A year and a half. I was about taking it slow and finding the eating and exercise routine that worked for me as a permanent change.0

i started my weight loss in may and have lost 30 pounds. So about 5 months. but, i messed up a lot and if i would have been stricter, im sure i could have lost it in 3-4 months. i think it all just depends on how disciplined you are. good luck0

I had tons to lose. I lost 20 in the first month. It is all going to depend on each individual.0

started same date and have lost 24. If you don't have as much to lose it sometimes takes longer so it is hard ot give an answer0 -

About a month and a half(:0

2 months0

March - September. 6 months.
I was pretty fierce about it, never "cheated", always exercised, always ate back exercise calories, used a heart rate monitor, tried to always be as accurate as possible. When I hit a plateau, I retweaked my numbers and tried to figure out where the stall was happening, foods or exercise, etc. Did LOTS of research on this website and others to make sure I wasn't wasting time LOL!
Best of luck!0 -
About a month and a half(:
Are you serious? What did you do?0 -
Wow, that's amazing that you can lose weight so fast. I lost 20 in four months and am a standstill at the moment due to a couple of bad week. My goal is to lose another 20 by xmas, but that might be a little unrealistic.0

Started April 1, 2010 at 177lbs and by Sept 2010 I was 150lbs.0

I also started July 25th! LOL
I am down 28.8 as of this morning.0 -
Ok so because of the variability in how much time you all lost 30lbs, so it is realistic to lose it by January right? That's my goal to lose it by my birthday.0

What do you do???
Just use MFP to track what I eat, walk around 30 minutes minimum each day while wearing my baby in a baby carrier, and I breastfeed which burns an extra 300cals a day. I also try to eat all my calories including exercise calories.0 -
A lot of people who lose weight that quickly have a lot to lose. It comes off quicker with that much to lose. You only have 30lbs to lose. You shouldn't count on (or even try for) any more than a pound a week, and even then it seems like the last 10lbs take forever for a lot of people.0

YES! I am on day five........0 -
It has taken me 7 months to lose 30lbs. For me it's taken hard work and determination. Working out as much as possible and watching what I eat has been super important.0

I started at 160 on May 31. I'm currently at 125. So about 4 months. I ate a mostly high protein diet, but didn't cut our carbs. So it was not really Atkins or Paleo. More like Zone probably, but I didn't follow anything very strictly.
In general, my meals are:
1 protein bar for breakfast (the 200 calorie kind). If I was feeling ambitious, I'd make some eggs (whole, I love the yolk)
1 salad for lunch with chicken or tuna (usually works out to be about 300-400 calories)
1 apple for snack or some beef jerky
Dinner is usually a protein of some kind: steak, chicken sausages, pork chops, chicken breasts with some vegetables
followed by some fruit and low fat yogurt as dessert
I usually have at least one cheat day where I could eat out: have a slice of pizza, have a burger, get some Thai or Indian food, have a slice of pie, etc.
I work out usually every day at least 30 minutes, but sometimes an hour with a mix of cardio (elliptical or jogging and some weight training: sit ups, push ups, squats, dumbbell exercises)0 -
I worked out on my treadmil 5-6 days a week walking and some minor jogging on high inclines. I just started 30 Day Shred 6 days ago. I also just started doing weights too. Am pretty good with working out! I make sure I workout everyday, even on my "rest" day am still moving. Feel free to friend me so you can seen my diary if you like No magic pill just LOTS of hard work.0

There are so many factors to consider and everyone is different. I think my goals are similar to yours. I wish I was 5'9", but I've actually shrunk from 5'6" to 5'5". (sigh) Anyway, I started in mid-August 2011 at 170, and I'm currently at 155. I'm working to be at 130 when my 60th birthday rolls around on Jan 31st. We're going to have an extra reason to celebrate our birthdays in 2012!0

Yea I don't want to rush it but at the same time I've been stuck for a very very long time and I'm just so ready to lose these 30 pounds... Ultimately I would like to lose 40 but I'm shooting for 30 by early next year and then will work on those last 10 pounds.. I'm really working hard and it's just taking forever0 -
hi there, i have lost 20 pounds (or 10kg) and its taken 8 weeks.... in another 4 weeks i hope to break the 30 pd mark... SO i would say totally possible in a 12 week, diet and exercise based program plan. By your birthday? totally possible, but have to stay motivated and keep your eye on the goal.... GOOD LUCK!0
