Make up before the gym?

I'll admit I've tried it, but I have a VERY sweaty face and the makeup makes me feel like I'm sweating twice the amount.
I did, however, see a girl once who was wearing full eye makeup, false eyelashes included and I'll be honest, I laughed!0 -
I do wear makeup. I wear mascara and eyeliner and concealer with a bit of powder. I feel better about myself when I wear it. I can hide dark circles and blemishes and it makes me more confident. I have friends who wear none and some that wear more. It is your choice. Oh but I have never had my makeup cause a break out and would quit it if it did.0

I don't usually wear makeup to the gym (unless I had it on for work/school earlier and just didn't take it off) but occasionally if i have a huge zit I'll put some concealer on:laugh:
Same here0 -
Lip gloss always! I'm obsessed. :-)
Ladies, take it from a man, this is all you need !!!
Just the mere fact that you are sweating is sexy enough !!! Just my opinion.0 -
I did make up a couple times and I regretted it lol. I looked very funny afterwards.. Just like I hated dying my hair and going to the gym the next day. I'd sweat black down my face and it's hard to get off! I say do what you want! If you feel great putting the make up on even though you're in a dark room and will sweat it off.. then do it!
LOL! I do vampire red manic panic in my hair...and for days after I dye it, I sweat pink! LOL! The permanent black I use has never done that though?!0 -
I never wear makeup to the gym. You sweat, it runs than you end up looking kinda messy in front of those guys. I don't think guys at the gym are impressed with a girl who would wear makeup to work out. just my opinion.0

I go to the gym in make-up, but purely because i'm always going after work or school and I don't see the point in washing it off my face before working out. I don't wear a lot anyway ( a bit of powder, blusher, mascara and eyeliner) and i've never had a problem of what I do wear melting off. Each to their own! I wouldn't think terribly of someone if they choose to wear a full face of make up, we're all there for our own reasons and if yours includes wearing make up to make it more bearable then good for you! At least you're there!0

I don't wear make up when I'm training or going to the gym. I'm there to get my sweat on and that's horrible for your skin with the make up on. The guys that appreciate that are the ones that are worth it. The ones that aren't going to look at me because I have no make up on are proabably worth avoiding anyway. Plus all that exertion brings a natural glow to your body. LOL0

I guess I'm not getting the point of lip gloss? First off I find lip gloss to be gummy to begin with but I couldn't imagine what it must feel/look like on your lips after you've worked out at a heavy pace. Doesn't it get all chunky and gummy on your lips. The thought just makes me wanna hurl.
But to each his or her own.0 -
i dont because i know the sweat is going to roll the chemical in my eye and I will freak out! LOL! from a male perspective says he doesnt like it when women come into the gym with makeup on because it appears as if they are there to find a mate and NOT get healthy...BUT WHAT DOES HE KNOW0

I do it. Not foundation though because it's too heavy and I barely ever wear it, but I'll put on a little concealer and powder, and usually some mascara. I am young and still deal with acne that I'd rather cover up. And no, I don't feel ridiculous. Most people probably wouldn't even notice that I was actually even wearing make up.0

Okay- coming from my brother and hubby, they said no makeup! I say no makeup too. You are going there to workout not pickup guys. Plus, if they are not willing to hit on you without makeup they are not worth your time. A man needs to find a girl attractive with and without makeup...Your future hubby will see you without makeup sometime0

I put on lipstick, but that's only because I grew up with a Mom who said, "Put some lipstick on; you look dead!" my entire childhood. Now, I can't be without it or I feel weird.0

When I was single I wouldn't think of leaving my house without putting makeup on. My friends used to tease me and say that I'd put on lip gloss on just to take the garbage out. So I definitely had makeup on at the gym. And most times now I do too. I'm blonde with blonde eyelashes and eyebrows and super fair skinned....if I'm not wearing makeup people tend to ask me if I'm getting sick or if I'm tired :indifferent: . So as someone else said on here.....when I look better, I feel better!!0

I'll wear makeup unless I am going to a 5am class... Thats a little too early for this ole girl so I dont even care at that point what I look like.0

i always wear waterproof mascara, but i dont put makeup on justfor the gym. if i had it on already from work or whatever then ok, but i think i look more of a mess when im done than when i just have none on!0
-
I usually don't have make up on unless its on from coming after work or school. Do what you need to do to make yourself feel great! I don't usually leave the house without mascara on tho....:)0
-
I always do! When I look better, I feel better
YES! This is true!0 -
I don't go to a gym, but usually I put on lip gloss or lipstick and mascara before leaving the house. Not always mascara, but usually always lip gloss.0
-
I realize that after I workout I must shower again, but I still put on powder and the top lashes with mascara... maybe I'm silly0

Aw I'm the same.. always wear make up! I look better and it makes me feel better:) Also I go to the gym after work so I already have my make up on but I do apply mascara and eye liner (not foundation as it stays on my towel;-) when I work out at weekend just so I dont look washed up (I'm blonde and very fair too! )0 -
I never wear makeup when I work out............... but then again Im married and could care less about the cute boys there.
Exception being... if I go right after work and have makeup on- I dont specifically "take it off" first. I sweat it off in the first 30 minutes anyway.0 -
I don't wear makeup everyday, maybe only on a special occasion, so of course I do not put makeup on before I go to the gym I think it sounds stupid (and makeup running down my face probably wouldn't be too attractive) this might come off wrong but I think I look good enough naturally, so I don't feel the need to wear makeup.0

From a guy's perspective:
Don't put on full make-up before going to the gym. A little mascara or lip gloss is okay.
I realize you may be trying to look good and put forth what you feel is your best image, but seriously I'd rather see the ladies pounding it out at the gym de-makeup'd giving it there all, than to see them prancing around afraid to mess up their face.
If you are coming from work or its the evening or whatever than that is fine you still have your make-up on. But those at the gym before 8am with make-up, it just doesn't make sense does it?0 -
I"ve seen one woman not only put on make up but also fake lashes to work out. She was in my class and each time we had a water break she was checking herself out in the mirror.
I don't care what I look like when I work out. I had to stop wearing make up a couple of years ago for skin issues and it was difficult for someone who always wore it but now I've accepted it. When I used to wear it I always made sure it was off before I worked out so my pores could breathe.0 -
I do it, have done it and will probably always do it.....I just feel more confident and awake when I have a little makeup on. it's more of a state of mind and why wouldnt' you want to feel good about yourself before going to get a work out in! the last thing you want is to feel blah I say do what makes you happy, it's not ridiculous at all0
-
I put make up on to go to the gym for the sole purpose that I know it bugs the crap out of some people0

I had this conversation with my mid 20 yr old nephews who go to the gym all the time together. I work out at home, so I have no personal point to offer. But they asked me WHY they see girls "decked out in makeup" to work out. I said I have no idea, maybe they just like looking their best all the time. Both men felt it draws attention to you in a way where it gives the impression that you are trying to impress people rather than to be there to work hard. But hey, to each their own...and what ever makes you happy, why not... make up or no make up... as long as you are working out good for you!0
