    10-15-11 95/100

    I set my bike up differently. I turned the handlebar risers upside down. This allowed me to drop the Mountainbike style handlebars by about 5 inches.

    I averaged about 1.5 miles per hour increase. Wooohooo!!

    Made my ride 10 minutes shorter. ie...faster


    Now get your clips. Get an inexpensive pair and take ten more minutes off your ride. Of course you will have to learn to use them some but worth it. Glad you made the change seeing these results.

    Last week was too wet for me to ride much during the week :( Finally dry again so I am back out and up to 87.

    Did 39 miles saturday bringing me to 146.95 for the month .......

    Average speed max was 13.8. (on the mostly downhill out part, but the mostly uphill back part pulled me down to 12.4) I am still happy. Was averaging 10.5 mph

    October 9 21.1 It was a cool day, and the bridge over Foothill Blvd in Upland is OPEN!!!. My ride just got shorter and easier, but a bit safer too
    October 14 30.32mi, including a few thousand feet up Euclid Blvd
    .
    October 16 - 21.1miles at slightly over 16mph. I thought I was doing better than that, but can't argue with the cyclocomputer.

    October 18 - 21.0 miles at 17.5mph average. No hills again today. I think I'll just have to do one day of ONLY hills and kill my legs a bit.

    Also, I met my goal of 100, am finding that I can increase my numbers with short 20mi rides here and there. We'll see what happens towards the end of the month.
