Make up before the gym?

I put make up on to go to the gym for the sole purpose that I know it bugs the crap out of some people
LOL this seems a little silly to me... not judging you in any way but who would be bothered by you wearing makeup to the gym? I could care less if the woman working out next to me was wearing 6" pumps full makeup the whole nine yards.. It's not going to hinder my work out lol seems more counterproductive.0 -
the only make-up I always have on is my eye liner0

I am a make up junkie...but NOT at the gym. I work hard at the gym and sweat sweat sweat...I don't think it's good for my skin to have make up on while I'm sweating so much.0

I think it's silly, but it wouldn't annoy the crap outta me. You looking silly is your business.0 -
I definitely do not wear make up to the gym! I LOVE it all day long otherwise but absolutely cannot stand having gook on my face when I'm sweating. I put my hair up in a messy pony tail and just run on in. I think I look pretty cute being all natural! The only thing I truly care about is that my gym outfit matches and is comfortable. :P But when I'm out and about on a regular day and not lazy I definitely put the whole works on.0

Well thats the beauty I dont care if people think I look silly because I dont care what people think of me. I also love some of the crap other girls in the gym have tried to talk to me for wearing make up. It bugs them they have told me this,so I find it amusing to bugthem. Especially now that I know it does. It the little things that make life so enjoyable0 -

They probably have some insecurity issues maybe I just can't see myself being bothered by what other people choose to do so that's why I thought it was a bit silly but to each their own :drinker:0 -
I definitely love my makeup but when I used to go to the gym, (now I work out in my own home), I never wore makeup. Mainly because it can be really bad for your skin. Once you are sweating and it mixes with your foundation, powder, etc. it can clog your pores and make you break out.
I would suggest clear mascara and chapstick or lip gloss if you have one that's moisturizing. You'll want to be comfortable and be able to wipe the sweat off your face without worrying if your makeup is all cakey. When it comes down to it, it's about you feeling confident in yourself so if you must wear makeup, go for lighter formulations or even a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation.0 -

And I'll be honest, I dont care that you dont care. The fact that you say the only reason you do it is to annoy other girls is a little odd though dont you think? But hey as I said before, to each his or her own.0 -

And to clear this up I never said that you look silly I was referring to the idea being silly and counterproductive like my friend's bf he throws stuff around the house because he knows she's a neat freak just to mess with her but really he's just messing up the house in the process.0 -

Guilty as charged! I naturally have light brown hair and fair eyebrows. With my (dyed) black hair, unless I pencil them in, it looks like I have no eyebrows. Vanity gets the better of me there.0

Lol I was saying the people who get all hot and bothered about others wearing makeup have insecurity issues. It's ok if you don't feel right w/o your makeup if that's how you want to look (glad I'm not one of them as well though )0 -
I cannot think of anything more uncomfortable than makeup melting down my face while sweating. Ick.
I rarely wear makeup, period. No way would I wear it to the gym.0 -

Well its not really counter productive since I have to wash my face after even if I wasnt wearing make up. Hell if I dont wash my face the minute im done i break out like crazy, and that was before I wore make up to the gym. I wear make up all the time anyways0 -
OMG some of these responses are really funny--I just got back from the gym. I definitely work hard when I'm there, make up or not, and I don't think anyone can necessarily tell I have any on because it's so subtle. It's mostly for skin issues and I think my face was "glowing" from the workout and the make up didn't run. I am not there to pick someone up but if some guy started talking to me I don't want to look like a rat!
Good idea though to wash my face right after, I don't always do that. And I love the guys chiming in with their opinions lol :happy:0 -
I never wear make-up to the gym; but then, I'm not a big fan of make-up anyway and only wear it for professionally shot pictures. It makes my face itch, and with my allergies, any type of eye makeup is pointless. I'll just rub it off off when my eyes start itching. I couldn't imagine it sweating into my eyes!0
-
LOL, I'm guilty as charged. You have the right attitude. Look your best where ever you go... you never know who might catch your eye and if they'll return the favor!
My man thinks I look good without make-up, but I don't go NO WHERE's without it. It's about being my best and not looking like I just rolled out of bed. Rediculous to many, but not to me. I take make-up very seriously. And I know people are always looking at me at the gym. I'm one of the only *****es who dares to lift heavy. If I'mma be the center of attention without even trying, then you damn right, I'mma look good while I do's it. LOL
This about sums it up0 -
I don't actually PUT makeup on for the gym, but if I go after work, I still have it on from the day.0
-
I don't put on make-up for the gym, but if I know I'm going later or after work, I use waterproof mascara and eyeliner. That five minutes I don't have to spend taking it off can make he difference between me going or sitting irretrievably on the sofa!0
-
I never wear make up to the gym. That's just calling for a clown disaster to happen.0
-
I don't go to a gym yet but I can totally see myself doing this. You're not alone lol... I'm kind of obsessive about it. I can't leave the house with out at least putting on foundation and eyebrow pencil (I dye my hair dark and my eyebrows are a very light blonde so I need those or I look really weird!)0
-
Tinted moisturizer, waterproof mascara, and tinted chapstick... enough to look put together and still be able to rock it at the gym without looking like a melted clown face.
No, you do not have to look frumpy when you work out --
besides -- checking out cute guys working out is one of the plus+ of gym memberships IMO0 -
Honestly? I do wear make-up when I workout. But most of the time I'm coming right from work of working out at the end of the day, so I'm already wearing make-up. If I do go to a morning class, I do put on concealer just to hide my blemishes. I know I'm sweating like crazy and it's not like anyone REALLY cares how my face looks, but to me it counts. I'd rather not look like a total mess in public.
However, I wouldn't ever purposefully wear an entire face of make-up to a workout - that's just a waste of my money in my cosmetics. There are women in my Zumba classes that come in all made-up like we're being filmed or something. Gotta laugh at those ladies.
Still, I see nothing wrong with just wanting to look a bit more put together when you work out. Just not put together for a night on the town.0 -
If you can keep foundation on you're not sweating enough. I forgot I had tinted moisturiser on last night and was dripping orange and left a life mask on the towel. At least it meant my fellow treadmill users gave me plenty of personal space. :ohwell:0
-
Makeup or no makeup, I have never looked "frumpy" or "a total mess."
But nice to know so many people think a woman without makeup looks like those things.0 -
I always go to the gym on my lunch hour or after work so yes - always made up from my day. I sweat at the gym a LOT.
There aren't streaks of make up running down my face because I don't wear a ton anyway. I shower after and re-apply make up.
If I go 1st thing in the am (which is almost never) then I wouldn't.
Maybe people like myself are too busy running around and fitting in a workout to wash off all their make up before the gym, Zumba class, whatever. If people think I made myself up just to go to the gym, they are mistaken and quite frankly, I don't care much what anyone thinks. I'm there to work out - make up or no make up.0 -
Saw this, and had to share0

I don't ever wear much makeup: I do my eyebrows, and use one product for my lips and cheeks. I apply this small amount of makeup before going out anywhere, including the gym. I do not think it's a good idea to wear foundation before exercising, especially if you have skin problems.0
