My dream job would be a professor and researcher of Hydrogeology. Keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get accepted to one of the PhD programs I applied to.0

but it's true, when you get older you will know more and appreciate more.
Age has absolutely nothing to do with life experience. Some people go through more in one year than others do in their entire life.
Not really. Some people may go through more trama or drama or horror in one year than others ever will, but not more overall experience. And sometimes that lack of experience makes <whatever> seem more tramatic, dramatic or horrific than it might if it happened later in life. There really isn't anything equal to living as an experience.
This is also true but certain things that happen in your life mould you and your experience in a certain way and make you grow up really quickly. Everyone's experience in life is completely different, but I'd say the trauma and grief ive been through has made me the person I am today, I appreciate the time I have with people alot more than I would have having never experienced those things but everyone is different. Put it this way i'd say losing a child was much more traumatic for my mum and dad than it was for me losing my brother. Being older doesnt help you deal with trauma or grief any easier.0 -
I've just started work as a Healthcare Assistant in my local hospital but it's not what i really want to do, i really want to work in a school.
In a ideal world, i would also be a comedian0 -
everyone matures at different rates, that's for damn sure!
i'm turning 29 in may. in many ways i still feel like a kid, but in other ways, i'm an adult. i graduated from college at 22, have been working for 7 years and turned my life around at 24 to start a sober lifestyle (instead of continuing the trainwreck that was my life).
i'm starting from the ground up though because very soon, i'll be taking all the prerequisites necessary to apply to a nursing program0 -
Dream: I want to build sand castles. Well, really sand sculptures.

I want to be a lawyer. Kind of almost there in one respect - but have my LPC to do still and it feels a bit risky funding it myself, so unless I can secure a training contract in today's economic climate it looks like I might have to do something else for a while after I graduate.0

I'm currently a first year in college working on a History degree with a Spanish minor. My dream job is to be an archivist for one of the Smithsonians.
Wow... me too, sorta. Maybe not the Smithsonian but something more local for me. I'm just finishing up my Associates in Accounting (yup, found out thats NOT what I wanna do) and will be starting my Bachelors in History in the fall.0 -
When I first left school the big thing was to be a shorthand typist and secretary...these days called a PR. Due to a lot of illness, that was thwarted but I did get into office work..then all types of jobs to do with bookkeeping which I then taught myself to do and eventually took Bookkeeping and Accounts "O" Levels at the age of 50. Got a job doing that which was fab. I am now about to embark on an OU course in Law..I am now 77.0

YOU ROCK, girl! I wanted to be a secretary when I was in school - took typing and shorthand - and DID get a job like that (as a school secretary for 10 yrs). I now work in a school district as a Grants Specialist........with no degree, no further schooling.
I don't intend to EVER grow up, though. I just keep changing, and as I near retirement, I'm thinking about the next phase!!!0 -
