    Girl - Batman

Gosh, I hate it when people use a boy's name for a girl. Couldn't you at least spell it Baytmanne to make it more feminine?

I forgot my favorite boy name earlier-- Adam. We never had a boy, and we're done, but if we had, I'd have pushed hard for Adam.

And for those of you that want your baby's name to be unique or different, remember, most people in this generation feel that way, so my experience is that in my childrens' classes/groups (ages 7 through 2), we know 2 Atticuses, and no Adams. LOL 'Unique' is the new 'common.'
  • I am never having another child...I hope. lol But I love babynames.

    My kids are:

    Girl: Raven Ella Mae

    Boy: Blake Phoenix

Raven was going to be Maia, but when she was born my husband said she was a "Dark raven haired beauty", so that's what we named her. Blake wasn't named for 5 days. We could not agree and finally compromised and now I can't imagine him as anything else.

    Love both of those names!

Daughter: Zulma (my husbands late mother's name) and Corrin
Son: Dartanian Danger....yes my son will be able to say "danger is my middle name!"

it's so much easier to pick a dog's name.

Picking out dog names is the hard part...don't want to stick them with something they will hate! I mean, my husband wants to name our pitbull, "Tiny" how cliche!

Yeah, but at least your dog isn't going to be teased at school!

My friend named her son Tucker (so you KNOW what kids are going to rhyme that one with). Tried to talk her out of it....but it didn't work...

I have an Evelyn and a Gabriel.
I have a Gabriel, too. Also, a Madeleine. If I were to have another child, the name would be Phoebe for a girl and Byron for a boy.

Two general rules to avoid a lifetime of resentment from your child:

    1. If you have to explain how to pronounce it ... choose a different name.
    2. If you have to explain how to spell it ... choose a different name.

Please don't saddle your child with a name that will ALWAYS be mispronounced and/or misspelled.

My son's name is Daniel (because you really can't go wrong with Bible names)
If our next child is a girl, I'm really pushing for Cordelia (my husband hates this name), but I think it's so pretty and very old and unique.

LOL my sister still misspells my middle name, but it's my middle name so I don't get too upset, and I've come to enjoy the unique spelling, Ranae, rather than Renee

My best friend's name is Emily Rene. I thought it was spelled differently, too, until I met her Aunt Rene. :)

My Aunt Diane ALWAYS misspells my name, and my Dad always wants to spell my sister's name with a K, even though he helped name her Caitlin. Oh dear.

Adding more love for Rhys.

Also @Bronwen, I absolutely adore your name. It was on my list for a long time, but I could never get my husband on board. I might an amazing women named Bronwen when I was a teen, and it really stuck with me.

And, @rblair- Cordelia is another one I love. I wanted a little Cordelia nicknamed Delia- but then my husband would start signing Johnny Cash and never stop!
