Happy Monday, Mommies!

I only have a second & I just wanted to start the thread!

Glad you made it home safe, Stacy!

Have a good week with Andrew on vacation, Beth!

Hope everyone is on the mend, Marla!

Good job getting your workout in, Tazzy!

Thanks for the shout-out, Writer!

Since I saw my goal weight on Thursday, I haven't seen it since. I'm holding water like a sponge & the muscle soreness from my trainer session on Friday isn't helping things either. Ugh. I'll get there again. Just have to keep on pushing through!

Off to spinning shortly! Wish me luck! I've never done it before! Eek!

Posting quickly so I can keep this in "My Topics". Thought I didn't have time for the gym today, but an appointment canceled, so I'm squeezing it in between everything else. Then off and running to volunteer at my daughter's class, a little more work/laundry, homework with kids, then bible teaching tonight. (Exhaling long breath).

To all and everyone, have a happy Monday. Sorry I can't post separately. Maybe tomorrow. But I hope your weeks start okay and everyone is on or hanging on or running along side the health wagon.

    Talk to you soon.

    Morning Mommies.

I started Harley on baby carrots the other day. One day she ate then :drinker: The 2nd she blew raspberries with mouthsful of them. :grumble: Today she just pushed them out with her tongue. I heard that it takes something like 7 or 9 times of trying something new before babies like it so we'll keep trying.

Well, yes and no-- some things are so good they like 'em right away-- bananas, applesauce, for example. Other things like green beans or squash with not much natural flavor, mine never learend to really "like." They just tolerated it.

Here's something I never understood, though-- "they" say, you know, the famous, mysterious "THEY", that we shouldn't salt and/or sugar the food so the baby develops a taste for the "natural" food, so they can enjoy it like that. Yeah, okay....so, for the rest of my life my kid's gonna eat oatmeal with no flavor? Hogwash.

I made them baby oatmeal with a dash of salt and brown sugar and they ate it up. I never altered the fruits and veggies from the jars, but would often take the "stage three dinners" out of the jar and salt 'em up a bit-- those things are hideous. What person wants to feed these children this crap with no taste?

    Yeah, that's me....I'm a rebel.

Heading to a much needed shower-- later!

Lori-Adi is the same way with almost everything we feed her. One time she loves it, the next time she spits it out and we've been giving her baby food for 2 months now. Carrots, prunes, green beans and peas are definately a hit and miss thing. One time there is no proof she ate them, the next time there is no way she got any in her mouth!!

mommachg-nice to see you again. I have a lot of " i don't care" days, but I'm finding that even on those day I make better choices by habit. And only gaining 2 lbs on vacation is really good, I gained more that than over Thanksgiving weekend

It's another lovely Monday here. Dre seems to have a spring cold and Adara is going thru "daddy held me all weekend" withdrawls. I feel like I should do something productive today, but I probably wont  I'll get my workout in and shower and that will be as productive as I'm gonna get.
    Have a great day

I've given her pieces of soft carrots from my noodle soup and she loves it. It's light soup but the carrots are still saltier than baby food. Maybe she tried the baby food carrots and thought "Are you kidding me? Where's the flavor?!" I also heard that "they" say to start with veggies because if you start with fruit they won't like the not-sweet veggies.

Happy Monday everyone! I'm glad to see I am not the only one struggling in "I don't care mode!" This is what always happens to me...I started here two weeks ago, have lost 5 pounds and have lost inches on my waist and hips...but I just want to eat bad food now and LOTS of it! I also know that from here on, the weight does not come off quickly. I've noticed a few others of you are down to less than 10 lbs. left to lose. How do you stay with the program?

I read something that said breast fed babies should be given fruit first because they are already used to the "sweet" flavor of breast milk. Formula babies should be given veggies first because the sweetness of fruit maybe be too much for them at first. I think that whatever works for your baby and you that's what you should do

I stick with the program because I'm not where I want to be yet. The ticker may say that I have 10 lbs left but my body says I still have a lot of fat and this is NOT what I want to look like. My motivation...looking in the mirror. Yes I've come a long way and I'm proud of my accomplishments but I'm not done.

My "binge" eating has definately changed. Instead of eating a bunch of CRAP I eat a bunch of semi healthy food....still more than I should eat calorie wise but less than what I was eating. I eat sugar free jello pudding, or Special k crackers with laughing cow cheese, pirate's booty popcorn, and on a really bad day a chocolate bar. I've found "desserts" that I love that are lower in calories (thank goodness for HG) but still taste great. Remember its not about eating for the moment, it about eating for a lifetime.

loree- re: fruits and veggies. don't sweat this stuff. my kids ate lots of the jars and loved them and now will hardly touch any. i just look at it as keep trying, now and forever and hopefully something will stick some day.
btw, my #2 loved all orange foods (carrots, squash, peaches) to the point where from ages 6m + she had a perma-orange nose! and now she won't even eat corn with butter and salt b/c ONE time she threw it up when she had a virus. go figure!
i've also learned that there is never a time that all 5 of us like the same meal. so i make what i like, have the kids keep trying a little bit every time, and just move on. it's just not worth the aggravation to get so invested in their likes/dislikes.
i'm not saying to give up, just don't make yourself nutty.

marla--i LOVE plain oatmeal, could eat lots and lots (it's a comfort food for me).

really really going to make the lunch and get us outta here! have a great day mommies! :smooched: (blowing kisses)

happy monday all I feel stressed hubby went off to work this morning 330 am and came home again at 430am turns out this is yet another rest week as last week was owed holidays and overtime that means he is off until next monday aaarrrrgggghhhhh I thought I was having a nightmare this morning he will have been off for 4 weeks next week.

One thing though we talked over the weekend and he phoned the hospital this morning and cancelled his vasectomy appointment decided he really does want another baby boy (a girl would be fine also) and is worried that if he got the vasectomy in apr and we tried now as he originally wanted I could be pregnant when we go on holiday and agreed that it would be better to maybe start trying when we are on holiday and from that point on which suits me better just hope I am not preg already as it is quite possible it was my fertile window at the weekend I wish men would actually think I would have waited 2 months but it was the vas app that pushed me to try earlier now he has cancelled that and there is no time limit just let it happen whenever oh well just have to wait and see.

Didnt feel great this morning so didnt get shred done will do tomorrow did however go for a 2 hour hike with the dog. Tomorrow will go jogging and then do shred then get the car washed and hoovered. Hubby has to go into work for a meeting at 11 so will get an hours peace and quiet with my girls.

Got dig deep at the moment for motivation I think it is because he is off work it kinda of gets like vacation mode and a bit relaxed but gotta keep kicking *kitten* I still want to lose at least 14lbs before my vacation but 18 would be better plus I want to get down so that I dont still have to face all this after having another baby whenever that happens I hope to keep on top of the weight gain and will breastfeed to try and lose the weight afterwards and I will cont to watch my weight and exercise instead of letting myself go like I did with the other 3 gaining at least 40 lbs each time and not quite losing all of it.

    Have a great monday everybody.

"the gym" and "fun" aren't friends yet. I'm getting there, though. I've never been a gym-goer so I'm finding my niche. Spinning was today...I'm not so sure that's where I belong. Thank you!

hehehe Welcome to the world of baby food. I make my own baby food so I spice things up a bit sometimes. Tabitha has been by FAR our pickiest eater, though. She doesn't even like bananas. She LOVES meatloaf muffins...no joke, but get a banana in front of her fact & she'll grab it & throw it on the floor. It's awesome. :indifferent: Good luck & wear a rain coat!

I look at how far I've come & how GOOD I feel about it. I've been known to sit down with pencil & paper & write down my goals & WHY they are my goals this way they become "real", kwim? Just keep moving forward. You'll thank yourself for it later! Sure, it is hard, but nothing worth doing is easy!

since i come here the most, i was wondering if y'all want to post up your real name (first only), city or state, and # kids
i know i could find some of it by clicking each person, but... plus i'm not a facebook kinda gal and real names are more "real" than screen names for me.
if you're interested in sharing the info, send it on.

    I am Stacey, age 37, sahm to 3--#1 is 8.5 y.o. girl; #2 is 4.75 y.o. girl, #3 is 2 y.o. boy
We live in Las Vegas (tho used to live in Salt Lake City, and Denver, and grew up in the suburbs of Chgo).

3BB--you're so great at keeping up with all the parts of the thread! And the Y was pretty good--workout cut short b/c baby pooped. but that's ok. that stuff doesn't bug me anymore.
1 more hour till nap's over and we get #2. then it's the "how do i make it to bedtime part of the day." anyone else feel like that??
    later chicas--

LOL I'm a FB addict, so I know what you mean, Stacy! and thanks. :blushing: I try to keep up with the posts b/c that way it feels more like a "community" to me than an "unloading zone", kwim? If you're gonna listen to me b!tch once in awhile, I like to think that I can give you some attention when you need it, too! :drinker:

Sara, age 26, SAHM to Z (boy, 3.5 yrs), M (boy, 2 yrs), T (girl, 11 months), we live in Ohio & we both live within 7 miles of where each of us grew up. It is a blessing & a curse in the same breath.

Also, I'm LIVING the "how do I make it to bedtime" part of the day right now. 2 hours & counting! Hubby's working late so the kids are clawing at the windows. It is like they can sense when I'm on my own a little longer than normal!
