I have my goal weight to be 180. I am also 5'10. I just don't think I can go down that far. I will recheck closer to that weight.

For me, look awesome at 140. Much below that, and people ask if I'm ill. Maybe my bones just weigh more than other people's, but I'm always mystified at models/actresses who are my (our) height, and weigh 110. I got down to 119 once (not on purpose), and seriously looked emaciated and awful. So my goal is 140. :-)

Well, the general weight for a fully developed woman is 100lbs at 5' and 5lbs for every 1" after. So, generally speaking, for you it would be 150lbs. But, I am 5'10 1/2" and I've noticed that I feel the healthiest anywhere between 150-160 when I am toned. I would say just get toned and see how you feel. I am sure you will lose some weight by trying to get toned anyways. Good luck!

I think it entirely depends on bone structure, as well. I'm 5'9 1/2", and I weigh 134-135. But I'm not emaciated or anything! I think I'd probably look healthy anywhere from where I'm at now, to about 150 lbs.

I am at 163 right now and want to get to 160. I would be just fine where I am at and tone some more.....I don't want to be model-thin. I want to be healthy and have a body that I can maintain.

I'm 5'10" and my goal is a solid 150. I think any less would be too hard to get to and maintain.
  • I am 5 9 and just lost weight, so I am at 155, I feel good about that, now just working on toning up a little more. Your goal weight should really be based on how you feel in your skin. I was at 167 and just did not feel good, at 155, I feel more confident in my skin, I know some people have said 140, no way for me, I would look too thin and that is not my goal. Your goal weight should also reflect your goals in general, I wanted healthy and lean, not skin and bones.

    I'm 5'10 and 165 was the smallest i've been. I think 175/180 is good. I'm currently 189 and working on 180

I'm 5'10" as well and currently 197# - the smallest I've been as an adult. I'm aiming for 165#, but since I've never been there, I may re-evaluate if I'm happy with my progress before then.

I am 5'10 & my goal weight is 155 lbs, want to be healthy and look it. I use to be 112 lbs & I looked like I was sick.
  • I'm 5' 9/12 and my goal weight is 153. I found this website that help you figure out what your goal weight should be:

5'10" and my goal is 149... there's just something about being below 150! The thinnest I've ever been was 138, and while I looked good, I didn't feel good. I was really HANGRY all the time :noway: I think every person is different though, good luck!

Such an interesting range! I think it depends on one's body structure as well. I've been within the same weight (give or take 10 pounds) since I was 16 (and only 5'8 then), so I think my body couldn't maintain being 5'10 and 140 pounds. My goal was originally 180, which I think I'd be happy with, but I changed it to 170 recently.

I'm 510, currently sitting at 152lbs and with my structure, I could stand to lose a bit more.
I'm aiming for 140 with tone.

I'm 5' 81/2" my goal is 170. A few years back my doctor said 180 is a good healthy weight for me.

I'm 5'10" and my goal weight is 165. I look good and healthy at that weight. Once I get there, I will see if it is maintainable.
  • I'm 5'10", HW was 185, I'm down to 150 right now, goal is 140-145...
  • I am 5'9 and currently weigh around 162. For my frame (and knowing what I used to look like), I would like to get to a goal weight of 145-150. I look ok now, it's just not toned. I have a thinner frame, but a muscular build if that makes any sense....

I'm also 5'9" and I'm currently at 154lbs which is little more than halfway to my goal of 130. For the people saying they don't think they can get under 175... pfft. That's utter bull. I work in an auto parts factory, it's physically demanding, walking upwards of 6 miles per day and repeatedly lifting heavy parts. I'm more muscular than I've ever been and I'm still down to 155 with belly flub and saggy inner thighs... there's still a lot of weight to lose!

Don't limit yourself. Merely state that this 175 limit is your first goal. Then re-evaluate and press on!

I'm 5'9" and my goal weight is 130lbs, I've got a small frame. I'm sitting around 165lbs at the moment and still feel quite big. Everyone is different though - looking at my sister (I try not too, she's got an amazing figure!!) and her weight and figure I'd need to weigh quite a bit less than her to look the same as her...if that makes sense?!

I'm 5'10 and I'd like to be 150, because i look good between 145 and 160, and I tend to bounce around pretty quickly. I'm currently 194 and I've been down as low as 182 in the last year... Next year by this time I'd like to be down and have maintained.

I'd also like to make it to 160 by my 33rd birthday, and 150 by the fall. Not sure if that's possible for ME. That'd be 34 lbs in 5 months... I will have to work HARD. Time to step up the exercise.

I am 5'9", the lowest I have been in the last 12 months was about 148 (size 6-8), currently 156 (size 8-10). I would love to get to 140 - 145lb and be an easy size 6 but we are trying for baby #2, so just trying to get back to the 150-152 range while I can! My sister who has the same build as me is around 130-135 at 5'9" and still looks healthy and is about a size 4-6.
  • i am 5 9 and my goal is 161-168 really depends on your frame, check out the bmi tool that will give you an idea, anything under about 161 for me and i actually start to look ill, as an adult i think the lowest i have been is around the 151 mark and people just thought i was ill, i have a really large frame though and shoulders like a wrestler!!

Same for me. I could probably get lower but it would be way too hard. I have a medium build.

I'm 5'10" and my goal is 175lbs. I used to be 145 (many years ago) and my doctor was very concerned that I was underweight at the time. He wanted me at 160. I am a classic pear shape though and carry more weight on my butt and thighs. At 145 you could count my ribs and vertebrae! I think the ideal weight depends on your shape and bone structure. I will probably go until I feel strong and healthy and then switch to maintaining. But I'm well past the bikini phase of my life!! LOL
