What are your goals for next year?

Options
So, its about that time we all get our houses in order and set next years goals. When i first started getting fit it was 2 years ago, and my resoloution and only goal was to drop puppy fat. Now that im a bit more into it, and know a bit more, my goals are more ambitious. My goals this year are:

to run 2250 miles
To have intermediate strength lifts
More definition for my abs/legs
A sub 20 minute 5k

Im going to get all my goals! How about you?

My goal is to kick *kitten*. At everything.

I see an orthopedic surgeon/sports medicine doc on Thursday about my knee, so until then, I can't really do specific goals. In a perfect "oh your knee is fine, suck it up" world I would like to run a marathon.

I'd like to bench my bodyweight. I have 20 lbs to go.

Lose 5lb/mo til I hit goal. Get strong.
Become a runner, or at least a jogger
This is a fantasy actually- my family would drop dead of shock

I'm running my first full marathon in April and my goal is to finish in under 4 hours.
Run my first trail 1/2 marathon in the fall.
    Keep my weight below 108.
    Take up street in-line skating.
I'd also like to give boxing a chance. Not actually with someone else, but like a punching bag type of workout.

Wow, my goals seem way too humble to follow those above.
    I'd like to try yoga.

I wanna hear them! We are all at different stages so there's absolutely no need to feel bad or embarrassed!
Also, yoga is awesome. Pilates is much more fun, though!

    2012 Goals:
    - Compete in a crossfit competition (hosted by a gym, not games stuff)
    - Run my second marathon
    - Deadlift 150% of my bodyweight
    - String together 10 unassisted pull ups
    - Have visible abs (okay, totally vain, but I don't care)

For goals that I'm not sure if they are realistic and may not happen until 2013:
    - Successfully complete a muscle up on the free rings
    - Complete a handstand push up (can be against the wall)

Mine aren't too crazy compared to this past year.

    Break 20 mins in a 5K

    run my 2nd marathon

Run 1,000 miles (without having to scramble like mad at the end of december to get them all in like this year)

The trainer I intern with used to fight...he has all sorts of boxing workouts that I am desperate to try once my knee is better!

My kids can do handstand pushups against the wall and it pisses me off! Ha! The 5 year old does gymnastics so she is constantly doing handstands against the wall and I watched her the other day and she would do a head stand, push up to a hand stand, giggle hysterically, back to head stand, down to feet, then run off. I stood there in disbelief.

    In 2012 I want to...

...be the best dad I can be to both my 5 year old step son and my baby boy that's on the way.

...have a lot of fun outdoors. After hurting my ankle this past spring, I feel I really missed out on all the good weather.

By the end of 2012 I want to...

...be close to 200 pounds. My current goal weight is 190 but I'm not sure if I will be able to get all the way there with my other goals. I will be happy with anything under 225 if I can reach my other goals.

...bench press my highest body weight (350 pounds). Bench press has always been my weak spot, and it is VERY weak. I got to 250 in college with just a couple months of mediocre work, but I know with a full year of dedication I can do it.

...deadlift 2x body-weight. The beauty of this is that the more weight I lose the easier it will be. I currently rep at 315.

    ... have 19" biceps. Current 16" Max 18"

...do pull-ups. Any would be fantastic!

...run a 5k. I've done it before, and I can do it again.

I just joined in September and have never set goals in my life. I fear failure so much that I always made excuses as to why goal setting was useless. That has since changed very recently and very drastically! I only have two right now but for me they are humongus! #1 Run a 5K by the end of February, I just started the C25K program yesterday. #2 do "The Big Climb" on March 25th (it's 69 floors, 1,311 stairs!) I will obviously be adding to my goals once I prove to myself I can do those two to start with. And of course reach my goal weight!
    Peace! :flowerforyou:

These are some of my goals for 2012. I am sure I'll add more as I think of more things I want to accomplish and I will be keeping an eye on this post for more ideas.

    1. Reach my goal weight
    2. Run/walk 1,000 miles
    3. Start strength training
    4. Start hiking or some other outdoor activity :-)
    5. Run at least 3 5Ks
    6. Run a 5K in under 30 mins
