I've learned to really really embrace this word as well.

Hopping into my 'Way back machine' . When I was on the police force in Toronto, a fellow officer and I were talking about a superior officer in a derogatory manor, when he walked into the room. My buddy caught himself before he said what he really wanted to say and 'turd log nose ' came out of his mouth. I have never forgotten it and occasionally use it to describe someone unpleasant.

    Turd log nose!

That has long been a word I would never say. Recently my wife has decided it needs to be taken back, and has used it once in a while, thankfully mostly in humorously appropriate places. It has left my mouth a couple of times as a result.

    Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis

Oh, wow---i am unsure I have ever met anyone other than my sister than even knew this word. We had a contest in middle school to learn the longest most complicated, be able to spell, and pronounce it. My sister and I won with this one...

Curious to know how anyone else other than a medical professional would come across such a word

    I love phlegm.

The word itself looks and sounds as gross as the substance actually is, which makes it a total victory for the English language.
