bump for later. I have a couple of bags of shirataki not knowing what to do with them. The only way my hubby liked them was when I made as a tuna artichoke pasta. Now I cant have tuna often so they're just sitting on the fridge. We noticed that they are not very good tasting with Italian recipes so I imagined it would probably be better with an asian recipe. This sounds good. Will try soon.

The one thing you really should do if you want to do italian dishes... I find rinsing with hot water, and the flashing it with cold water really does help.

Tonight Im actually planning on Chicken Florentine and Chicken Primavera and the Angel-hair works tremendously well!

Am I the only one who gets a horrible stomach ache from these noodles? Tried them once. Never again... Sounds delicious (in theory) though!

Well hell - it should be easy to find it in one of the many asian food stores in China-town then! I betcha you can ask to have them order it or you can order online from a vendor directly!

Asian grocery stores will be half the price. It's definitely your best bet!

I eat a pound per day and have never had that happen. I HAVE read, however, that people who don't eat much fiber have to adjust to these since they're rich in fiber.

I would give them another try but start with smaller portions.

Or build up your system by eating more fiber rich foods like oranges.

The cooking method definitely matters. If you fry them, on high, in a skillet sprayed with cooking spray-- until they're bone dry-- you will be very pleased with the texture.

Umm...2 grams of fiber per serving is hardly "rich in fiber." (And besides, I eat tons of natural sources of fiber, I don't need to get my fiber from highly processed tofu that smells like fish.) It's the glucomannan in them.

If you read my post you'll see that shirataki noodles do NOT have tofu in them. If you happen to buy "TOFU shirataki noodles" you should expect to find some tofu in them, but shirataki noodles do not contain tofu.

And if you read my post, then you'll note that's not my point. Either way, they still contain glucomannan.
