you look at your daily results for the last few weeks, then you'll know how well you're progressing in losing weight. Good luck.0

^ This..LOL0 -
Every morning before breakfast. I find that watching small swings help me to understand the importance of daily exercise and of not "grazing" in the evening. The .2 or .4 loss is very motivating to me. As is the same type of gain.0

thanks everyone for all the quick responses! glad to hear im not alone w/ weighing daily, but i think ill just pick one day of the week to log in on MFP.0

I try to do it 2-3 times a day. I'm not obsessive, like someone above said, I want to understand how my body works better. How much fluid do I retain? How much do I lose sleeping? That being said, sometimes I get busy and don't weight myself for a few days, but mostly I do it once in the morning and once in the evening. My weight usually fluxates about 4 lbs throughout the day.0

I do the same thing. Only I weigh myself multiple times a day. I'd say I weigh myself at least 10 times a day on average. I only count my weight from Wednesday morning as soon as I get up and I only count that weight if I weighed the same thing Tuesday morning. So if on Tuesday morning I weighed 187.8 but Wednesday morning I weighed 187.4 I would report my weight as being 187.8. I figure if I get the same thing two mornings in a row it should be accurate. I know I probably put way too much thought into it but hey it's working for me!!!0 -
Daily, and I record it Daily. I view MFP as a day-to-day program, and every day is a new start, so I weigh every day (good or bad!) and let me tell you, some times I know I gained, and it is hard to get on the scale, but those are the most important days to do it, so that I can get back on track!0

several times a day, I like to see the dynamics...0

Every morning and every night. My diet is so regular right now that based on the nightly scale I pretty much know what I'll be in ther morning (usually drops by about 1 kg).0

Ha!!! I weigh myself every time I walk into my closet. I'm completely obsessive about it - it's ridiculous actually. Not that the scale changes all that much if I pee or blow dry my hair or eat. I LOG IN the weight on Monday morning though - it fluctuates too much during the day for me to take it too seriously.0
-
But if you weighed yourself everyday, wouldn't you get discouraged if say you gained a couple of pounds? Especially when on days when you thought you had exceptionally well only to find out you hadn't? Just wondering.0
-
I weigh once a week.......Monday morning.....after loo and before food completely naked.......0
-
Once a week. Less than that and I am too lenient on myself (skipping workouts, not tracking meals, etc...). More than that and I get obsessive about it (weighing myself 5-6 times a day and freaking out over the slightest change).0
-
And, I'm STILL not OCD. But, I did have to sort my M&Ms into colors before I ate them (back when I ate them). :smokin: :smokin: :smokin:
That's not normal? I could have sworn that was normal!0 -

Ditto! It's so annoying to see a different number pop up everytime you step on!!0 -
Every morning now that I bought a new scale. Talk about a blow to your physchy when you step on the scale and it dies. Mine got played on by too many kids repeatedly wanting to know if they'd grown yet. Need it to stay on track.0
-
I weigh daily...it helps me to stay on track.0

I weigh once a week on Tuesday morning @ my doctor's office.0
-
Every morning when I wake up. I use the hacker's diet website to track the trend, and have an excel spreadsheet.0
-
Twice a week. On Monday so I can see if there are any consequences from my cheat meal. And Friday so I can see if my week of workouts paid off.0
-
Currently, every few weeks.
I used to do it Saturday mornings.
If I did daily, the fluctuation would be pretty discouraging, but I found once a week a more realiable/accurate measurement.0 -
Every morning after I workout, in underwear and a tshirt; before I have eaten0
-
Once a week, same day, try to do it same time. Also I weight in every time I go to the nutritionist or WLS doctor. When I first started going to the doctor, I wasn't permitted to weight myself at home at all. The scale number is not supposed to be as important as learning to pursue my nutritional and exercise goals. Your weight can fluctuate as much as 8-10 pounds per day and it will drive you nuts if you weight yourself daily.0
-
Every morning, I couldn't go all week not knowing whether I was on track or not.0
-
I personally weight myself WAY too much. Probably around three times a day (once in the morning, once in the afternoon and once at night). It sounds weird but it's like my way of trying to see how my body changes throughout the day...
And it's totally hypocritical, I know it's best to weigh yourself once or twice a week, it's probably just my way of being scared that I will gain weight over the course of a week without realizing it haha.0
