do you include fruit calories?

I never do as it's never been required in any other diet I did (Slimming World and Weight Watchers). I rarely eat a banana (maybe twice a week if that) so I don't even include that. If I did include my daily fruit, i'd prob be adding 200-300 calories a day to my diary!
Just wondered what others do.

Yes and veg. With fruit it's good to see just how much sugars they contain. I know it's natural sugar, but it can build up fast. I try to stick to 2 portions per day max. With veg it's great to see just how little calories most have! I like to have a veg snack, a salad/ veg side at lunch and half a plate of veg at dinner so probably 5 of my 5 per day! Variety is key I think - and colour mix!0

Be certain to include anything that you eat or drink....helps keep us more aware of what we are doing. All calories count toward your daily intake.0

of course. why wouldn't you?0

Calories are calories. Fruit would be a better choice than a candy bar, but since they can both be calorie rich, I log them. I mean, you are eating those calories, whether you log it or not, your body keeps track.0 -
I used to not add them & recently started. I didn't realize how many calories in fruit I was eating. I had a bigger loss (3 lbs) in the one week I started logging fruits.0

I include everything. Plus I'm also keeping an eye on sugars and carbs, and fruit is quite high in both of those.0

Yes.....log everything you eat and drink!0

I log everything that goes in my mouth.0

Ditto!0 -
Fruit has calories, I log it all. Just the same with veggies and anything else I eat.0

Yes. I get at least a third of my calories from fruit so it would be crazy not to.0
-
I do! Along with drinks, condiments, etc. If it has a calorie in it, I'm logging it!0
-
Yep you have to log everything - how else will you know exactly what you're putting in your body? MFP is fab but you must
be as accurate as possible for it to work.0 -

I'll never forget this show that i watched on TLC (mainly because the program administrator was really cute) but still... He said he had a patient that didn't understand how they could be overweight. He said he loved oranges, he'd eat oranges all day every day. And Cute Administrator Guy was like "look, oranges may be good for you, but if you eat 100 of anything, it's going to make you gain weight."
i would log the fruit.0 -

Yes you absolutely need to include fruit calories, veggie cals etc.
Log anything you put in your mouth.0 -

Of course I do. Just because you don't log it, doesn't mean your body isn't processing it
Weight loss is simply science. You must eat 3500 calories per week LESS than your body is burning to lose one pound per week. That is a deficit of 500 calories per day. MFP calculates your daily calorie goal based on that. So if you are not logging 200-300 calories per day that you are eating (fruit), that's 1400-2100 extra calories per week that you are not accounting for!!!
Unless you are not eating back your exercise calories (which you should be because otherwise that will INCREASE your deficit too much) then you should count calories for every single thing you put into your mouth.0 -
Anything with calories should be logged in unless you're on some whacky diet where fruits don't count.
I avoid such tomfoolery. If I eat it, it counts.0 -
Just as weight watchers requires you to log anything with points (I think that's how it works), calorie counting requires you to count anything with calories. Like you said, fruit can add up to 200-300 calories a day which is quite a significant amount so you should add them.0

I do not log fruit, pizza or doughnuts.0
-
I log them. Why not? I want to know how many calories I am eating. Calories in...Calories out, right? What I am not sure about is how concerned I should be about the sugar content of fruit. It is pretty high, but at least it isn't "added" sugar.0
-
I log everything that goes in my mouth.
*Everything*? ;-)0 -
Of course you include it... you include anything that has calories - it doesn't matter where they come from.
If I drink a protein shake, I count it for the calories etc. and also as ounces in my water intake. All fluids count there too.0 -
If it goes in your mouth, and it has calories, count it. Is this that hard of a concept. Also, if I didn't log my fruit intake, I'd be consistently underestimating my caloric intake. You're "only" eat 200-300 calories a day worth of fruit? Umm, that's half my caloric deficit...0
-
if it passes my lips than it goes on my log... except water - I am terrible at recording water.0
