one of my cats comes to the bathroom with me when I take a bath, and eats the bubbles, and sometimes tries to get into the tub with me.

my other cat opens the fridge himself and sometimes gets inside it, especially if it's hot in here.

EEEK! Both of those sound dangerous.

Our golden retriever, DJ likes to hold his leash in his mouth So it LOOKS like he is walking himself.
He DOES not like it when we try to hold the other end.
It is almost like he is telling us that he would rather walk himself thank you...
BTW, He will NOT go for a walk without the leash. He HAS to have it in his mouth to go out walking.
We did not train him to do this, this is just the way that he is.

BTW Our Mini Schnauzer has a pet duck... (Not a real duck mind you this is stuffed.) And he will carry this thing all over the place. It is only cute because the duck is bigger then he is. He also likes to surf the console of our cars. If he did not hate the water so much, i would see if he was willing to surf for real.

Too funny! My dog used to jump into the shower with my when she was a puppy. Scared the $%#@ out of me the first time she did it.

My cat, Fnord, has also learned to open the refrigerator...he opens it, then the dog eats her fill :noway: . Such a loving, symbiotic relationship.

 nah, the bubbles are non toxic and I always catch her when she tries to get in. The fridge- ya, but it doesn't latch again when he opens it so he can still get out. I've caught him int here a couple times. It's very startling, you don't even see him at first because he's all white and blends in. You go to reach for the milk and there he is wrapped around it.

LOL Martini has fallen in the bathtub so many times!

He always walks around the ledge, and when he slips in, he jumps back out, and gives me the dirtiest look, as if I did it to him. But he never learns his lesson. He always tries to dip in his paw and touch my toes, and if he can't reach, that's when he falls in.

I was thinking dangerous to you in the bath not the cat! Claws and all!!!

You should take a picture of the fridge cat wrapped around the milk. That sounds adorable!

My australian shepherd sucks on a blanket. I dont mean chew..............she suckles it using her paws like a baby nursing!!

It is the strangest, and most endearing thing to see. I think the person sold it to my son way too soon, like 4-5 weeks.

She is the sweetest baby, and I am very thankful to have her!!

Aw!!!! That is really sweet. Our cat, Tori, used to do that.

We are thinking of an Aussie Sheppard for our next dog. We have a 15 year old Aussie cattle Dog who is the best dog ever. He's so smart that he could probably drive the car if he had thumbs and longer legs.

My dog HATES his front feet to be touched. So when he lies down he just folds and tucks his feet under. He looks like a little lamb when he does it. It's too cute.

  • These are so very funny! what a great thread to bring a smile! My pups chases any sort of light reflection and when the sun sets she starts licking the walls and floor in the kitchen obsessively trying to "get" it. My parents dog grew up in the woods for many years without any other dogs around and he still, at 13, hops and runs like a deer- silly labs:laugh:

    hmm...

my dog... is afraid of falling off the bed. I have no freakin clue why... he's never actually fallen off the bed to my knowledge... but he sleeps so close to me and has to be touching me. and when I try to GENTLY push him away from me, he freaks out, jumps up, and gets off my bed.

my cat... will sit in front of her bowls and stare at me, or sometimes just look around waiting patiently, even if she has both food and water. granted sometimes it's low when she does it, but there is always enough for her to eat one "meal" and drink enough.

another for my cat.... she thinks my 3 pet rats are her babies. I'm serious. she sits in front of their cage and watches them play with a little smile on her face and her eyes all squinty with happiness. she also loves on their cage aka marking her territory. I can even put the rats right up to her, and as long as their tails aren't moving around, she will only smell them and attempt to rub her face on them.

I think that's the weirdest thing about her, 'cause I thought at the very LEAST she would have been jealous of my getting rats... and at the most try to eat them... but she hasn't done either. she has adopted them as her babies. even when I got the 3rd rat just a couple weeks ago, she automatically adopted her. it was cool

Awww, this is sooo sweet, I just had to mention my "Redd".

She is 12 years old. She must carry something in her mouth when she goes out in the morning... a sock usually. Also, when I let her out to do her business and it's raining... she will not step out until I say "go pee" and she does just that. One more thing, she never eats her food while her head is in her bowl, she gets a mouthful and steps away from the bowl, spits it out and eats it one by one.

    I love my doggie!
  • The strangest thing would have to be when my gemma is outside if there is something dead on the ground she has to roll on her back on top of it! so gross :noway: the firs ttime she did it was on a snake at my mom's house (out in the country). THen when I came back home she would do it on bugs. Little weirdo!

Cutest thing she does is if you are sitting on the couch she has to sit on your lap. If you dont let her she will sit next to you and quietly yip the whole time....she is my darling girl. THere is a pic of her in my profile.

Our black lab moves head so her floppy ears flop from left to right, like really rapidly! We thought she had ear infections or something wrong, so she went in for surgery....After a few operations she still does it & we've just come to the conclusion that she enjoys it & may be a little on the "slow" side.

My lab does this, too - it ended up resulting to two hematoma surgeries! :noway: not fun, him or me (especially when you have a 100lb english lab with a cone on destroying your apartment for 3 weeks!)

my cat charlie (on the left in my ticker) has ALWAYS had an obsession with knocking things off tables, counters, desks, whatever! he sees something, like a cell phone or a remote. sits next to it and gently pushes it until it falls off. then he just looks at it on the floor and walks away. :noway:

I have child locks on my fridge and dishwasher...my 2 dogs (english lab and rottie-pitt mix) know how to open both. They'll either lick the plates in the diswasher completely clean or help themselves to whatever they can find in the fridge. they've eaten an entire pan of lasagna, a big bowl of homemade soup, loaves of bread, containers of hummus, bags and bags of baby carrots...hence, the ,locks

    My dog Bailey...
if its snowed and you're outside with her, if you act like you fell down and "play dead" she will come up next to you and lay down besides you to keep you warm...

When I get her leash she gets into her playful pose, where he front paws are stretched out in front of her he chin is on the ground and her hind legs are standing up, all the whiel her tail is as high in the air as possible, and she wont stop wagging that tail until I say "do you want to go for a walk?" then she just rowr rowrs something that sounds like "I ruv ru"

when I have a big party she will always keep me in her vision but sit next to some of our guests while they pet her... but the second I leave her sight she goes to the next person who is within eye sight, and sit by them... we say she is "mingling" when she does that, hahah everyone gets a turn to pet her...

she loves it when you rub the line between her eyes all the way down to her nose and then back to the top of her head... she will come up to me and stare into my eyes until I do that then she goes and lays back down on her chair... lol pets do the strangest things dont they?

Our dog Gunner will yawn when you scratch the back of his head. he like to lay across your lap and he is a German Shepherd!

Munchkin ( Shepherd Husky cross) feels guilty whenever anybody gets in trouble and she puts herself in her crate.

Kitty ( real name Autumn but she only responds to Kitty) comes when called and runs around the house like an idiot with her tail all fluffed out for hours on end. She likes to watch the water go down the toilet when you flush.

Midnight ( or other cat) is a weenie and doesn't have much of a personality

Years ago I had a kitten that would run across the room, take a leap and slide across the linoleum. Then he'd run back across the room, take a leap and slide again. Back and forth and back an forth he'd go.   I guess he thought it was fun.

My son's cat, Judy, won't eat with anyone standing in the kitchen (that's where the cats get fed). If we're in there for any reason, we have to leave so Judy can eat.

That is hilarious, my two kittens do that too!

    other things:

Henry: steals keys, pens, post-it notes and straws out of drinks and hides them all over the flat
Hugo: climbs into back-packs, shopping bags, the bag for my hair dryer and goes to sleep.

Both of them stick their paws underneath the toilet door and try catching my toes when I am in it.

    got to love them

She also cannot stand for the bathroom door to be closed while you are on in there...she puts her paws underneath the door and trys to open the door with the door knob haha

We have 3 dogs. A hound/golden mix, a redbone coonhound mix and a weimaraner. For those who have owned Weimaraners - that was probably enough information... for those that haven't...

Molly is a "velcro dog". She has to be near me or touching me at all times, which I love... she's a sweetie. BUT - let's face it, there are times that we all like to be "alone"... think bathroom.

She hates going outside when it rains, but will climb into the shower with me if the door is left open. If I lock her out of the bathroom, she will continue to head-butt the door til I come out - then it's like I've been gone FOREVER. She does it every time despite our discussions that there are no other "alternate routes" in and out of the bathroom.
