omg yall HAVE to try vyvanse if you like that feeling. you are SO much more focused in work/school or whatevs it's like mageic!! and it doesn't make you hungry so you can control prfectly what you eat! i for exaple do track& field and i know i have to eat sth before i have practice. but it's more controlled so you don't just dive into food whenever you feel like it (: and you don't have to take it every day or anything you can take it whenever. but when you see the results after a while you'll be motivated to eat good without the meds (: the problem is that it's not really a special diet drug soo..you would have to find sbd to sell them to you. buut i'm telling you..it's absolute MAGIC!! not just for losing weight..you will be on top of ever single thing you do! focused like a lazer ;)

So I'm not usually a total prick.. but here goes. I suffer from ADD and ADHD - and I mean I SUFFER from it. Lost job, lost relationships, lost sense of self worth from being a pretty constant mess. And then I found an amazing dr who took a lot of time to find out about me, my history, my problems, my everything and he prescribed Vyvanse for me. Its been a life saver.

And once a month I drive 45 minutes to his office to have him put a paper prescription in my hands for this medication bc thanks to people like you- he cant call my pharmacy, he cant mail me a prescription, he cant let me just pick it up from a receptionist- he has to physically see me. I cant use the 90 day-at-a-shot mail order prescription, so my insurance company jacks up the price of the medication. My primary wont prescribe it to me, since its class II - I need to get it specifically from my specialist.

Because of people like you. Who abuse this stuff to lose weight- bc you are looking for a short cut. I really hope you never actually need a med like this for a mental disorder- bc its no f'ing treat, I can tell you from personal experience. But really, next time I need to leave work early to drive to have a prescription put into my hands bc of pill poppers and abusers- LIKE YOU- I'll be sure to think of you. And your awful spelling.

Thanks to people like you- those of us who really need it, have a VERY hard time getting it. Thanks to people like you, those of us who need this sort of thing, get treated like criminals when we need the meds that keep us from being dysfunctional members of society.

Get your *kitten* to a gym, eat a salad- do something to improve your health but for the love of all that's holy- stop abusing prescription drugs.
I have to agree with you on this one, because I got this huge lecture on how people abuse these types of drugs, and they have a high street value, etc....I looked her straight in the face and said I'm not looking to sell them, etc...I just want to feel more normal which they have done for me. But, like I said in my other post yes I was told it would lessen my appetite and help me lose weight and i at first wanted the quick fix, but it obviously doesn't work that way. But, anyways its also people like that who abuse it and fake the symptoms because my spouse has severe ADHD, and this type of medication worked wonders for him before, but since he doesn't have insurance he can't get it because it is so freaking expensive to buy. So I really hope this individual doesn't get hooked on it, or anything more serious like that.

Raise your hand if you've been losing weight due to doing speed a.k.a. diet pills.

If you are, tell your doctor.

    Your heart will thank you.

Not me most of the time with any of those diet pills you have to follow a sensible diet and exericse anyway you may loose few more lbs a week but they are not for me. Nothing against anyone who uses them but for me to many side effects. Slow and steady wins the race

It took me years and now many health issues to realize that the only way to manage is to just eat right and move. I do supplement with hcg but no diet pills.

Last year my blood pressure dropped so low as to be very dangerous, but I had to keep working. My doctor put me on Adipex (also a weight loss drug) to increase my blood pressure and energy and to reduce fatigue. I lost 12 lbs but my GOD is was not worth it. It made me super jittery and compulsive. Like I would be exhausted yet unable to stop doing ANYTHING with my hands. He said it was related to meth, hence the side effects. As soon as my contract ran out on that job I had to quit, claim disability, and go off that horrid medicine. The sad thing was, I would be telling people about how awful I felt and how I was never hungry and always jittery and they all wanted to try it. :(

Your right, but im on this pill to teach me how to eat better.. example Duromine stops me from being hungry, so when i do eat i am most likey to choose a healthier meal. im training my body to stop craving bread and pasta and not to eat it as often as i use too. Its just so hard, when all your life you didnt care what went in to your body and now finally im caring..

Once you're off the pill you're going to get all the same cravings. There's no shortcut to weight loss and a majority of the people on this site learned/have accomplished it the hard way. If you want to 'train' your body to do anything you have to do so on your own will and not with the help of pills

all the people that say oh once you stop taking the pills you are going to gain it all back. No you wont! I can take my pills once or twice a week to once or twice a month. Then stop taking it for however long. I only take mine when i am extremely hungry or when i go out.

I was put on phentremine. It worked for me before. The reason I put weight on after taking it (it took over 3 years to put on weight) was because I started just eating late and eating bad food. . .and not exercising. I did fine when I had gotten off of it. It did teach me how to be focused on when I am hungry, not just when it's a craving. I am taking it again, with exercising and eating better.

I tried regular over the counter pills before, starting when I was a senior in high school. One did help take off the weight, but it was only because it made me jittery and sick everytime I ate. I forgot the name of it. So of course I put the weight right back on after I stopped taking it. I've also tried hydroxicut and some others and all it did was make me dizzy and nothing else.

If anything makes you dizzy or sick to where you don't eat, don't take it. Might seem like common sense, but I know people other than me who have done it and thought that it really helped them lose the weight. That's not the way to lose.

Used them in the past. They work fantastically, only once you stop them, you gain it all back. Any and every drug you take has side effects. Most folks on here are losing weight so that they can go off of medications. Just saying.

Cutting back on carbs in a significant way will alleviate your cravings. I promise you!

I dunno, guys, everyone says 'diet pills are a crutch, once you stop using them, you gain all the weight back.' But diets (or 'lifestyle changes') often fail and result in the dieter gaining all the weight back.
While I don't think diet pills that just contain insane amounts of caffeine are any good, I think appetite suppressants can really be useful. FIRST OF ALL, when you get off the drug, you won't suddenly, helplessly revert to your old lifestyle. You will have gotten used to eating less, and eating healthily. When you're skinnier and used to eating less, your stomach shrinks and you get full sooner. As long as the person pays attention to when they feel full (and makes sure to eat healthily) he or she should continue to lose.
Also, in my own experience, when you cut out a type of unhealthy food and get used to not having it, when you DO have it again it tastes too rich or sugary. If you're used to having healthy foods, you'll (hopefully) continue to do so out of habit, whether your diet was initially aided by a pill or not.

Personally, I have used Adderall, but never for weight loss, and it was only a few times ever. (But dang, I'd love an RX.)
I also used Alli once, and it really helped me stay motivated. I think it was the psychological impact rather than the actual drug, but nonetheless I lost like thirty pounds (I looked quite skinny! AND THEN I WENT BACK TO COLLEGE and my roommate was making brownies and cookies all the time, and, and!).

Have it ever occurred to you why diet pills don't work? You will gain all that weight back as you have not learned the discipline to be more conscious about what you eat and how much of it, learn to count calories and leave the pills.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

So spend the time and learn nutrition...you won't regret it
love this!! and its very true!!

Has it ever occured to you that not everyone gains weight because of poor nutrition? I gained my weight becuase of 4 pregnancies that ended in c-section. I did research and learned all about nutrition. Stopped drinking sodas, sugar, fatting foods, exercising regularly. I have been overweight now for 10 years. I started taking the pills only after I learned about nutrition and exercise. The only reason I need the pills, is so I don't feel so hungry. I still have to resist the temptations of food. Just because you are not hungry does not mean you are not going to eat. I still crave soda and sugary food. I log on MFP everyday, log my food and my exercise. No, diet pills are not for the people that want to sit around all day, eat what they want and still lose weight. It's not going to happen, but just because you take diet pills does not mean you did not work any harder than everyone else. I have worked extremely hard. I sell baked goods for a living, at the moment. You can imagine how hard it has to be to not eat it, but I do it everyday. I fit in exercise everyday, even though I have 4 kids and am a full-time student. It is still hard everyday. Some people can do it without any extra help, but some of us just need that little extra push to get us where we need to be, and I don't see anything wrong with that. For everyone that keeps posting diet pills work, but when you get off of them you WILL gain all the weight back, are just ignorant. Really? You've talked with every person who has every taken diet pills? No. I know several people who have taken the pill and have not gained the weight back for years now. They can work, you just have to be willing to work too. You can't take the pills as a way to work miracles, but they can work if you use them as just another tool in your tool box on your weight loss journey.

I recently started to take duromine (phentermine) 30mg. My partner got a script for it and gave me some to try.
Wow. amazing energy, buzzing, I didn't feel hungry at all, very dry mouth and started drinking a lot of water.
I just wanted to go go go. Like being on speed. I guess it is speed kinda. I was 103kg (227lb).

5 days later I went to a doctor and asked him to prescribe me some, I was 98kg(216lb), 5 kg (11lb) drop in 5 days.
But I was getting really grumpy in the evenings, eating next to nothing, had dark circles under my eyes, grinding my teeth like crazy (something I often do when stressed but this was bad).

The same day I got my own prescription I found MFP while looking for an android app to record my weight each day. I started forcing myself to eat the 1200 calories and quickly put on a couple of kg. The "buzz" disappeared after a few days but it was still suppressing my appetite, no sweat to stay under 1200.

I have now stopped and haven't take one since xmas day. I took half a pack (15 tablets) all up.

I believe that now that I have MFP and tracking what I eat I don't really need them, for me the extra energy boost only lasted a few days, sure it helps suppress my appetite but I'm not gonna starve myself into losing weight. They are expensive ($120AU for a month supply), they will only prescribe 3 months in a row max, then what? I have to learn to do this on my own -_-

All in all I am glad I tried them because this is what led me to MFP, heh =)
It also got me under the 100kg mark (just!) but this was quite a milestone for me.

I've only lost 1kg ish after using this site for 20 days, but it's better than nothing and I know it's gona be a long slow road but at least it will sustainable for me as long as I have the willpower to stick with it.

Each to their own, what works for some people might not work for others it's not a one-size-fits-all, I wish everybody the best whichever road they chose to take, just posting my (rather short) experience with it =)
