People have been brainwashed to believe steak (meat)is bad, but you can't blame them, that's all they've heard all their lives.

We buy a locally raised (grass fed) cow every year..I successfully lost 96 pounds last year while still eating red meat...I like it, and have no plans to stop eating it! YUM!!!0

Steak...good!0 -
Nothing wrong with a good steak. As everyone mentions it is all about portion control, have it with a salad.. Also try to buy organic, not only will it taste better, but this way you are not getting all of the hormones and antibiotics that the animals are being feed these days. In reality it is what the animals are being feed that are hurting us the most. Enjoy that steak0

steak! When I am planning on having it, I make sure to work it into my calories and my macros. Honestly, I work my whole day around a great cut and glass of good red :drinker:

I would not stick to any diet if I didn't allow myself steak once in awhile. You can't deprive yourself of good food just watch the amount of good food.0

Steak Good Fire BAAAAADDDDD0 -
Meh, it is not bad in my house! I love steak. I don't eat it weekly, but we have it once or twice a month. I try to get leaner cuts and watch the portions, but also like the thicker fatty cuts on occasion. For me, it's moderation and movement. If I know I'm eating something that's higher in fat, I get a little extra workout time in. Should you eat it every day? Probably not.0

Do you guys like thick steak, or thin-cut steak?
I like thin-cut, carne asada style, with some fresh corn tortillas.

It's considered bad because contains a more saturated fats and cholesterol than white meat or fish, and saturated fat and cholesterol have been the big bad boogeymen of the health industry for the past few decades.
BUT, it isn't processed or refined, it's mostly protein, and there are no carbs and sugar (which are becoming the new big bad boogeymen of the health industry) so I think most people here would agree that in moderation, a good old piece of steak isn't a bad thing.
OT, but I love your Firefly ticker!0 -
Steak is great for you, but how you prepare and eat it is the issue. Yes it has saturated fats, but those alone are not the problem.
As stated before steak is not processed or "created", it is real and is better for you than most other processed meats you can find. Just don't smother it in other processed stuff like your marinades, gravies, or condoments.
Sugar, hydrogenated oils, and processed foods in general are the bad stuff. Also genetically modified foods in general.0 -
common sense and moderation is all it takes people. steak is good!! portion control, just like everything else.
the dude grillin' venison steaks is making me so hungry!! I've got a freezer full of venison, going to have to defrost some tonight and have it tomorrow. so good.0 -
