ALSO - as of right now, we're in first place on the map. Did you know you've made it all the way to India?? Go TEAM!!!

The map isn't completely up to date, I don't think our distance is correct, I gave Lee an updated thing that might help him out for the first 5 days. And not every team has been added in with their total mileage. I am optimistic but I wouldn't be surprised if we were not in first place.

Mind you we've all been doing a lot of calorie burn so if this is the effort we give and we come up losing I don't mind losing knowing we gave it our all.
  • Okay guys,

The map is up to date.
and we are way ahead of everyone else.
I don't want anyone slacking off if you can help it though. We are averaging as a group a 961 calories burned each a day. This number is amazing. Lets see if we can improve on this. My challenge to all of you for the next week is take the worst day you've had (not including rest days) and add 150 calories to it. Make that the lowest day you go for the following week. So lets say you're worst day was 500 for the whole week. For the following week your worst day would be 650. Think you can do it? Let's keep pushing ourselves and win this thing. We are on pace to finish this around Oct. 16

That's the one Lee created. Check it out, someone was giving us props.
  • I think if we intend to win this challenge my idea of putting out an average of 4000 a day is on the lower side.
It's a good thing we've been doing so well. What I recommend if possible is try to do 600 calories a day if you can do it.
We have some big burners on our team to help us along with this but I think our daily average needs to be over 5000 daily if we expect to be in this thing.

Shirley you've done this challenge before,
Is there anything you could add to give us a better sense of how we should approach it?

So far we are doing great!! last Challenge Lee was stepping in and changeing up the challenge with water day contributing to miles and that was a rest day. So far there is no rest day placed out there by Lee. Like you say if we all aim to do over 600+ a day while the spirit is high we will Ace this challenge since we have to accept the longer something go on for persons may loose interest. On a positive note WE ARE IN THE LEAD!!! WELL DONE THAT JET IS FLYING HIGH!!!

Only managed to get 357 today. I have a crazy busy weekend of volunteering with the Mother Road Marathon and a United Way fundraiser for work as well as working the JHS football game concession stand last night, so I'm having a hard time squeezing in workout time. I have a 5 mile training run to get in tomorrow afternoon, so that should get me around 400 or so for tomorrow, then Monday I'm back to my regular schedule, including that AWESOME spin class!! Keep up the great work, everyone!!
  • I busted out the best day I've had on here today. 1784 calories burned.
I am happy I did this especially knowing how much I indulged last night.

You guys are SERIOUSLY ROCKING this challenge!
  • Our lead isn't as good as it was...
Teams are really picking up their effort we need to do the same if we hope to win this.
Also, On thursday there's a thing happening called Attack Thursday where captains of opposing teams will PM a captain of the team they wish to attack. If they select us, we have to give them the calories burned by our top team member that day and that total gets added into their miles traveled for that day. Those miles still count for us though.

So I'm trying to figure out the best strategy for this and in all honesty, if we can get ourselves 3000 calories closer to the finish line and everyone moves up 3000 calories too I don't see that as an issue. It all depends on how much we get attacked and I will try to figure it out more. Expect to see an email from me with a game plan. For now keep kicking it into high gears and stay focused, stay at it.

    Thanks everyone.

Aggie and Eric came within ONE CALORIE of tying for first place today, so I gave it to both of them. Great job, folks!!
  • Im not done for the night. First place will be rightfully mine.
  • Today we completed 70% of the race.

    great work everyone

Hope you all are enjoying the Pacific Islands!!
  • We are around hawaii right now but he's still updating the map and he still needs to add another day of ours.

Also we've been attacked once so far today. I haven't attacked any team yet.
  • So we are on our way to mexico, we are about 80% done the course and we are being attacked 3 times so far.
  • If anyone's been paying attention, we attacked AJ and the jets yesterday and got an extra 1428 calories added to our total.
We have about 20 500 calories to go or so.. We should have this completed by Sunday at sometime. i guess the question is this: When we complete it, do we want to keep going? see how much farther we can get around the world before it all ends? or before the 2nd team finishes?
  • Yes I think we should keep going until the end of October at least! This game has really kept me motivated, you should tell Lee to add more markers the world is bigger that he expected and our fuel ain't run out yet lol!! Really good job everyone this is a record achievement I don't think it has ever been done in two weeks this is amazing! Are you 100% sure we finish on Sunday Eric??
  • 13000 calories left to go.. I don't see why we can't get it done by tomorrow.

I didn't log any calories yesterday because I had to work then went out of town - I also skipped Zumba this morning because we didn't get home until about 4am. However, I still plan on doing SOMETHING later this evening, just haven't decided what yet, and tomorrow is my 4 mile run.

Keep up the great work, guys!
  • 11 488 left so far as of right now.
I don't know if I'll be doing anymore I think aggie's taking a rest day. No idea what Sams doing.

I'm a freakin' loser today - and yesterday...I went shopping and walked around forever if you can even count that as exercise, but it only amounted to 306 calories. Either way, we're super close, so even if we don't hit it tomorrow, we've got just a couple days left. Come on guys! Let's get it!!
  • It just sucks we got this close and we pull out our worst number since we started.
We will need our biggest day yet tomorrow if we hope to finish it..
I'm not blaming anyone or anything. Everyone's done a tremendous job.. We are just so close!
  • I am sorry my friends for not pulling my weight these past few days I have not been feeling well but I am on the turnaround now and I will see what I can do after work tonight.

I'm almost certain we'll have it tomorrow - I have spin class which is usually about 1,300-1,400 calories...Shirley usually puts up some pretty big numbers, and several others have been kicking @$$ and taking names...we're just under 4,000 calories left so if we DON'T finish tomorrow I'll be super surprised. We're on the home stretch, team - keep it up!!

    WOOHOO! WE'RE HOME!!!!

Now I don't feel so bad for changing my workout schedule to make Mondays my rest days - that was going to really put a kink in things for me if we didn't make it today because of me.

    Great job, everyone!!

    What now??
  • We keep on going. I am logging our miles throughout the rest of the month.

I think lee is going to be using us for something I am not too sure.. But yeah.

The next race will be in december it's a trip to every country and right now Lee has it set up where it's 72000 miles and each calorie = 1 mile. He said teams of 8, this makes the challenge way too easy. I suggested either a team of 5 or a team of 10 where 2 calories = 1 mile. You need to complete it by December 24.

If it stays as a team of 8 and 1 mile = 1 calorie I will not be partaking in it.

Why not do it and have your goal be TWO laps?!
