Little trivia for you.. the lady who played nurse chapel on Star Trek eventually became Gene Rodenberry's wife. Its also her voice you hear when the enterprise computer talks in the original star trek and Star Trek the Next Generation.

I thought it was Troy's mom that was the voice of the computer in TNG
  • I've never watched either one...I'm just surfing the thread for hot nerds :D
  • I love both Star wars and Star Trek, but Firefly is hands down my favorite and Serenity is such a great movie. Okay now I want to do a firefly marathon this weekend

    I LOVE both.

Star Trek probably would win the vote for me except they lost points with Voyager. What an awful series.

I like them both, but given the choice to only see one, it would be Star Trek. I've watched all Star Wars movies at least once, but I've seen all the Star Trek movies several times.

Star Trek, without a doubt. Star Wars is okay but the original Star Trek series had more depth and better writing. I never got that much into the other Star Trek series.

Glad I don't have to choose cause I love them both but then again I am also that guy who loves Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Farscape & Firefly

But you are going to say I copped out so I will use just the movies and go like this:
    1) Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
    2) Star Wars: A New Hope
    3) Star Trek: 2 - The Wrath of Khan
    4) Star Trek: First Contact
    5) Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
    6) Star Trek: 11
    7) Star Trek: 6 - The Undiscovered Country
    8) Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
    9) Star Trek: 3 - The Search for Spock
    10) Star Trek: 4- The Voyage Home
    11) Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
    12) Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
    13) Star Trek: Generations
    14) Star Trek: Nemesis
    15) Star Trek: The Motion Picture
    16) Star Trek: Insurrection
    17) Star Trek: 5 - The One that SUCKED!!! (AKA The Final Frontier)

    Also loved Firefly and Serenity

Star Wars by osmosis....i married a Star Wars geek and we walked into our wedding reception to the Imperial March (it was totally awesome)

Only good think about Star Trek was Patrick Stewart.

George Lucas should leave the original 3 movies episodes IV,V,VI alone and quit trying to make it better with C.G.I. effects.
I was a big fan of the original Star Trek series growing up but didn't care too much for the "Next Generation" or the other spinoffs.
I did enjoy the Star Trek "Reboot."

Star Wars pre-quel except for episode I in my opinion, lacked the dynamic of characters that made the first 3 movies so good.

Such a fun topic to talk about and get everyones opinion. Takes your mind off of counting calories!!

With dogs named Yoda and Wookiee, I think you know on which side of the argument I fall. :-)

As a Sci-Fi geek, this is a tough question. I would have to go with Star Trek due to a more in depth universe and a much larger story arc and lines. and the Skywalksers men are kinda of whiners.

(I know this is odd because of my online persona)

“What’s needed today, now, more than ever, is ‘Star Peace’ for there is an ominous, mutual threat to all science fiction. It’s called ‘Twilight’. And it is really, really bad...Let’s us all just live and let live – long and prosperously. And, may the force be with you always!"

I never thought I would be a Star Trek fan. That is until the husband started watching DS9 and I caught a few episodes with him. It got me hooked and so now I'm watching the entire series but I'm not very far. I'm in the middle of season 2. The sad part is that I only started watching the series a week ago. I typically get in 2 - 3 episodes a day during the week and at least 6 episodes on Saturday and Sunday!

My official answer: both (well Star Wars and DS9 at least!)

    We must take a stand against injustice;
We must speak out against oppression and tyranny.
Let your voice be heard for the truth.
Say it with me, you guardians of all that is decent and right:
    HAN SHOT FIRST!

before Lucas effed with it, it was Star Wars. I adore them both though. so i can only say that my heart belongs to

    Stargate: SG-1.
