Atlast, I've been waiting ages for a this post. There are so many good bands that are hidden from the mainstream it is impossible to name them all. Can't understand why society enjoys the talentless waste of Rap and R&B.
There's; A Day To Remember, Abacinate, Annotations Of An Autopsy, Abigail Williams, Atreyu, The Acacia Strain, Architects, Across Five Aprils, As Blood Runs Black, After The Burial, August Burns Red, As I Lay Dying, Alesana, Alexisonfire, Asking Alexandria, All Shall Perish, All That Rermains and Avenged Sevenfold... And thats just the ones beginning with A!!!!!!
Saw AILD with August Burns Red and Evergreen Terrace a few years ago. Saw them again with War of Ages and Demon Hunter last year or the year before. Does Mayhem Fest come to where you are? It'll be great to see them (AILD) sharing a stage with Slayer, Slipknot, and Anthrax. Devil Wears Prada and Whitechapel are also on the bill.
i heard motorhead will be the headliner at mayhem this year...anyone else heard this?0 -
Todd Evans used to be Beefcake for GWAR and he now has Mobile Deathcamp they are a good metal band.
Todd's great! Got to know him when he was in GWAR. He's a big Troma fan. We got to know each other over a mutual interest in trashy movies.0 -

I love Todd. We get to hang out every time he's in town and I harass him to come back to Seattle often. I know the lyrics to all his songs and they're working on Album #2 he is a huge Troma fan0 -

Yes! I've always said I like my music to scream so I don't have to! I love more dark/goth metal bands however.0
-
i listen to pretty much everything from Atreyu to Zepplin lol
Same here. BF is all about the death metal but I don't like the screaming. I could handle more of the scremo type stuff that has singing as well such as Between the Buried and Me. I LOVE Iggy and I love older Metal influnces such as Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, The Runaways...
Back in the day I was all about Underoath!0 -
It's all in my name0

Sonisphere the past 2 years, OMFG, best time ever! But metal aside, NOFX, 'Nuff said!
I luckily found myself a trainer at the gym with as many tattoos as me so didn''t need to explain, we just compare!

Thanks for the hint Los Gatos Locos, they're fun. I'm a huge rockabilly fan, literally. Anyway, the Reverend Horton Heat will always be my favorite band but it's always fun to find something new.0

VOLBEAT!!! Check 'em out if you don't know them already. They pretty much span every music style in the subject line of this topic.
There is no better music to workout to than metal. Screw a workout partner, you need a kick to finish that last rep, Pantera will get you there. Having a hard time pushing through the last five minutes of your cardio? Slayer will fire you up. Exhausted and don't wanna start your next set? Lamb of God will get your adrenaline flowing.
Metal's been in my life for more than 25 years now. My friends listened to Thriller, I listened to the Blizzard of OZZ.
I saw Metallica live while Cliff Burton was still alive. I saw Pantera while they were still Cowboys from Hell.
Here's hoping I'm still throwing up the Devil Horns in another 25 years.0 -
Yessssssssss! I am a big punk and rockabilly fan. Before I moved away from my big beloved city, I organized punk shows, awards shows for metal and punk bands and went to numerous rockabilly events. I was a main photographer for the local bands in the city. I was sponsored by Jager, steamwhistle and white owl whiskey. Miss that life. Now I live in an area completely devoid of it or anyone like me. I constantly get called out for having dark hair and makeup. Merp. I am mostly into local stuff but as soon as you mentioned Gwar and Sonata Arctica my heart grew three times =D0

Well, what an interesting thread at a fitness website.
Long time Metal fan here too... Bass Player with primary influences, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and yes, throw in some Rush Bass stylings. What a pleasure to see so many Metal fans here !!
I saw GWAR back in the early 90's...BEST 14 bucks I ever spent! AWESOME Show !!
As well, to other fellow dudes on here -> great to see I am not the only guy that KNOWS he needs to shed some weight. Kind of gives me a little more inspriration. The 'Losing Weight' advertisement community seems to focus on women only for the most part but hey, carrying around that extra 60 lbs will kill us men too....
Carry On... :-)0 -
