Solution: don't get on the scale. Start working for inches lost instead.

Easier said then done. I know. I am trying.

    How about this.

Take the scale and put it at the top of your closet out of sight. Go a whole two weeks without weighing. Just try it and see how you do.

^ You should try this even if you don't do the diet break or up the calories. If you aren't able to do this, you may have issues that take priority over your weight, and I don't say that with sarcasm.

And I see someone for that too...I don't have an ED, I have Disordered Eating. I know that. I fight with myself everyday to overcome this craziness. My husband is so supportive and patient but I know he must be screaming inside.
That is part of the reason I need to not cut stuff out and be normal. No Atkins, Ketosis etc...I want to STOP the madness , just be normal and lose those last lbs...just is a journey getting there.

I am trying t do that now. I am actually tempted to sell my scale (or freakin' give it away) if anyone wants it. It is just there to make me crazy!!

Try putting it away first. It's easy to give up a bad habit by eliminating it entirely. It's harder to learn to actually control it.

Good luck to you no matter what you do!

^ I see. Well I think it's great that you're getting help for this. Sounds like you're working on it already so you can disregard my comments. Your specialist will likely have better advice! Good luck with it!

I go both ways with the appetite suppression after working out thing. If I only do cardio, then I tend to be ravenous. If I lift weights like I did today during leg day, for whatever reason, I'm really not that hungry. It happens that way pretty consistently. I didn't believe dealing with appetite suppression would be a big deal until I started experiencing it. It's for reals, trust me.

I'm the opposite. Cardio takes my appetite away. Lifting makes me ravenous. Funny how different we all are.

Thanks everyone. I will hide the scale, keep talking to my psych and try to not focus so much on the little things...I have to look at the big picture.
    Keep supporting...I love it!

Muscle doesn't weigh more than fat. Weight = mass * gravitational acceleration or W=mg. Everyone is wrong, is the dead horse beaten yet?

    Now that's funny! lol!

You can do it! Remember that the scale is only ONE measurement out of MANY -- and not even a very important one. With your workout levels, you need A LOT MORE calories! I'm eating 2k+ consistently now -- in fact, some days closer to 3k -- and I have actually MAINTAINED my weight for the past 2 months (wasn't even doing that great the last couple of weeks with workouts -- too busy!) Your body wants to know you'll treat it right, so give it some love.

Also, pics to put my money (or, er, calories) where my mouth is. ;)

^This one was from earlier this summer (late September), 133ish lbs., ~28% BF.

^This one was from 2 weeks ago, 131ish lbs., ~24% BF.

Do you THINK I care that my scale has barely moved? HELL no! I'm pretty darn happy with the BF and body recomposition progress, thank you VERY much! Now go throw your scale out. :)

I ONLY weigh myself once a month at the gym, they also take my measurements. I refuse to be a slave to the scale, I'm just not going to do that to myself.... :noway:

Honestly it's so easy. I dropped my phone in the bath last night and since I'm currently not at home and can't contact my boyfriend (who is picking me up from the airport) I've been in the process of a massive panic attack all day. Even messaged him on FB to tell him to email me. (as of course I don't have his number. Why need numbers?) Of course I never thought to check if he had his mobile number on there! Crisis averted and I'm getting a cheap throw away phone tomorrow! (and thank God for insurance)

We're human, we all make mistakes. It's just learning from them :)
