I met Steve from Blue's Clues.
OMG! I'm such a dork, but I would love to meet Steve! LOL!
I had an uncle that was good friends with Mel Gibson (and his parents) back when he was still married to first wife and hadn't gone bat-*kitten* crazy. Anyway, he made an appearance at my uncle's church for Mass and I got to meet him and one of his older daughters. Who by the way was kind of a *****, but I think she was just being guarded. I assume that's something you have to do when you're the offspring of someone that famous.
I grew up in a really small town in TX so not really a lot of chances to meet famous people.
I met Steve in Denton, Texas. It was after he left the show and he was touring to promote his album. It was a really tiny bar and he was just standing there so I walked up to him and started talking to him. He is very short, very handsome and was very nice. And contrary to what you may hear about why he wore long sleeves, he was NOT covered in tattoos.0 -
Met Boomer too and got to do some marketing work for him. Great guy!0

Orlando Bloom. He was in KY for the premier of Elizabethtown. I have his autograph. It's on a purse. On my counter. Though I don't even like him. I think it's about time I get on eBay. Though I don't think as many girls are falling over him as much as they did a few years ago.0

Lunch with Senator Kent Conrad from North Dakota. Dinner with Dan Marino former quarterback of the Miami Dolphins. Spent the afternoon with Richard Petty, former NASCAR driver. Having run a large indie record store in Southern California for many years I have met quite a few well known people, mostly musicians but also some actors and famous music fans from all walks of life. Not bragging, just a simple consequence of my profession and location.
I'm going to pare it down to a few of my favorite encounters with "famous" people.
1. Nick Cave (and most of the Bad Seeds)- I am a big fan to begin with but it was pretty special because he was flirty, bummed smokes from me and made me drinks from the backstage bar while we talked.
2. Curtis Armstrong (better known as "Booger" from Revenge of the Nerds). Booger! He was shy and sweet and had great taste in music.
3. Maureen "Mo" Tucker. Drummer for the Velvet Underground and a person musical hero of mine.
4. Angela Davis. Not through the store, she was speaking at my college and a professor invited me to meet her.
5. Nirvana. Probably the most famous people (other than TV personality chance encounters in L.A.) I met at the store. They honored an agreement to do an in-store AFTER they made it big with Nevermind. They didn't need to, it was a madhouse and they were really cool to follow through.
6. Rob Halford. He had a vacation home near my neighborhood and was EVERYWHERE with his boyfriend. It became such a common thing to see him it was like,"Oh, there's Rob again." Which is kind of surreal if you're a geeky music freak.
I could go on but it makes me feel like an *kitten*. Trust me, if you work anywhere in the music industry anywhere near L.A. famous people are just part of the job. It's like any other person; cool and kind of fun if they are nice or aggravating if they are snotty and entitled.
It was fun sharing!0 -

This was years ago in New York City, when anyone could get into the Twin Towers, no security checks. We were headed up to dine at Windows to the World. Lovely Sunday brunch, quiet and romantic. On the way down in the elevator, my husband and I got separated by 50 or so Japanese tourists. I'm one one side of the elevator watching Hubby freak out on the other side. Apparently, he was lipping to me that I was standing right next to Karim Abdul Jabbar. I came up to about his navel. And so who was with Mr. Jabbar? Why look, it's Stephen King. My hubby tried to get Karim's autograph, but he refused. Stephen King said, I'll give you my autograph," but my Hubby turned him down.0

Name a living country singer and I've most likely met them.
I've met a few athletes as well. Don (Donnie Baseball) Mattingly used to help me with my physical therapy when it was off season for the Yankees.
Tonight, Cortland Finnegan of the Tennessee Titans came into work and I talked to him for a bit.0 -
Ludacris last year. Before that we got to meet Jess Harnell a very famous voice actor (he was Waco Warner and is in everything! plus a awesome band named Rock Sugar) and the rest of his band mates. We also met Buckcherry. Ewwww. Uh.. there should be more but I am drawing a blank.
FYI.. Google Rock Sugar. You will thank me later.0 -
My brother in law is married to Scott Speedman's sister. been with my husband for 8yrs and i still haven't met him lol.0

Not sure how many metal heads are here But Denace the Menace from Macabre and I have a running joke about following each other. He and I run into each other in the most random of places and after the first couple times of meeting up with him, he came up to me the last and started a conversation. It is always great when musicians are down to earth with the fans.0

I met Suze Orman at a book signing. She was awesome!0

Last year I was at a casino in Edmonton and went into the gift shop to get some gum ( I was the next in line at the till ) and all of a sudden a bunch of security guys came in with a big black guy, and there were a bunch of people outside of the store taking pictures with their phones and yelling n stuff and I was kinda like WTF? Do I got to leave??? There was only one other guy in the store with me beside the security guys and this black guy and he was effin TALL.. Anyways.. I just kinda play it cool I just want my gum and GTF out of there and back to my poker table. So this big tall guy gets some stuff around the store and BUDS right in front of me at the till and I'm only 5'2 and this guys is a zillion feet tall and huge with security and fans so ya im probally not gonna say anything but I'm pissed off on the "inside" I get a better look and i was like HEY I know HIM! Im a HUGE Baseball fan ... but*sigh* It was only Dennis Rodman. So Iong story short a few people were asking after me what it was like to be so close to him n stuff and I didn't think it was that big of a deal because it was #1 only Basketball ( no disrespect to basketball fans ) #2 HE JUST BUDDED IN LINE Without even acknowledging my short presence. He got all his sh** on the house anyway so I didn't have to wait long to get my gum.0

I am from Cali and used to work in the entertainment industry so lots of celebrities. I interned on a soap opera so got soap stars, worked at a MAJOR talent agency for four years so met most the big names (but not like they would know me or we socialized). After working in mainstream, I worked in adult so then I met tons of porn stars. lol
Now I'm a massage therapist and have worked on some semi famous people, but nothing too exciting. They are funner to see in public just out and about then for your profession. They are usually just running errands and doing the same stuff we all do so they aren't that noticeable (unless TMZ is following them) lol I'm sure people pass them all the time and not notice. They look famous when they are doing all the appearances and TRYING to be seen...hot clubs, restaurants, etc.0 -
Not anyone famous, but somebody who went to art school with John Lennon and Stuart Sutcliffe. She told us about meeting and knowing them all, John and Stuart mostly, but also Paul (who her husband had been friends with growing up), and even George once. It was so cool.0

I know little to nothing about the Backstreet Boys. I knew Kevin was no longer with the group, but I had no idea that there weren't replacements for him or any other member. Not my genre of music by a long shot.
Yes, I went to school with Kevin, but I graduated a year before he did.I went to high school with one of the original members of the Backstreet Boys.
They're all original members. Just because Kevin left doesn't make any of them any less "original" And because of your age, I'm going to assume you went to school with Kevin?0 -
trust me. i was star struck and thought i was going to die! lol0
