You, my friend, aren't a woman. How dare you respond to a Ladies ONLY thread. :flowerforyou:0 -
I always wonder what women's fascination is with this subject. "HALP!! I'm bloated, weigh more, and crave stuff!! What do??" Good grief. :huh:0

Because, despite my lack of female plumbing, this is such common knowledge that I am shocked that a new thread is created hourly about it.0 -
And the monthly period continues to baffle the masses....0

I usually bloat out at that time of the month, haven't really weighed myself around that time to know. Something I think I will keep an eye on.0
-
Congrats on getting your first period :flowerforyou:0

I don't know about the rest of you, but I actually lose 9.6 lbs every month when I'm on mine. And every month, it is just as shocking as when it happened the month before.0

Is that the secret to your weight loss?!0 -

Boobs. Glorious, beautiful, near pre-baby status boobs.
That's where mine goes.
I get to borrow amazing knockers for a week or so (thank goodness it hits before TOM starts), but then I have to return them.
I'd totally take a 2 pound weight gain permanently if I could keep those puppies!!!0 -
^^ Must not have gotten the Ladies ONLY memo ...
Oh wait0 -

I gain 5+ lbs starting a week out. Drink lemon water throughout the day...helps with the bloat. Also if you drink a cup of warm water with lemon in it you'll get an added kick. Sometimes I even throw in some ginger. Really "primes the pump" for the day. I digest food better when I kick the day off with that elixir.0

Before I had children I'd gain 10lbs during my period....no joke. Ofcourse I wasnt ever on time. Now that I've had two children I gain 3 to 5lbs every period and I'm like clock work.0

I definitely gain when the monthly visitor arrives, but it usually varies. Some months it may only be 1 lb and other months it could be 5+ lbs.
Normally, it doesn't bother me, but it agitated the tar out of me today. Go figure that on the day I finish Level 1 of the 30 Day Shred and try to check in on my weight and measurements, the "visitor" decides to show up. So, between the bloating and weight gain, I have no clue. :grumble:0 -
Glad to have found this post :flowerforyou: eased my mind. I gained a couple of pound and Aunt Flo is the culprit, I'm cool with that0
-
Thank god for this because I have been loosing a pound a day and I started my period this morning and weighed myself and it shows me 3lbs heavier! I almost cried.0
-
Yes. I can always tell when it's coming 'cause I seem to bloat & gain a little weight, from 2-4 pounds it seems. But once it starts or ends, it disappears. Makes me dislike periods haha.0
-
I put on a lot of weight, as well. I don't even have to get on the scale to tell - my clothes get tighter and I feel like my face gets a little chubbier! So I'm not sure how much I put on but I would guess anywhere from 5-7 lbs at least. And like everyone else, a day or two afterwards the pounds drop off and I feel "normal" again!0
-
Me, too!!! I lost 8.2 pounds last week, and recently my weight has been creeping up by almost a pound a day...but I am expecting my TOM anyday now so I'm chalking it up to that. I expect to see a big drop afterwards. Another good reason not to rely on the # on the scale, but the look/feel of your body!0
-
Its weird but I actually lose a little bit of weight during my period..even though the bloating etc does happen
the weight loss is short lived though..as I normally go back to my normal weight a few days later0 -
No, I swear I feel so abnormal in this one area!
For the past six months since I joined MFP, I have noticed a pattern in my weight loss.
I lose 6-7 lb per month. 1 lb per week for 3 weeks and then 2-4 lb all at once in the 5 days leading up to my period. I don't go back up OR lose during the days I'm actually menstruating, but after my period it's 1 lb per week again.0 -
omg yes i hate it i gain 3 pounds0
-
I feel so much better reading posts,I started today n gained three ins from yesterday0
-
I weigh at least 3lbs. more the week BEFORE my period. And yes, continue to exercise even if it's just a brisk walk.0
-
I always end up bloated, I've somewhat gained the measurements I lost last weekend and this, roll on to the end of the period!0
-
I normally weigh heavier during my period and I FEEL IT, I am always bloated and nothing fits! With that being said the end of my period always feels amazing, I lose that pound or two I gained and then some! I would suggest not changing YOUR routine during your period. I have always found that no matter how crappy I feel or how crampy I am the second I start working out I instantly feel better. I will say it is hard getting to the gym when you dont feel rite though =[ keep up the good work and just keep truckin =]0
