Are we supposed to rest one day between Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3???

I am finally starting to feel a bit like myself again after having the flu. I did week 3 day 1 level one again, plank all the way to the floor.

Ok, I started over since last week didn't go so well. I am doing plank style, as close to the floor as I can get, and I am shooting for Mon-Wed-Fri. Today...

Hmm, so I was going to try to do a day of rest between each, and so I was supposed to do Week 1, Day 2 today.
Well, yesterday I did some core training and played a really intense game of racquetball with a friend. I went to do my push-up sets today, lowered myself for one and I swear I pulled something in my stomach! I was so sore I couldn't even get one push-up out. Which, obviously, means my body didn't need my doing push-ups today.
So today I gave myself a real day of rest. It was time for a day off from the gym anyway. NOTE TO SELF- Do NOT strength train on push-up off days! :laugh:0 -

I was feeling pretty tired yesterday, so I just did 3 sets of 20 push-ups. I didn't want to miss a day, but knew I couldn't do them all.

Is it bad to do more days than just 3 days each week? I was going to do M-W-F, but then I ended up doing pushups yesterday because I find them addicting. (Ok, I am sick!) I feel like doing day three day, but I don't want to do damage, either!0 -

Anyway, I thought 3 was going to kill me 5 days ago. LOL
I think I could really like this thread... I already like it way more than the sit-up thread.... I like seeing everyone show progress and that they are working the program. It seems like everyone does that here.... It is awesome!0 -
writer4him, I would keep the rest days. Our muscles need to rest/rebuild after we work them. These early weeks might seem easy but just wait! It gets harder. I think you'll really appreciate the rest days then.
Wanda, I'm so glad that your enjoying the pushups! They are hard but just think of how good your arms will look!

Just got finished reading the introduction page to the 100 pushups and this sounds like a challenge I would like to participate in. I will be taking my test tonight to see where I need to start and will be back to log in my results.
I will definitely need all the encouragement I can get being that my upper body strength is really weak.0 -
