In first grade. We were best buddies as kids and then went to different high schools after spending 8 years together through our private school.

Found each other again on Facebook 15 years later.

He's still one of my best friends even with that large gap in time.

We met at a club back home in WA. He's a military man and I met him through some other military men my girlfriend and I had met the night before. I used him to keep a previous fling from bothering me and after that we were inseperable. We've been together over 6 years now, married 4. I couldn't be happier and I love the military life.
  • I met my bf 2 years ago from a POF (plenty of fish) date!! he was the 1st date I'd ever gone on from online....he had a few bad apples to go through before he met me :P !
We went out for a couple beers and have been inseperable ever since!

I met my girlfriend in 2007 at a place we were both working at the time. She was a sales rep and I was a sales assistant. We started off as friends and it grew into more.. we have been together 'offically' for 3 years in June. :)

We met in the backseat of my friend's boyfriend's car. We were all taking a ride to the Indian reservation, and my friend thought it would be "cute" to set us up. When we picked him up, he was only half dressed, putting his belt on, no socks, shoes untied and long gorgeous hair in a messy ponytail. I thought he was a slob haha and resisted him for about a month. His natural charm started to wear me down, and I'm so glad I decided to jump in, because he is my perfect match in every way.

We have been together for 7 years, living together for 6, and getting married this September. We are the proud parents of three awesome kittys :-)

His best friend is married to my best friend :)

He ummm also dated another friend of mine. 6 months after they broke up we just clicked into something really good. She has completely erased us both from her life which is sad, but 6 years later we've been living together 2 years and we're still going strong!

I'm just awaiting him giving me a pretty rock to seal the deal....

    I LOVE these stories!

I was hanging out at a friend's house one summer night, idly doing online research and questioning random people for an article I was writing. My friend and I had planned to go to karaoke, but were too lazy and not really in the mood when the time came. One guy I talked to said that the story idea was too cliched. (He was right--it never did get published.) We ended up talking for a long time that night and I gave him my regular messenger name because we got along so well.

We talked pretty much daily for the next month. I didn't believe in online dating AND he was younger than me, so when he asked if I wanted to "go out," I said no. (He lived like 12 hours away from me and I had a combined trip planned for work and family holiday stuff wherein I had to drive from South Carolina to Las Vegas a few months after I met him, so I didn't want to drive all the way to New Hampshire to meet some random guy.)

Eventually I did say, "Sure, we can go out!" but in all honestly, I didn't see it going anywhere. (In large part, I was negative about it because I'm so overweight and totally nerdy and he is so fit and not as into reading/writing/photography like me.) I just really liked him and loved talking to him.

On my way back from Vegas at the end of December of that year, I decided for sure that I was going to come meet him. I drove straight from visiting my Dad in Virginia to my then-boyfriend's house in New Hampshire. I got there just in time to celebrate New Year's Eve together.

We officially moved in together eight days later. We got married eleven days later. We've been married for a little over a year and I'm so grateful that the night I decided to do research/interviews, my friend and I didn't end up going to karaoke like we'd planned.

I love sharing this!!!! When I was going into the 7th grade my family moved, and I immediately went running down to the ball field when we arrived at our new home, with my glove in tow, because there were a bunch of kids down playing on the field. As I got down there, I noticed that there was one man, who was kind of like a coach to all the boys. I asked if I could play and he said, "Yes." Little did I know that before I arrived in this town, "Girls did not play ball with the guys. EVER!!" After that I became a regular that always played with the guys. I had the WORST CRUSH on the older man. You see, he was 29 years old to my 13 years. He was amazing with all the kids from town. Always bought equipment for the kids to use, always trucked them all over the place to play games against other teams and so on. So, as I grew up and began high school, we still all remained friends and played ball together. All this time I secretly crushed on him. When my senior year rolled around, he one day out of the blue, stopped talking to me. I was heart broken. I had no idea what I had done wrong and when I asked him, his response was, "Sometimes a man has to do, what a man has to do." We had no contact at all my senior year, which was very hard because we lived in the same small little town. I went to college and we began writing letters to each other and this made me very happy. Although we never spoke about what had happened. Well, to make a long story short, I ended up getting pregnant at college and had to drop out. I asked him to be my daughters God Father, which he agreed to wholeheartedly. Because he was her God Father, we began going down to his house so he could build a relationship with her. Well, low and behold, we started to talk about things and the reason he said that he stopped talking to me when I was in high school was because he had feelings for me that he felt he should not have because of his age. Very honorable young man he was. We dated for a little over a year, got engaged, then got married. Oh and by the way, he adopted my daughter and we had another child together. He is my best friend forever and for always.

I met my husband salsa dancing. He kept asking me to dance. He annoyed me because he wouldn't stop asking: "Are you married? Do you have kids? Do you have a boyfriend?" etc. When I was heading towards the door, he stopped me and asked, "Are you leaving?" I said, "Yes. It is Thursday and I have to work tomorrow morning." Then he asked "Where do you live?" I thought "STALKER ALERT!" and I only replied with the name of the city. He replied, "I live there too!" and proceeded to recite his entire street address.

I said, "OMG! You are my downstairs neighbor!" He replied, "OH! You are that noisy lady upstairs! BOOM BOOM BOOM!" (I was in the middle of a remodeling project in my condo.) I told him, "Well, you don't have to put up with me much longer because I just bought a house today." He replied, "I am very handy. I know how to do electrical and plumbing. Do you need any help with your new house?" I replied, "No. I'm pretty handy myself." Then he said, "My roommates and I are very strong guys, do you need help moving any large furniture?" I was thinking of my big sofa up in my 2nd story condo, so I replied, "SURE! Here is my business card! Give me a call this weekend!"

Long story short: he called me that weekend; he helped me move the big cat hair covered sofa down two flights of stairs; he helped me sand the floors and paint before I moved in; he has helped me with many remodeling projects; we still go out salsa dancing together; we've been together 8.5 years and have a beautiful 5 year old daughter.

My hubby and I met online.

I had gotten out of a NASTY relationship, had spent some time "single", and was dating a couple guys, and then joined match.com. He kept showing up as a 94% match, and after staring at his profile for a good long time, I decided that, if he wrote to me, then it was meant to be. He wrote me the very next day. Months spent online and on the phone, getting to know each other (we were in different cities), before I moved back to his city, where I'd done my first year of university, and where I would be doing the remainder. We met that very day, had dinner with his parents, and spent the night together. It's been 10.5 years now.

I was 22 and had just dropped out of school and moved back in with my parents (Yikes!) and met my husband while working overnight at Christmas time for Target. We hit it off right away and other employees kept telling me to ask him out, that he really liked me. The overnight manager even came over to me and told me she had known him for years, he was a good guy and had never seen him talk to someone as much as he talked to me. I told everyone that he could ask me out if he was interested, I don't chase guys:)

A week after I started he asked me out - told me later that he waited a week because he didn't want me to think he was a creep who chased the new employees. I quit the job two months later for a new one but we were already in love, moved in together a year later and the rest is history! We have been married for 10 years now and have two beautiful girls:)
  • i met my guy on my birthday. i decided to go to the pub for a couple drinks and watch my mum at her pool match. i saw this cute cheeky guy that was on the same team as my mum and he eventually plucked up the courage to talk to me. we chatted all night, he lost his game really easily and we went our seperate ways at the end of the night. then he text my mum's boyfriend, telling him to give me his number and to text him if i wanted to.... so i sent him a message the next day and we arranged to go to the cinema for our first date the following day. he asked me to be his girlfriend 9 days after we had met.

    we've been inseperable ever since.

we have been married for 18 months now and we have an 18 month old son. :)
he's the most amazing guy i have ever met.

i still find it strange that we didnt meet sooner though..... our families know each other but i had never heard of him until a couple months before my birthday.... my mum wanted me to meet him in the march (4 months before i actually met him), but i was in a relationship at the time. i broke up with that guy 2 months later, then finally met Shaun 2 months after that. i wasnt even going out to meet someone, but we hit it off straight away. :)
then a couple weeks after dating, i found out that my sister's fiance used to babysit my guy when he was younger, and our families actually knew eachother really well.... strange how we never met sooner!!!
but i have him now and i will never let him go. i love him to pieces

Well 2 1/2 years ago I had just signed up for a dating website I heard Steve Harvey talk about. Blackpeoplemeet.com I had always dated online just because I have never been a very social person and online dating was more efficient. But Match, Eharmony and Yahoo were not working out, so I figured I would try another site.

So I received an email from my now boyfriend and we met for dinner and a movie. I had just has wisdom tooth surgery the day before and not real talkative. He thought I wasn't interested but we both decided to meet again and it clicked. He had just gotten out of a divorce and I was tired of cocky men and he was the complete opposite. Now it is over 2 yrs later and we are building a house and in discussion about getting married.

He spoils me rotten and I love him very much.

At a night club in Birmingham (UK) called The Tower, we called it the Triple D as you had to be brain Dead, Divorced, or Desperate, to go there, We were divorced, (well I might have been a bit desperate if I am completely honest) LOL

He stared at me for ages but didn't approach me, so I went to have a dance and when I came back he was talking to my friend. She said "This guy really wants to go out with you but he is too stupid to ask. On the bright side he is a mechanic so he could be useful" and walked off leaving us together. We have been together for 20 years now.

I met my boyfriend of almost two years on a video game actually :)! Found out he lived in Northern California, so he drove 8 hours south to come visit me and we met up in Hunnington (sp?) and ever since then we've been seeing each other as much as possible through the long distance barrier.

This March we're moving in together!

Ha, this is great! lol A good friend and I have played a PC game off and on for years and during one of my on spells she introduced me to a friend of hers.. the rest is history.. lol we have been together more than a year (he moved down to Florida last June to be with me) We are planning our wedding 12-12-2012. At which time we will have been together more than 2yrs
