Rach & Sanifrey - Turns out, my doctor wasn't concerned about the thyroid. He said it wasn't high enough to worry about for now, but to check again in a couple months just in case it's on a steady rise. But, hopefully not! :drinker: I'm taking fish oil to boost my good cholesterol levels and my sugar was only 3 points over, so it could've just been something I ate the night before. :flowerforyou: GREAT thing is... my doctor said proper diet and exercise will help all of these!! :drinker:
I have an awesome pumpkin parfait recipe for you guys... but, I'm still tweaking it, so I'll just list the ingredients. Play with them and see what you get!
Non-fat plain yogurt
100% Pure Pumpkin
Pumpkin Pie Spice or Cinnamon
Cinnamon Graham Crackers
Frozen fruit (any kind)
Splenda
I mixed the yogurt with the pumpkin, Splenda and pumpkin pie spice (to taste), put one whole graham cracker (they come as four small crackers in one big one) in the bottom of a small container (about 1 cup), layered the yogurt pumpkin stuff on top () and then put a few frozen strawberries on top of that.
Talk about yummmm!! I'm not sure of the exact calories, but I'm going to work on that. I also think it would be neat to mix plain gelatin with the mixture so it'll set up!0 -
Alright blue team I have some really exciting news. I stepped on the scale and I had to do it three times because i was like this :noway: I lost 3lbs this week holy crap. I am offically at my halfway point and Im in the 170's I can't even explain how excited I am. Halfway. Now what I mean I know I will keep lossing but like a reward what should I reward myself with. :drinker:0

L - Thanks for sharing the recipe!! I may just have to give it a try!! I'm glad to hear that your DR isn't worried & that you can make improvements with your numbers with diet & exercise!! Sounds like you're in the right place!!
I'm anxiously awaiting The Biggest Loser & my 100 calorie bag of kettle corn!! YummO (as Rachel Ray would say!)
I worked out to the BL power sculpt & then Jillian's cardio kickbosing. Good stuff! I only burned 396 (but I did forget to start my HRM during the 5 minute warm up so I'm sure it's a little higher.... sorry just remembered that!!) But it was a long workout doing the 2 videos. It's hard to keep the girls content that long! My oldest (almost 3) enjoys doing some of the moves with me I just have to watch where she is when it's time for front kicks & lunges!!
Well, I'm gonna go refill my cup of crystal lite before the show & maybe change into some jammies!!
Have a good night Blue Team!!0 -

Good Morning Blue Team!
Hope everyone had a good week I can't wait to see the results. How many people do we have left on the team. Seems like the postings are fading away.
Great job on the 3lbs j_g4ever :drinker:0 -
Yesterday was a pretty stressful day for me which results in seizures for me so no exercise for me. I have been staying up till midnight everynight for the past 4 months to get my daughter up in the middle of the night because of bed wetting and think this is starting to wear on me. About 10 lastnight I went to get up and get water and I lost my balance several times. Knowing from past experiences I went to go sit down and sure enough had a seizure. I was on the computer with a friend (thank god) and she was able to call my house to wake my husband to come and get me. Im hoping today will be a better day as I have lots more to do. Alright that is enough of me complaining now. Everyone you guys have a wonderful day and Im sure I will be on later. Talk to you guys soon. :drinker:0

I was down 3.2 this week - after only .2 last week I am so exctied....that puts me out of the 190s...been at least 3 years since I've been there...
Rest day yesterday but managed to only go over by 12 calories with eating a piece of my daughters birthday cake (the skim milk pushed me over-I didn't plan ahead for it) but I am excited that I was able to work that into a normal day without blowing it.
I will go to gym tonight and work out with hubby - I'd love to try some of the weight stuff but I don't know what I am doing. Need to suck it up and pay for a private trainer for at least 1 session to know what to do. I feel like if I add more strength stuff I'll see even better results - not that mine are bad so far but from everything I've read it seems changing up your routine is as important and eating right to metabolism.
Happy Wednesday!
JG-Hope your feeling better now!0 -
Sorry I've been MIA team....my life has been a string of bad luck, one after the other lately! Here's the latest - I was headed home from Indy last night (I am moving back to Indy since it is cheaper to put all my stuff in storage and stay with a friend) and I get a @#$)*%& FLAT TIRE. Fortunately AAA was there within a half hour and he changed it for me and even put air in the spare for me since it was so low. Unfortunately the tire was not covered under warranty and had to get a new one. :grumble:
Here's the summary of the past 3 weeks for me:
So let's see....I have no job, no insurance, my vaporizer broke, my air purifier broke, my shower broke and they had to cut a hole in the wall to fix it, my cell phone broke into 2 pieces on Sunday and I had to go replace it (fortunately I was already due for a new phone...whew!), and the coat hook in the car broke, and now the flat tire. Oh and I interviewed for a job (2 interviews with them, actually) and I was in the top 3 they were considering and they chose someone else. And that is just the past 3 weeks!! I wonder what is next! :noway:0 -
What's my problem!!! I'm going up little by little each week and I wonder why. Maybe it's because I'm not doing ANYTHING I should be! :grumble: Not exercising very often, eating okay but not logging so I have no idea if I'm hitting anywhere close to my calories, and definitely not drinking enough water!
Grrrr I make myself so mad sometimes. :explode: :ohwell:
Alright, done whining, back to work!0 -
Okay Blue Team!! Here we are!! We'll be going into week 8 soon & we gotta get tough!! How about a challenge?? Maybe we could give up something - a vice (okay I stole this idea from another team, but it is a good one!!) Maybe yours is late night snacking, or sweets, or soda pop, or tasting while cooking?? You decide, report back & let us know how you're doing & what your plans are to make yourself successful!!
Me, I'm going to give up sweets for the week, which is going to be a challenge until my husband eats all the peanut butter desert that is still in the frige!! My plan is to make him eat it until it's gone!! LOL!! Evil, yes a little!! But, these are desperate times!!
Rach - you know what you need to do girl!! you're here, just make the time for yourself!! log your food, exercise & drink that water!! you can do it!!
Shar - i'm sorry to hear that you're having such a bad run of luck! hang in there! it's bound to get better! try to focus on the positive. there's gotta be something positive.. right??
Crissy - good job on the weightloss & reaching a long awaited goal!! keep it up!!
j_g - i'm so very sorry to hear that you're not well. you feel better, k?
Let's keep moving forward blue team & do it for us!! :drinker:0 -
Sounds like a great idea sanifrey!
I think I'll give up chocolate milk! That nesquik is about 60calories for 2 scoops, not to mention the 200cal of milk in my glass and I have at LEAST one of them a day! :noway: I just realized this morning how much of it I drink. So time to say goodbye to it! I need more water anyway!0 -
Hi guys! Hey j, sorry to hear about your ruff times:flowerforyou: . At least you lost a lot of weight! So this is me today:yawn:   .I have to go w/o. I didn't yesterday besides a 30 min walk and I feel very guilty. So, today I have to move it. I'm down a little weight, but will probably be up next week:explode: I was disappointed with BL last night. Anyone else? Well please keep on motivating some of us, cause I'm finding I need it more often these days! My challenge-I am not going to have a cheat day this week. So far, so good...  it's been only 11 hours!
Hang in there Rach.0 -
Rach-
Nestle makes a fat free chocolate milk - maybe it would be better and you wouldn't have to eliminate all together. or maybe it's your vice and with sanifrey's challenge you could give it up
I don't know what to give up - I have changed everything I do eat over the past 6 m - i used to be a sweet tea addict - no more, cheese- little to none, bacon - love bacon but no more unless i have turkey bacon, I'll have to think about it and see what I am looking for that maybe isn't as healthy as something else....
I am disappointed that I missed biggest loser last night!0 -
I dont think I can give up sweets this week. At least I would need a reprieve from it on Saturday. We are having our big annual banquet with cub scouts and I ordered a huge cake for everyone. It has the whipped cream frosting which I love so I will be having cake that day. That may have to be my cheat day because we are having a pot luck type of thing and it will be hard to know what is in everything that I am eating.

I think that's a great idea.
I think my challenge will be my weekend eating. My boyfriend always wants to eat out for dinner Friday, Saturday and sometimes Sunday. :grumble: I will focus on getting healthy food and if he mentions Chinese or Mexican... I think I might kick him in the shin. :laugh:0 -
